FALL IN LOVE WRITTEN BY RAYE REIGN

I fell like the crisp leaves on every tree this season. I couldn't help but notice so much on my way down. What did i notice you ask? The dreaminess of his eyes, the smoothness of his skin. The warmth of his smile every time he gave a grin. The built of his arms that held me close. That feeling of me not want to move in fear of letting go. The words he spoke stuck to me like clothes that I wore with pride everywhere I went. Several nights well spent. Wouldn't trade him for the world even if I was asked. Did i fall in love? Not yet but I've fallen somewhere.

JOSHUA RUSH Joshua plays 'Cyrus' on Disney Channel's 'Andi Mack. His character is a quirky, not athletic and a little bit awkward kid who is best friends with Andi. It is the number one kids show on television and was quickly renewed for a season season which began production in July. He can be heard in hit shows such as “Family Guy” and “The Cleveland Show”. On the big screen, fans may recognize his voice in movies such as “Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas”, “Mr. Peabody & Sherman", and "Escape from Planet Earth”. We got a chance to talk to this Texas native about his career.

What made you pick acting as a career? It wasn’t really me who picked it! From a very young age, my mom noticed that I loved to be in front of the camera, and she got me an acting coach and an agent in Houston, TX, where I grew up. My acting coach eventually told us we might be able to make it in Los Angeles, so we went out for three months to try it out! Eventually, we called my dad and told him we weren’t going back. The rest is history! At 15 you have such a huge resume, what as been your favorite show to act on and why?

time getting in to some of the death scenes in Sex, Death, And Bowling, where I played Eli. What about the Andi Mack script drew you to the show? I think reading the twist at the end of the pilot, and knowing it was Disney Channel, sealed the deal for me. I think a lot of kids dream about Disney Channel, and to be on a show that breaks the mold, but still stays within those classic Disney values, was incredibly cool. Do you relate to your character, Cyrus? I do relate to him because of Terri! She is not only an amazing writer, but also an incredible observer. Over the course of the episodes, I noticed how our characters became more and more like the actors who played them, and some lines and actions were even inspired by us! Which do you prefer; voice acting or on screen acting? I think they’re both different in their own right, but I love to be immersed in the action. Do you prefer serious roles or comedy?

I love to laugh, so part of me is drawn to comedy, I don’t like to pick between my roles, it feels like but I also love to get in touch with my emotions choosing between my children! I’ve loved on a serious role. That one’s a toss-up. working as Cyrus on Andi Mack though, because I relate to him so much. What is your advice to teens who want to get into acting? Who has been the easiest character and toughest character to play? It’s hard. For every one yes, there’s a thousand no’s. You have to have thick skin, be willing to There really are no easy or hard characters for work at it, and still get lucky. Every actor you see me. I put in the same amount of work in on the big screen has worked hard and made the researching and feeling the backstory of the right decision over and over again, with a lot of character with each of them. I did have a hard luck sprinkled in.

TOBI MUST HAVES FALL IS HERE and we got some goodies from Tobi to help set your wardrobe off right. Tobi is a California based online shop that has everything you could ever want to wear. We picked out some pieces to help you get into the Fall spirit!

QT JAZZ Jasmine Robinson better known as QT Jazz is a 21 year old singer and dancer from the land of music , Atlanta. The name 'QT JAZZ' originally came from a group she was in with former OMG Girlz member Zonnique'. The name of the group was QT Possie. "Out of the group, I was QT Jazz. I hate the name (lol), but it always stuck with me. Some people just call me QT, so I just roll with it. She was basically born into the music industry as her mother was a business manager for some of the industries leading talent. We started the chat off light and asked her to describe herself in one sentence. "I am the light that confuses that darkness, result of grace, and harmony" she replied. A response like no other. Follow her on social media Instagram + Facebook + Twitter _ @QTJAZZ Official Website _ IAmQTJAZZ.com

