Start with the basics and learn what it takes to turn mud and rock into objects that last a lifetime. Whether you’re shaping clay on the potter’s wheel or sculpting with your hands, you will be amazed with each step along the way. Students are encouraged to supply their own towel/rag. AUTUMN LEAF TILE with Mike Daddario

Work within the print and ceramics studios to create your own textured set of autumn themed tiles! The first day, work in the print studio where you'll choose your image and carve your linocut. Practice printing with your carving by making a set of cards. The following day, meet in the ceramics studio where you'll use your linocut to press your image into a slab of clay, resulting in a handmade set of 4"x4" tiles. $60 / $51 (member)

Let's combine clay with screen printing! Learn how to utilize screen printing ceramic slips for transferring designs and patterns onto ceramic surfaces. In this course, we will spend one class in the print studio exposing screens and printing transfers on rice paper and newsprint. Then we will head down to the ceramics studio to learn how to bring those designs into clay. In this class, you will create a few coasters and trays with ready-made designs provided for you.

MONOPRINTING IN CLAY with Sharon Delong

A monoprint is a unique way to create a surface design in ceramics by transferring an image you create. The process involves painting layers of underglazes on newsprint before placing the paper, glazed side down, onto a wet slab of clay. Peel back the paper and the results will be magical. Create small forms such as a tray, budvase, or a bowl.
