ichael first joined the Goldbergs at Superior Galleries in 1970 and managed the Stamp Department, soon adding Space and Aviation to his area of expertise.

One day, back in the late

1970’s, Buzz Aldrin (the Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 11 and the second man to walk on the moon) walked into Superior Galleries in Beverly Hills and asked Michael: “Can you sell this envelope I carried with me to the Moon?”

That was Michael’s introduction to the fascinating world of Space Memorabilia. Michael became friends with Buzz and over the past 30 years has sold many other items from his personal collection. Michael orchestrated the first space memorabilia auction devoted exclusively to space memorabilia in January 1993. He has been an Expert Witness for NASA and has worked closely with numerous Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronauts and their families. Michael now manages the Space Memorabilia and Stamp auctions for the Goldbergs. “I feel space memorabilia is history and it should not be lost or given away through lack of knowledge. Some of the most important memorabilia shows up from the most unexpected places.” - Michael Orenstein Call us to speak with Michael regarding appraisals and consignments of Space & Aviation Memorabila or Stamps.