What about the music industry made you realize that I'm like her little sister. My mom does a lot of business this was what you wanted to do? management for people and so I've known her since I was a baby girl. I've always looked up to her and now The MUSIC (not the industry) is a powerful thing. The that I'm older, I can hang a bit! effect music can have on people is sometimes unreal. It's kind of like magic. It's a universal language. It's unity. Zonnique and you have been close for a very long time. It's something I wanted to be apart of. How did the collaboration come about and what is your relationship like? After recording B Side (with 7 songs) ' So Unaverge' was you first album. Why the title and I felt like something was missing. I recorded one more what did you want people to take away when listening song for the heck of it and realized I didn't have any to it? features! I called her and within 2 weeks she did it! We aren't able to hang out as much as we use to when we I just remember always wanting to stick out from were little girls, but the bond is still there and evident everybody and be different being not "average". Also, every time we are around each other. It's like we're back to serve as a announcement to everyone of who I was, in preschool together! but the gag was I was only 12 so I didn't know much about myself (I realize now). I didn't have a big creative Why is dance an important aspect to learn as a hand in that project, but it later paid off when I did my performer? recently released EP, B Side. I knew I wanted to tell a story that was true, interesting, and mines. It's been quite Dancing for me an putting a vision to the words and music a journey from 12 to 21. I'm making. Some people say they are 'visual learners". That's for them. The music video and single for 'Heels and Bags' was very successful. How fun was it on set with, at the time, Your performances are very energetic and well done. 'OMG Girls'? What is one thing you think keeps the crowds you preform in front of coming back for more? Thank you! Being on set was so much fun with the girls as always! Our relationship was never an industry Thank you! I think what keeps someone coming back is relationship. We were all real, genuine friends and the the experience you have while watching. That's atmosphere was real and genuine. We would would yell something you can't get by listening to the music in the and cheer each other on as we did our solos for the video. car or looking at the videos on YouTube. You must come! We still will come support each other individually and do that till this day! Your fashion is amazing. How do you go about picking pieces? Why the title B-Side and what is the album about? I'm a bit spoiled being as though my mom did a lot of "B Side" is the flip side to a vinyl record from back in Margi Gras costumes when she was growing up. She can the day. It was where the artist explored and found make anything she sees. I would draw something themselves. It wasn't so popular. It was symbolic to me (depending on my current obsession) and she could make in a sense that maybe I didn't make those groups, get on it. those tv shows, or I'm not so popular, but if I take some time to explore and find myself, that could be my story. What are your thoughts about the need to be 'perfect' I could be the B Side. in this industry? The music video 'She Can Ask Me' was amazing. How was it like on set with all those amazing people including Tamar Braxton? Great! We shot the entire video in one day so it was a lot of work, but one of my best videos to date. Tamar came in to do her part right before leaving town and I appreciate that because she ALWAYS looks out! We see you working with Tamar Braxton a lot. What is your relationship with her and how did you meet her?

You have to find balance and boundaries on what you are willing and not willing to do to be "perfect" PRIOR to indulging yourself into this industry. What is one thing you think people miss when first coming into the industry? Guidance. Who you admire, who you look up to is very important. You have to choose wisely. Continue to learn more

Top 5 Tips For Greatness. Written by Gabby Fabrizio

It’s the time of the year when many of us will be starting back to school, college or university, and what better chance for me to talk to you about helpful tips for making the most of this year and being as productive as you can. There is nothing worse than feeling like you are having an unproductive year, when you know your capabilities. So that is why, I have come up with my top 5 tips to help you reach your full potential and push yourself in the most positive and constructive way possible.

Sleep is something which is so natural, yet so many of us don’t get enough. I know first hand just how hard it is sometimes to sleep at night, but sometimes an early night or a day of sleeping does you the world of good. When you have a lot of work to do, an all nighter seems like the best approach. This will negatively impact your work. You will begin to deteriorate and loose focus on what you are producing, and it won’t be the best work you can do. Take early nights around your deadlines so that you are refreshed and ready for a full day of studying.

Look After Your Mental Health

Don’t be afraid to ask for help

I really can’t stress this point enough. You need to look after your mental health no matter what because if you don’t you could suffer negatively. If you already suffer with a mental health issue, make sure you know how to manage it effectively so that the stress and pressure of your work load doesn't have a negative impact upon your mental health issue. Likewise, even if you don’t have a mental health issue, keep an eye out for the warning signs of one developing in yourself and people around you. Supporting your friends is just as important as looking after you mental health. I can’t recommend the website “MIND” enough. It has just the right amount of information to inform you about the various mental health issues, without overloading you with information that doesn't make sense. Before you start back, take an hour and have a look around the site.

So many people are scared of asking others for help. Don’t be!!! It is so often for students to not really have a clue what is going on, but be to scared to ask for help. The teachers are there to help you and they won’t be angry or annoyed when you ask for help!! Eat Well It is very tempting to grab the first takeaway when you are stressed but this will not do anything for you!! Make sure that you eat regular meals, and keep hydrated - aim to drink 2 litres, or more, of water per day!

From myself, and all of us here, we want to wish you good luck for your new venture, we know you can do it! And we’d love to hear about your success, so drop us a line and let us know how you get on!

