N A N C Y L O V E Singer, Nancy Love released her music video 'Your Body' exclusivley with us in the beginning of the year and we just had to catch up with her.
What was the concept behind your new music video "Your Body"? I wanted to create a video people would get easily drawn to. I wanted to present it as a fun and funny video, something very colourful for everyone to enjoy. It's about dancing, forgetting your worries and just having a great time. The world needs more of that. Is there another album coming soon? It is currently in the works as we speak! What is your advice to new artist? Best advice would be to always follow your dreams. Don't listen to any negativity, don't let anyone bring you down and don't ever doubt yourself. If this is what you want to do, if this is what you love and if others can do it, why can't you? Push forward, let yourself dream and achieve. Enjoy the journey, it isn't a race. What are your plans for 2017? Writing new music, performing at more shows, networking and creating great content for my fans to enjoy. What was the moment that you realize singing was something you wanted to do? When I felt how happy it made me when I first got on stage and how fulfilled I felt every time I finished singing a song. I loved the support and love from peers and family too, made me push further and grow into full potential. What inspires you to write? Experiences, people I know, feelings, losses, gains, just about anything and everything that life has to offer me.
SØF Formaly known as Sofia Nicole, SOF is an indie-pop artist who brings an interesting vibe to pop music. Her first single 'Ghost' is out now. Why did you change your name to SØF from Sofia Nicole? My full name is Sofia Nicole Khorosh, and when I first started performing live I wanted a cool stage name. My last name is hard to spell and most people mispronounce it, so I thought just using my first and middle name would work much better. For a long time my name really reflected my sound- it was pretty and soft and nice-sounding, but it really had no edge. I decided that I wanted a more “indie” name, and since everyone calls me Sof anyway, I figured I'd make my stage name SØF. The Ø just looks cool. How do you describe your sound? My sound is edgy, upbeat, catchy, sassy and a little funky. What made you fall in love with music? I've been in love with music all my life. Ever since I was a baby I was just always singing. It's such a release for me. Performing gives me such a high, and writing is complete catharsis.
What is the story behind , 'Ghosts'? I was harboring a lot of resentment toward a former flame of the person I was dating, and it was starting to really affect my relationship. I decided that I wouldn't allow myself to be consumed by the past, so I wrote “Ghosts” in an effort to move on. dating, and it was starting to really affect my relationship. I decided that I wouldn't allow myself to be consumed by the past, so I wrote “Ghosts” in an effort to move on. Take this from her debut single: You can't change the past. As much as I'm sure everyone has wanted to at some point, they just can't. You have the option to either let your experiences shape you and help you grow, or hold onto grudges and stay stuck in your memories. When you look at it objectively like that, one option is clearly better than the other. On Girl Empowerment: Girls rock! I'm proud to be a woman and I know I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. My gender doesn't hold me back. Sexism is still present in our society, but I want all girls to know that we’re strong and capable of achieving anything we work hard for. We need to support one another.

What every person can learn from the womens march by RZMRY (Singer x Activist)
On January 21 , over five million people came together from around the globe to raise voices on st
behalf of women everywhere. The closest opportunity for me to use my voice was in Los Angeles, California where seven hundred and fifty thousand people crowded the streets from Pershing Square to City Hall.
Due to the way the media portrays most protests, I wasn’t surprised when people asked me to sit this one out for my own safety. However, the safety of my rights and the rights of those around me were at stake. They still are. I find it hard to be complacent posting from social media alone. Social media is a good tool to promote social consciousness, but it is what we do with said consciousness that matters. Post march, I can proudly say that Women’s Marches all over the world remained peaceful, with a total of zero arrests.
