hile lovers were having Valentine’s Day dinner, members of SF State’s Anime FX club held a maid and butler themed cafe in Jack Adams Hall. According to one of the club’s officers, freshman Meri Hambalek, the club wanted to take advantage of the
holiday that coincided with their open house. “It’s Valentine’s Day, so why not have a maid cafe for people that have nothing to do that day?” she said. During the four-hour event, there were several men and women dressed as anime style butlers and maids greeting club members. A maid and a butler
stood by the guests’ tables, while about 80 attendees were treated to food and several dance performances. Hambalek gave two performances at the beginning of the event and introduced the performances from the guests of honor: Ti@mi, a dance duo, see STUDENTS on page 6