Be Organized Chat with Gabby on twitter @gabbyfabarizio or There is no harm in starting how you mean to go on her personal blog at gabbyfabirizio.com on - in an organised fashion. Once you receive your timetable, make multiple copies of it, colour coordinate it and place it in your bedroom in a place that you will see it every day. That way, you will begin to look at it and be able to organise yourself for your day ahead. For example, if you had Maths on a Tuesday, on the Monday night when glancing at your timetable you’d notice this be able to ensure you have everything prepared for that lesson and any outstanding work completed. FETISH

I STILL BELIEVE IN FAIRYTALES WRITTEN BY JASMINE MATOS

I'm a hopeless romantic. I love those gushy romantic comedies, and the wistful novels about finding true love. As a young girl I would sit on the edge of my window seat and pretend I was a princess waiting for her Prince Charming to save her. Now as a 20 year old woman... some of those dreams have faded around the edges. I still have my bright doe eyed fantasies about being swept away, but I'm also wary of getting my heart broken... isn't everyone? In an age where social media and the internet are so prevalent, love has been subjected to "behind a phone screen flirting" and rarely face to face contact. I love the idea of a old fashioned dinner and a movie, a drive in movie date, or a night of dancing and watching the stars. I long to find another soul like mine- someone to connect with. Until then, I'll just be flipping through fairytales, dreaming of a time when love swept you off your feet...without glancing at your phone. I still believe in fairytales... and I think you should too.

BEAUTY BY BECCA Sept Topic 'Body Image' Written by Rebbeca Fenemore

Everyone has different perceptions of body image. The aesthetics or sexual attractiveness of your own body has a huge effect on some people and can have catastrophic consequences. The pressure nowadays to have the ‘perfect’ body is increasing each day. Social media plays a big role in the pressure and the possible situations which individuals can find themselves in. Being involved in dance and performing arts, I have seen some extreme cases. Some of the most common illnesses of body image are anorexia and bulimia, but having both combined is a living nightmare. The determination to be the best dancer and performer, along with the constant knock backs, causes some individuals to begin to overthink as to why they aren’t the best. By viewing successful dancers on social media or regularly seeing their friends in a dance class, does take its toll because each individual is comparing themselves to someone else.

Being surrounded by mirrors and competition just increases the risk of suffering from an eating disorder surrounding body image. Anorexia and bulimia are mental illnesses, and the continuous fight with both is something nobody should have to go through. Body image shouldn’t be everything, it shouldn’t be all about how your body looks. It is all about how you feel about your body without looking at the typical social media body images. Everybody is different and it should be celebrated. As for my fellow dancers or sportsman, don’t allow body image to stop you from achieving your dreams. It isn’t everything, in fact, if you have the determination and passion for what you do then keep in your lane, and block everyone and everything else out and focus on yourself.

BILLIE EILISH By Natalia Vรกzquez Image by Jack McKain

Hello there! My name is Natalia Vázquez. I’m a nineteen year-old writer from Mexico City and a soon-to-be Journalism major. Music and writing are my main forms of self expression, but I enjoy all art forms, as well as learning about new things every day. Every month, I’ll be dedicating this space towards different individuals that have made me reevaluate my perspective on art, priviledge, and mental health; I’m hoping they make as much as an impact on you as they have on me.

proof that she’s captivating in every aspect of the word Her second single, bellyache, exceeded my expectations, not that I assumed I would be disappointed, but it definitely wasn’t what I anticipated at all. When I first saw the title, I imagined a ‘butterflies in my stomach’ ballad, not a ‘serial killer on the loose’ dark chorus. I could sense this vibe on artists like Melanie Martinez, Lana del Rey or Lorde, yet I’m pleased that this songwriting gem came from a rising new singer.

For this issue, I chose singer and songwriter Billie Eilish (born Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell), who’s currently on her first headlining tour and recently released her debut EP Don’t Smile At Me-- an 8 song project written entirely by her and her older brother Finneas, who produced the record by himself. Her first single, Ocean Eyes was released on 2015 via Soundcloud, a song Finneas had written and she had asked to record so that her dance teacher could choreograph to it. After getting signed to Interscope Records, the song was released officially on November 2016, and a few months after, a few remixes of the song were released as well; The Astronomyy remix went viral and reached number 25 on Billboard’s Spotify Velocity Chart. When I first heard it, I relished on how relatable and beautifully written the song was, I thought about the voice that accompanied the melody, and the story behind it, but it never occurred to me that the girl singing it hadn’t even reached voting age yet. Despite being fifteen, her music is honest bold, and uncommon for a teenager-- a statement that extends to her intrepid persona, where her translucent turquoise eyes and pastel colored hair are as distinctive as her fashion statements,