As I have gotten older, I have started recognizing the injustices I have faced growing up a girl. Today, as a twenty three year old white woman in Trump’s America, I can consider these injustices and how much greater they are for many of my fellow sisters and brothers. It is a heart wrenching time to be a woman, an immigrant, a Muslim, a refugee, a person of color, part of the LGBTQ+ community. If you are wondering why multiple groups of people are relevant while talking about a march specific to women, it is because of something called “intersectional feminism.” Not every feminist is white, middleclass, cis gendered and able bodied. Intersectionality recognizes that women of different backgrounds experience oppression in various degrees of intensity. Being an intersectional feminist starts with one step: checking your privilege.
The outcome of this most recent election left me feeling defeated and hopeless. I felt alone. It took a deep breath, checking my privilege and joining a movement to make me realize that was not the case. It is okay to get down and to feel scared, but this evil we face is not a necessary evil. We mustn’t allow it to divide and conquer. We must stand strong. We must stand united. The Women’s March taught me this in ways I will never forget, in ways that moved me to tears, in ways that empowered me.
These “ways” I speak so highly of are moments like holding hands with strangers and putting our fists into the air, chanting, “I matter. We matter. I am the people. We are the people.” My chest tightened and tears welled up in my eyes because it was the first time I had ever said that, let alone felt it— “I matter.” It was the first time I believed that— “We matter.” It was validating the use of my voice—“I am the people.” It was a reminder of the knowledge that had been stripped with our hope— “We are the people.” It was moving, and this is a movement.
I am a first generation American. I was born in a nation of immigrants not of ignorance. I am a first generation American. I was born in a nation that does not turn its back on the hardworking, courageous people looking to provide better lives for themselves and for their families. I am a first generation American. I live in a nation where our safety and freedoms are being threatened. The Women’s March was the beginning. It is a reminder that we are not alone. You are not alone. It is a feeling of unity and connection. Now, we ask ourselves, “What’s next?”
We must define our next steps and turn them into local and national action.
We do this for the same reasons we marched: for our families, for our friends and for our futures.
We are the future.
We are the people.
We matter.

In a world where everything is so media dominated, our perceptions of ourselves can be pretty, well daunting. With magazines, after magazines, filled with the ‘perfect’ body images for men and women, adverts manipulating us to purchase products to enhance our beauty, and even people telling us what is beautiful, we can become pretty self-conscious. But what is perfect? In honest terms, there is no such thing as perfection as cliche as that may sound. It’s saddening that so many people try and better themselves not for self-satisfaction, but purely to become the media’s idea of beautiful. But who are the media to judge us for who we are? What we wear? What we weigh? What we look like? The only thing that matters is what YOU feel like. If YOU are happy with the way you are, then that is the only person that matters. Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you’re not good enough, or not beautiful enough, because you really are. Now I understand how daunting it can be when you're faced with so many media outlets screaming what is beautiful and what isn’t. But in times like this, we all need to stick together. And that’s why this month, I have compiled some helpful little tips to help you guys stay positive about your body image!

Skinny does NOT mean healthy So many people are so obsessed with becoming skinny and have the pre-conception that being skinny will also mean that they are healthy, which in some cases is not exactly the truth. People get so obsessed with getting the media’s idea of a perfect body that they don’t see just what they are doing to themselves. If your body fat levels drop too low, this can cause hair loss, losing your period, tiredness, and in some cases lacking energy and motivation. So before you become obsessed with trying to lose the pounds, contact the proper help for you. Speak to a personal trainer, or even someone at your local gym. Working together with them you will be able to compile a training and exercise routine that will be specific to you and will help you maintain HEALTH. Models? Probably airbrushed there are so many cases where models have come forward and published the before and after airbrushed photos of their shoots to show people that they aren't what the media are publishing. This should be something that sticks in your head every time you see a model on a campaign, on tv or in a magazine. They aren't always what they are portrayed to look like. Everyone has their imperfections, and models are no exceptions, so don’t base yourself on becoming them, because they are just like the rest of us!

