Dedication of Golda Och Academy December 6th, 2010
She was tireless in her efforts, sharp as a tack, straight as an arrow. How fitting that the school should be rededicated in her memory. ‐ SSDSEU Alumni Parent
Golda
Golda Och loved this place and all the people in this place loved Golda! ‐ SSDSEU Staff Member
There was no one like Golda – no one who cared more or worked harder. Not only did she make the school “go,” but she was also a repository of the historical and current issues of the school. There was nothing that Golda did not know or remember when it came to Schechter… ‐ SSDSEU Past President
Golda was an amazingly brilliant woman with a brain second to none and she used her talents to further the cause of Jewish education in general and for SSDSEU in particular… Golda truly loved her students. What she did, she did for them and they returned the love. ‐ SSDSEU Alumni Parent
Golda was dedicated to Schechter – both in her heart and her soul… Golda was always guided by her sense of decency, compassion and wisdom, even when faced with the most difficult financial decisions. She never lost sight of anything – except maybe her keys and eyeglasses! ‐ Former colleague and alumni parent
Golda was smart! She was dedicated. She believed in the importance of our Solomon Schechter Day School with every fiber of her being. She wanted to be part of a Conservative day school where girls learned alongside boys and all were challenged by the critical examination of our sacred texts viewed through the prism of the times we were living through. ‐ SSDSEU Past President
Golda was pragmatic, compassionate and smart, to her I will always be grateful. ‐ SSDSEU Alumni Parent & Former Board Member

Golda did not try to impress, she didn’t mince words and she wasn’t concerned with diplomacy. Her authenticity was a hallmark of her character. I recall Golda then and through the years being straightforward about her commitment to Jewish education and specifically to our Schechter. I’m proud to know that the school will bear her name. ‐ SSDSEU Parent
Her understanding of the issues, her depth of compassion, her pragmatism and her history with the school made her the perfect “partner” for me. ‐ SSDSEU Past President
There are people who represent the quiet strength behind an institution – whose guidance, talent, commitment and ongoing involvement, insure the success of that institution. For SSDS, Golda Och was that person. As students we barely knew what she did, but it was obvious to all that her steady hand was responsible for making this beloved school what it has become today. Her legacy is an inspiration. ‐Alumnus from the class of 1984
