Porsches & Pancakes at EGGstacy
CONTRIBUTED BY CEL LEAL
My wife Lori and I were members of the Arizona PCA from 2004 to 2013 before moving back to Utah. We just moved back to Cave Creek in July and have since rejoined the club. It's nice to be back and catch up with old friends and meet new friends through club events such as this one.
My thanks to Dennis Rood for organizing the Porsches and Pancakes at EGGstasy. We had twenty-seven members signed up and split over a couple of tables. The food was great and by the looks of the crowd that morning, others shared my views.
On the way to breakfast I received a call from Jim Roberts, who was concerned if he was at the right restaurant. Jack and Loretta Aman were also there but if you know these three you know they like to arrive early to events. It appears they got there early and were concerned that they may have gone to the wrong EGGstasy location as they did not see any familiar faces. After checking the registration email we assured them they were at the correct location.
Oh yes, a word of caution. If you happen to sit next to Dennis at the next breakfast event be prepared to take notes and pictures as you may be asked to write the next article.
See you at the next Arizona PCA event.
This month Mark and I celebrate our 13th AZPCA anniversary. Wow! I can't even begin to count all the events we have attended. There are always some that you never forget; such as the Vegas Fun Runs, Valentine Date Night, Hot Air Balloon trip, drives to Sedona and Flagstaff, PCA National Treffens and of course the many Alpine weekends. There is one PCA event we haven't done and that is Parade. Next year it will be in Palm Springs, June 18-24, 2023.
Now is the time of the year to thank everyone who has taken the time to write an article/story and took pictures at our events for Going Places. Special kudos to Peter Veith, who drove down to the Wilcox DE to take pictures and Connor McKlain for all the Phoenix Flight 44 photos. Remember "It's not just the cars, it's the people."
After being the editor for over 6 years, I will be passing this responsibility over to, Gregg and Ali Bull. Can you see the big smile on my face? We will work together and transition over the next few months. Thank you Gregg and Ali for volunteering.
This month the winner for the Writer's Award for Going Places is Scott Faris for "AZPCA's First Official Time Trials Event." He will receive a $30. credit on MotorsportReg, which is good for one year to use on any AZPCA event.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, Happy New Year and any other holiday I might have missed!
Looking forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events.
