Grace is an Australian singer/songwriter who is best known right now for her first single "You Don't Own Me" ft. G. Eazy. It was a cover version to the 1963 Lesley Gore original that was produced by Quincy Jones. It was a Spotify top 10 most viral tracks and it was number 1 on the Aus. Billboard charts. In May 2015 ,she released an EP entitled "Memo" , which included "Boyfriend Jeans", the same single that got her a record deal in the US. Grace has a powerhouse voice that will sound amazing on any genre of music. Being that she comes from a musical family and her and her brother made history in Aus. as the only siblings to have a number one charted song on the ARIA charts as separate acts, she has already accomplished a lot in a short time and we can't wait to see what she has next. Megan Nicole , 22, has made an amazing name for herself in this music industry just by starting with YouTube covers. So much you can get by posting on YouTube now a days and Megan really got it down packed. If you don't know Megan , you could just ask one of her 2 million+ meganizer's all around the globe but i'll tell you. She first debuted on YouTube in 2009 covering "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon. After getting mega views from her follow up covers including a few awesome rap songs , Megan decided to release her first original song entitled "B-E-A-utiful on July 2011. The video got one million views in two days and 27 million views by November 2013. Still releasing covers , original songs, her first EP entitled "Escape" and a movie, she is continuing to rise to the top of the charts. With her upbeat tunes , her relatable lyrics and gaining more and more fans everyday ,I can't wait to see how she will take 2016. www.goldcrownmag.com | 08

The queen of the outlaws has a made an awesome name for herself by sharing music with the world that's so relatable that her first single "Here" was EVERYWHERE. Alessia Cara is not just an overnight sensation , she was on YouTube for four years before breaking down the four pink walls of the music industry. Alessia adds something to the books that young people need, which is a voice but not just any voice , a voice for those who want to stand out and be better and original. Alessia has set that tone in her debut album "Know It All" and I love it. She has already slayed 2015 , 2016 is gonna be a blast.

Daya , 17, is a singer / songwriter who debuted her first self titled EP last year. The first single off the EP entitled "Hide Away" was well recieved online catching the attention of some of the top bloggers and eventually rose to number 40 on the pop charts when the EP came out. Billboard called it "a gorgeous debut". Daya brings something special to the table with her unique voice , style, and lyrics that speak what girls are truly thinking. In 2015 , she was just getting started but this year she may surprise us all. Follow her on Twitter @theofficialDAYA www.goldcrownmag..com | 09
There is so much to say about this beauty , she has the soft and sultry voice of an angel with the ability to write the lyrics of an art masterpiece. Alina Baraz was featured in our last issue as our feature artist but I just had to add her to this list because her music is a MUST to listen to. Alina is a 22 year old singer / songwriter , who was born in Cleveland , Ohio but now resides in LA. She first released a song on Souncloud entitled "Drifts" which eventually lead up to her debut EP "Urban Flora" with producer Galimatias. Can't wait to see what's next. Follow her on all social media @alinabaraz
Karen Harding ,24, is a favorite of mine that I just discovered on Youtube. She is originally from England. She made her debut on the UK singles chart in 2015 with her first single "Say Something" which peaked at number 7. She recently just released a new music video and single this year entitled "Open My Eyes". With her 80's themed videos and music , Karen is something the radio needs. She brings old school and modern pop together in a beautiful masterpiece for all generations to enjoy. I can't wait to see her shine this year. Follow her on Twitter @KarenHarden

Describe Bahja in one sentence. Bahja is God fearing, fun, caring, sensitive and a lover of music. What was your childhood like being around so many people in the entertainment industry? My childhood being around people in the entertainment industry was very fun. As a child, I actually didn’t really know the people I was around were in the entertainment industry. I just knew that I was always doing cool stuff and having fun. Did you always know you wanted to be a singer? Yes! I have been singing as long as I can remember. I remember sitting at my desk in 5th grade daydreaming about being on stage singing and performing. Singing and writing music is my passion. Did you always know as a child that you wanted to be a singer? Yes! I have been singing as long as I can remember. I remember sitting at my desk in 5th grade daydreaming about being on stage singing and performing. Singing and writing music is my passion. Did you ever feel more pressure to be even more amazing because of you being mentored by such amazing artist like Tiny? You know because I am such a perfectionist I am always under pressure. I never want to release a body of work that is short of amazing. I am very hard on myself and I strive to be great daily. How was school for you and what was your favorite memory? I actually enjoyed school a lot. One of my favorite memories is my ninth grade math class. Even though math is my least favorite subject my classmates always made it enjoyable and pleasant. The OMG Girl Phase How was it being in a girl group at such a young age? Being in a girl group at an early age was actually fun and rewarding. I am glad I was able to experience the music industry at such a young age because I was able to see and learn a lot. How did the OMG girlz come about and how old were you? My Auntie Tameka formed the OMG Girlz on her reality show Tiny and Toya. I was 12 years old.
"Surround yourself with people that believe in you as much if not more than you believe in yourself. "
"So Official was actually a song we recorded at the beginning when my sister Lourdes and Reginae were in the group. The song was actually complete. I’m not really sure why we never released it. "
What was your favorite memory from being in that girl group? WOW!! To be honest I don’t have a favorite memory. The girls and I made so many lifetime memories with each other. The memories we made together will always and forever be very special and dear to me.
Would you ever do another girl group if the opportunity came to you before going solo? Prior to me going solo I was in a girl group already. Had the group not disbanded I wouldn’t have left the group to be in another girl group. Once the group disbanded I did have an immediate opportunity to be in another group that I respectfully declined.
The OMG Girlz lasted for 7 years straight with a strong fan following. Why do you think it is very hard to keep girl groups together for a long time and what do you think kept the OMG Girlz together for so long and so strong? I think girl groups can be hard to keep together for a long time due to a variety of things but mainly due to a lack of communication. One thing my Auntie Tameka always told us was to always communicate with each other. She always taught us that whenever we have a disagreement to always talk it out, come to a resolution and move on instead of holding our feelings inside. Issue 27 | 234

9. My favorite song on the EP is "Maybe" , where did the inspiration come from for that song? Actually my good friend Forte Bowie wrote that song and I love it. When I heard the song it was so relatable to what i was feeling and going through at the time.
ON BULLYING & PERFECTION Yes I’ve been bullied before especially with being in the pubic eye. At first it would bother me but I grew thick skin and didn’t let it affect me. What advice would you give to one of your fans if they came to you and told you that they were being bullied in school?- I would tell him or her to tell their parents or a teacher first. It is not okay for anybody to bully anyone.
How do you feel about fashion magazine's photoshopping young women and kids to make them look "perfect" and what would you do if someone photoshopped one of your pictures? No-one is perfect so I really don’t see the point in photoshopping someone to make them look that way. It’s unrealistic. We all have flaws and embracing them is what’s important to me. I’ve never had that happen to me before but I wouldn’t like it
BAHJA'S TOP TIPS
FOR ASPIRING ARTISTS Bahja shares words of wisdom from her years of experience as a young singer.
BUSINESS First and foremost learn as much about the business as you possibly can
ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE THAT BELIEVE IN YOU AS MUCH IF NOT MORE THAN YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. .