Do people even really care? - We do all this stuff to try and become like the people in the media, but for who? Do we do it for ourselves? Or do we do it for acceptance from people? If you’re doing it for your own happiness, then carry on, of course safely. But if you’re doing it for acceptance, just take some time to think, do people really care what you look like? If the answer is yes, then you are better off without them in your life. People who only look on the outside of a person, are so selfish and you don’t need that negativity in your life. Live for the moment (well within reason!) - People constantly calorie counting, are you really having a good time? When you’re out and everyone is having that chocolate fudge cake, don’t even try and tell me that you are having a good time watching them eat it! Live for the moment, don’t over indulge, but you deserve to treat yourself every now and again.

The main thing, be kind to each other. If you see someone, and think they look great, tell them. If you like their outfit, compliment them. A few simple kind words will go far in both your confidence and the people around you.

Lindsay Lamb on her role in ony Entertainment’s “Apple Of My Eye”, Lionsgate’s “Blue Line”, Education and dealing with negativity.
What about 'Apple Of My Eye' made you decide to take on the role? "For starters, the story is so inspiring and I immediately fell in love with the script. I had worked with our amazing director, Castile Landon, before so when I was offered the role it was really a no-brainer. Of course, being able to work with a mini horse was an added bonus!" How did the role inspire you? "I play Jenny, the lead character’s Braille tutor. Not knowing much about Braille, I did as much research as I could but then was taken under the many wings at Southeastern Guide Dogs soon after arriving in Florida. Working so closely with the individuals there taught me so much. It sounds cliche, but the expression ‘when one door closes another one opens’ really best describes how the role and film as a whole inspired me." Do you want to take on more serious roles, or would you prefer to explore some comedic roles instead? "Comedy is my world. I love everything about it and it’s where I’m most comfortable, but the more recent serious roles have definitely been a great challenge and a huge learning experience. "
Let's talk about 'Blue Line'. That role is so different from 'Apple Of My Eye'. How was it to play in such a film? "I had a blast shooting Blue Line. It was the first legitimate booking that I had after graduating from the University of Southern California so it really meant a lot to me. We were filming in the middle of winter in Cromwell, Connecticut so that definitely came with its own set of challenges (especially being from Florida where winter weather rarely requires a jacket!), but at the end of the day I couldn’t have asked for a better experience straight out of college. We are all so excited for its release this March."
blonde or the cheerleader roles but it’s so exciting for me to dive into a character that no one pictures me as and prove everyone wrong! I’m sure there’s some psychological issue there that I probably need to deal with… haha!" How do you as public figure deal with negativity on social media?
"Laugh! That’s all you really can do. " Lindsay is a graduate of the University of Southern California Why was finishing school so important to you?
Have any roles ever affected you in a way? "Of course, in many different ways. I’m always in acting class, most of the time scene study, and I’ve found myself really affected by certain playwrights. For example, I love Sam Shepard’s work. I worked on one of his plays, “Fool for Love”, in class about a year ago and have thought about it nonstop ever since. " What advice do you have for actors and actresses that deal with rejection? "Well for starters, everyone pursing anything in this industry deals with rejection. It’s tough, no way around it, but I think there’s some comfort knowing that you’re not alone. Whenever I audition I do my best to give a prepared, smart performance and then I leave and try to not think about it again. I think it’s also so important to have a support team. Whether that’s friends, an acting class, anything. It’s nice to be able to talk with people who know exactly what you’re going through. " What kind of scripts do you look for? "I look for characters that will challenge me and that are different from what I’ve played in the past. Of course it’s fun to play the dumb
"Well I’ve always been a bookworm, so school was something that I looked forward to. Some girls dream about their weddings, I dreamt about going to college in Los Angeles. It was, and still is really important to me to be a well rounded actor. I wanted to learn as much as I possibly could and I knew that a school like USC would give me all the tools to be confident in pursing this crazy dream." What are your goals for 2017? "I Iefinitely want to break into the TV world. I also want to travel more, see new places and eat new food. As long as I keep moving forward in my career and in my personal life, I’ll be very happy about 2017!" You can catch Lindsay in 'Blue Line' coming out March 17th, 2017. DOROTHY W
WANG Jewlery Designer and TV Gold, Dorothy Wang talks growing up in a billionaire faimly, her show, why education is important, girl power and her go to beauty products!