Mi personal favorites on the record, COPYCAT and idontwannabeyouanymore represent a deep contrast within the content of the album where stardom lyricism prevails. Yet it’s not only sonic artistry that Eilish aims for, but also a visual aspect that matches her synesthesia (a condition consisting of an overlapping of the senses, such as seeing colors in music, or sensing taste in shapes). Her music videos are as vibrant as her wardrobe, where you can see her sporting

mostly bright colors such as yellow, red and blue that she pairs with heavy chains and jewelry; these, fulfill her enticing capacity for vision, a quality she boasts with pride, claiming she ‘always knows what she wants’. This year, she additionally released a song for the 13 Reasons Why Soundtrack, called Bored and a music video along with it, where she climbs, sits and swings on a ladder in an allblue outfit and white background, conveying the calmness after getting over a turmoil filled relationship. Eilish was also a dancer up until last year, when she had to quit after being badly injured; she used to spend 11 hours at the studio every week, before deciding to pursue a singing career and focusing entirely on her music. However, she has been writing since she was 12 and has been singing for even longer. Growing up in a musical household, there’s no So far, she has caught the attention of some of doubt that creativity is in her blood and she’s Hollywood’s biggest stars, including: Charlie bound to succeed in all her future endeavors. XCX, Madison Beer, Tove Lo, etc,, a sign that she’s found her niche: an ever-growing career in the music industry and a name built on raw talent.

MACY KATE

Rocker turned pop/rnb singer, Macy Kate is ready to take the world by storm. Stamped by Flo Rida, Sean Kingston, LA Reid and the 700k + subscribers on her YouTube who watch her videos daily, Macy is in her own lane. The 22 year old is gearing up to release her original single ' Property' in October and fans couldn't be more excited. A hit? We already know it. The title fits her perfectly as Macy is an independent artist with signature platinum blonde hair who is no ones property. Not only does she do music but fans also know her as a beauty guru among the YouTube fashion community. We went in dept to find all about Macy and her journey to being this social media star she is today. You started on X Factor. How was it like being on such a big show? "Reality singing shows to me are such an amazing way to see if you REALLY want to be in the music business and if you have the mind set for the game... because it is a game. Your success depends on how well you navigate the gray areas when things aren't so great." What is your advice to future contestants? "My advice would be to pick songs that are special to your voice, cut to the best 30 to 45 seconds of the song that you can master and showcase that. You don't have to sing the whole song...even turning a pop song into a ballad or the other way around a ballad into an up tempo song." How did you meet Flo Rida and get signed? "I want showcasing for multiple labels and I really loved Flos work ethic, demeanor and his track record. I have learned so much from him and appreciate and am grateful for all he has taught me. I signed to his label IMG Strongarm after a show for music executives in Ft. Lauderdale." How has that journey with him been? "Flo is one of the most humble and smart entertainers you will ever meet. I have learned lessons in patience, gratitude, respect and knowing my craft. There's no easy way to become successful in music unless you respect the process and timing.

That was the single most important lesson I learned and of course, touring the world with a marquee artist like Flo was amazing. My favorite show was at Wemblry Stafium where backstage we hung out with Will I Am and Arianna. Just crazy."

taught me to have the confidence to stay true to my sound and to not be afraid to turn down songs if I'm not feeling it. "

You sang the theme song for both The Swan Princess: Royally Undercover and The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today. The song 'Born to be me' sends a powerful message to young girls about being yourself. Why do you think it's important to stay true to yourself in the industry and as a regular person?

"It's a super ill combination of R&B pop and soul ... up tempo and mid tempo. "

What will this new music sound like?

You are also a beauty guru on YouTube. How did you get into fashion and makeup?

I was constantly on set for music videos, tv or live shows and always getting my make up done or "Social Media has a bad habit of showing everyone preparing for the shows with professionals so it your highlight reel in comparison to regular life. was a natural transition to share what I learned and Social Media makes you appear that everything is teach others about my favorite beauty products. perfect when it definitely is not perfect. So staying true to you is so important. " Do you plan to ever design your own clothing line or makeup collection? Have you ever had anyone in the industry try to change you? if so how did you handle it? "YAS!!!!! I cannot wait to have my own makeup palette and clothing line. I have been working "I have had many stylist try to die my hair lol and towards that for many years and have been waiting try to get me to wear certain styles and at the end for the right opportunity. " of the day I have learned to trust myself. That works for me best." What are your thoughts on people feeling like they need make up to look 'perfect'? What is the importance of writing 7 and 8 on your hands? "I'm really all about body positive attitudes. I am not one for the perfect look. Definitely not me." "I started writing 7/8 to remind me that even if doors slam in your face 7 times, that 8th time might How do you choose your fashion pieces? be your break so don't give up ...keep working at your goals and dreams" "I love fashion and I love vintage stores, thrift stores When can we expect original music? "My original music is s reflection of what I have been going through with my last relationship. I have been told that what I experienced at 18 to 19 with my ex is more than most people experience in a lifetime. So I tried to capture all the parts good and bad, love and hurt, betrayal and forgiveness, mean and vulgar moments. It's all there in this body of work. All of my songs have a lesson in them." When it comes to original music, are you a perfectionist? "I do have my way of approaching music and Flo

and my idols' fashion Vibe like Rihanna. " What is your go to outfit? "Black on black on black with Versace boots." What is your goal for your career? "I cannot wait to tour the world with my original music and live to see people smiling and vibing and helping people forget about their problems with my music."
