Come Visit Us
A new year, and a new beginning. Some of the same familiar hurdles, but plenty of exciting opportunities await. We are thrilled to be able to offer you these classes this spring considering the circumstances. Like so many institutions, the ongoing pandemic has pushed us to explore new ways of working while critically examining every step of the art making process and to ensure safety practices stay top of mind. We thank all of you who have supported, participated, or cheered on from afar. Your patience, communication, and understanding has been the bright spot in these dark times. Like a beginning student in their first creative class, we have learned so much about ourselves and our potential since our last catalog in spring 2020. The opportunity to reemerge in 2021 is a blessing we plan to take full advantage of. This term’s offering will look a bit different than those catalogs of the past. Out of an abundance of caution, we will be maintaining limited class length and size for the start of the spring term. Our hope is that vaccines will be distributed, and weather will improve, allowing us to expand to longer term classes toward the later half of the term. If all goes smoothly, we hope to combine our new found technical knowledge with our authentic classroom experiences for future offerings that are better than ever. However, with the unexpected twists and turns that the past year have shown us, we have added QR codes throughout the catalog to give you easy access to the most up-to-date offerings in the event of any unexpected turns in the pandemic. By using the camera on most smartphones our website offerings are now at your fingertips. The start of the spring 2021 term will continue many of the innovative new class formats we pioneered in the past year. Creative Carryout, online classes, and limited capacity on-site workshops provide a creative escape while ensuring safe social distancing. If you haven’t had the opportunity to experience these new creative experiences, our YouTube channel is a great primer of all the hard work our teachers have done in the past months. These opportunities give access to great topics, a diverse array of art media, and the opportunity to find your creative voice while minimizing exposure and ensuring safe distancing. We are excited to start this year anew, and look forward to all the opportunities, whether you choose to work from home, or mask up and come in for a socially distanced experience. Your creative growth and outlet have been our driving force through these difficult times. The pandemic has been challenging and we look forward to its passing, but we are excited by all we have learned, and eager to share it with you. We hope to see you around the studio soon, Tim Compton Artistic Director

On-site Safety Measures GoggleWorks is taking increased measures in accordance with CDC recommendations. To provide the safest experience possible for our customers, we will require the following expectations: 1. Face coverings are required at all times on campus. Visitors will be able to remove their face covering while seated for a movie, but must replace the face covering before getting up to leave their seat. 2. Temperatures will be checked upon entering the building and/or studio. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be asked to leave. 3. Wash your hands frequently and for the prescribed length. When you are unable to wash your hands, please use our new hand sanitizer stations throughout the main building and out buildings to promote clean hands. 4. Please do not arrive early or leave late. Those that arrive early will be asked to wait outside in their car. No additional guests beyond those registered are permitted inside the building. 5. Credit card payments are preferred at this time to limit the exchange of cash. 6. A heightened cleaning schedule will occur throughout the day facilitated by our cleaning staff. 7. Additionally, high traffic spaces and touch points will be cleaned between groups by GoggleWorks staff. 8. Maintain social distancing. Stay healthy. And stay home when sick. Our 15th year kicked off this past fall and sparked more creativity than ever before. The arts are so vital to our lives and GoggleWorks is a hub for the impressive work bringing beauty, collaboration, hope, and healing to our community. We look forward to continuing this work safely alongside you.

Hot Glass Come experience the heat in GoggleWorks’ state-of-the-art glassblowing studio. Whether you’re a total beginner gathering liquid glass for the first time or a seasoned pro doing roll ups, we offer a variety of learning experiences for every level. Closed-toe shoes, pants, and hair tie are required.
In March, we made the difficult decision to temporarily turn off our glass furnace. While the studio was quieter and cooler than normal, we never stopped brainstorming creative ways to offer hot glass to our community. While there is still too much uncertainty and expense to fire up our large furnaces, we are excited to announce that we are restoring a portable furnace, called a “Big Dragon,” which will serve artists on campus and the community immediately outside of our walls. Small but mighty, this mobile furnace will allow us to offer hot glass classes on campus once again this spring, as well as interactive “glass on the go” programs in public spaces! Use this QR code to stay up to date on our upcoming plans.