"Funemployed." The word used to describe 29 year old 'Rich Kid' Dorothy Wang. Sure she is the yongest daughter to a self-made real estate billionaire Roger Wang but don't let the dollar signs fool you. She is more than that. How was it to grow up in such a wealthy family? "For me I think my childhood and growing up the way that I did, it’s the only thing that I know. For me it didn’t feel crazy or over the top and I think my parents did a great job of keeping us grounded. I had a pretty normal upbringing. Maybe growing up I was exposed to certain things or learned things differently or at a younger age just because of the circumstances. I don’t think that growing up." Did you know how successful your dad was as a child? I didn’t. I knew he worked and had some level of success and could tell by the way people treated him, but I never really knew the extent of it. We never spoke of money in our family, my parents never referred to themselves as “rich.” IT wasn’t until it was listed in Forbes Magazine that I found out what my father’s company was worth. Dorothy spent much of her free time as a child traveling the globe with her family, which allowed her to really get a deep connection with other cultures.
What is your favorite thing about traveling with your family? My favorite thing about traveling with my family is spending time with them. We are all so busy and have our own things going on, it’s very rare for us to be in the same part of the world at the same time. But when we are together we do EVERYTHING together. We love to explore new cities to the fullest. We do the local activities and street foods, but also dine at the nicest restarants. We love to get a pulse of the city! My experience with traveling with other people was a harsh reality because they usually don’t want to do anything and I’m eager to explore. What has been your favorite place to visit and why? When we went to South Africa, and did the Safari experience. IT was one of the most amazing experiences. I would describe it as a once in a lifetime experience. I’m not a nature girl, but in this experience it was so beautiful and so different! Seeing different cultures around the world, What can America learn from other cultures? I think the biggest thing americans can learn from other parts of the world is to be accepting of other cultulres. I get offended when people travel to other countries and stick their nose down on it. Make fun of the food, or talk about how nobody speaks English.
" What makes people interesting are the things that make them differmt! "
Americans in general expect to go everytwhere and be able toget a salad and a hamburger the way they want it, and I don’t think that’s a good mentality. When you travel you should emerse yourself in other cultures, and learn and appreciate the cultures! Dorothy atteneded the prestigious HarvardWestlake preparatory school as a child. While there, she excelled in sports and participated in many leadership oppurnitunies.
Why was education important to you ? Education was and still is important to me because that is the basis of which you build upon. I do think you need to have a firm base in order to continue on into whatever career oyu want. At the time I went to a very prestigious high school and then went to USC, I didn’t have a hard time in college because I went to such a competitive high school. Sometimes I was almost surprised by how much better prepared I was than most of the other students I was around in college.
It says in your bio that while in preparatory school you were good in sports, what sports and did you ever think about perusing those What do you plan to do with your as a career? communication degree? Yes, I did play sports while I was in High School and Middle School. I loved PE even though I was a girlie girl. I loved the play sports, starting in fifth grade I began playing basketball, volleyball, and tennis. I played all of those sports leading up until eighth grade. I was an athlete in my younger days but I was also tall for fifth grade, but only grew two inches from them. My sports career halted in high school. I played tennis and volleyball until junior high and by then I think it was time for me to admit I wasn’t going to be able to continue at a competitive level. From there I became a cheerleader for the rest of my high school.
At USC I majored in communication and minored inbusiness and I think the thing that interested me the most in communication is it really is involved of all fascets of your life. If you understand communication it will help you achieve whatever your goals are. It exists in all sectors of business. Being able to communicate with people is an entire industry in itself.
During the year of 2014 E! picked up a show pitched by Dorothy herself entitled 'Rich Kids of Belvlery Hills' amd the cast became TV gold. It showcased the lives of five famous rich kids and She then went on to obtain a communication how they navigate thier lives in the degree from the University of California spotlight.. Dorothy become a household Annenberg School for Communication and name by just being herself and having Journalism with a minor from the Marshall fun. The show latest for four seasons. School of Business. Continue on next page.
Continued I created the show and then pitched it to different production companies and it came from there! I was always told you’re so funny and be on a reality show. After I graduated college I wanted to give it a try. I wrote a treatment and storylines and put a group together and this is what I did for a few years after school, and I met with the right person at the right time and it just happened so quickly and it became a hit show on E! What makes the reality show you are on different from the others in your opinion? I really set out to create an entertaining fun bubbly reality based show where the people on it don’t have to make themselves into jokes and being overly vulgar. We loved the Hills growing up, by the time I was in my early twentiesit seemed like every reality show was more you’re laughing at them and not with them. But there is a demographic of people that can have morals, be classy, educated and well spoken, and still be fun and bubbly and have a show people want to watch! One of my goals was to create a show that you weren’t embarrassed to watch with your parents. Let's talk fashion. What drew you to become a designer? I don’t have a clothing line but e eventually I’d love to have one. But I do have a necklace line and it was something fun I wanted to do that was very in the moment and I wanted to be able to create a fun piece of jewelry at a great price and the whole process was a ton of fun. Fashion doesn’t have to be taken so seriously and it shouldn’t have to be so expensive. Mixing highs and lows are a fun way to be a little bit different and to express yourself.
What’s your go too beauty product's? Clean healthy skin. I get a facial every six weeks. People are often surprised to learn that I don’t use a fancy one, I use clean and clear exfoliating face wash and cetaphil. For removing makeup so I use Shisiedo’s makeup remover, and I sleep with humidifier. For concealers and under eye I use benefits lemonade. Eyebrows are everything, Anastasia’s brow wiz pencil and Charlotte Tilburry’s contour and highlight pack! Nars bronzer as well! What is your opinion on magazine’s photo shopping women's pictures to make them 'Perfect "? When you’re on the cover a magazine everyone expects to see a certain thing on a magazine. I’m not against a little touch up or a Photoshop but to retouch so much to the point where the person looks unrealistic and unlike themselves I don’t agree. The consumer also isn’t that dumb and can always tell! Being “perfect” isn’t necessary. What makes people interesting are the things that make them different! The photo should always have the essence of the person! What is your advice to young girls who look up you and wonder how to become so successful? Be yourself! Growing up and even now I felt I was a little different from everyone else but for some reason I don’t know if it’s from my mom or my dad, but they taught me to be proud of who I am and what I do. There’s no shame in who you are even if it’s different from other people. For me the whole “hipster” thing was so cool, but that wasn’t for me! I always embraced who I was, and eventually being myself became my brand and my business. Be confident in yourself and who you are! Work hard and try to focus and figure out what you want to do and go for it!
How do you deal with haters and self-doubt as a public figure? The hardest adjustment to make was that people were publically hating me and making comments about me. That’s a whole different realm. In the beginning it was hard but as it goes on and you see how many people love your vs hate you, you are thankful for your fans and the people that love you! What is your take on the Women's March as a woman yourself? I think the women’s march really showed not only our country but everyone around the world that we are not going to sit down and back down but set a united front and fight for what we believe in. Women are powerful and not going to just be quiet and let things happen. The turnout across the country was astounding and it really shows women are strong and powerful and if you get a big group together there’s no telling what you can do! Dorothy also finds time for her two favorite charities UNICEF and Children’s Hospital. What has doing charity work taught you? I have been doing charity work my whole life, my parents would take us to the orphanages in china or the mental facilities in china and we worked with them closely. Especially with the children. It has kept us very grounded and given me a sense of knowing that I can make a difference in someone else’s life and it’s also has made me very aware of how lucky I am and how fortunate I am to have the life that I have. I understand what is happening in the real world and its very humbling and grounds you and makes you remember what is important in life.

Alexa Ferr How did you get started in music?
What inspired ‘Room For 2?
I" used to always sing at home for my family. One day I was at my cousin's friend's house and her mom was into acting and music as well and she overheard me singing so she suggested I take vocal lessons from this coach she knew (he coached Shania Twain back in the day.) From then on singing and performing became my passion. "
'Room For 2' was inspired by a personal experience I had not too long ago. At the time this track was written, I felt that girls were trying to get at my man. Of course this made me feel a certain way, but the song also talks about how I know that no one can come in between our relationship and that "there's only room for two.” So at the same time, it's kind of an empowering message to women to know your place in your relationship.
What does the title ‘Room For 2” mean and how does this song reflect you as an artist? The title 'Room For 2' is very meaningful to me because when I wrote it with Th3ory when I was going through some things, making it a very personal song to me. It basically means that there's only room for two people in a relationship so all the outsiders shouldn't matter or try to interfere with what you and your significant have. If they try to, don't let it get to you because at the end of the day, the person is with you for a reason and if they fall into it — that means they're not the right one for you. This song definitely shows how I've grown not only vocally and as an artist but also as a woman. I’m more confident as I've grown older and have experienced some things that shaped me into who I am today.
Who are your biggest influences?
Will your upcoming project sound like this single? Or will it have different sounds?
It gets hard sometimes but like any other person I try to remain positive and look at my blessings and what I can and can't do in any situation that can make it better.
It's hard to say without giving too much away but for the most part my project definitely sounds more grown up and edgier. There are different sounds and infusions for sure as I've always loved different styles and genres of music. That definitely shines through in my music.
Growing up I always listened to Aaliyah, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Jojo and Brandy. All of those artists definitely influenced my music. How many songs have you actually recorded and not released yet? I've recorded a lot of songs the past year that I haven't released yet and may never release but I'm finally putting out a new project full of new music soon! How do you, as a public figure, deal with doubt?
What can we expect from you this year? Lots of new music, videos, etc!
How did you get into makeup? I first got into makeup because I wanted to explore with my identity. Growing up, I was a tomb boy and I reached a peek in my life where I wanted to get into my creative/feminine side. Were you always into makeup even in school or was it something you discovered later on? Doing makeup professionally didn't come until later On after I graduated.

What is your go to everyday make up look? My go to everyday makeup look would definitely be a neutral eye, dewy skin and a bold lip.

What advice do you have to girls who only use make up to cover up what they think are flaws? Makeup only enhances what you naturally have! The same confidence you have with the makeup, I want you to have without. I want us to focus on our true skin and make it better!

What keeps you going? What keeps me going in this industry is seeing the smiles I help show. Its so fullfilling to see the brightness in someone eyes, not temporary but forever. What has to happen in your career to make you say, I finally made it. When I do Jlo makeup! I'm kidding lol! Honestly, I'm not sure when I will be able to say those words because it's so much I want to accomplish. I want to continue to write down goals and achieve them! Why don't you post your tutorials to YouTube like other MUA's? I don't utilize YouTube at this time because I'm literally learning how to use my iPhone 7 lol. I'm not the most techsavvy and each day I'm learning and getting out my comfort zone. Maybe in the near future, I can venture out to YouTube! Your take on body shaming and how we can contribute to changing it in 2017? I wish people would realize that we don't live in a perfect world and it will never be perfect. Humilitating the next person will not make things better, your only showing how unhappy you really are. Even to the people who have the means to change there appearance, I want them to let the audience know that there still not perfect and that's okay. To the people who do not have the means right now, stop criticizing others that make changes for there own happiness. Your appearance is only temporary but what's on the inside will leave a impact forever.
