When we imagined the Inaugural My Hollywood PRIDE for 2022, we wanted to create a safe space for the local LGBTO+ Community to come together and welcome friends and allies from the local community. Our vision was to share our LGBTQ history, culture, art, in celebration of Pride in Hollywood. The reception for the inaugural event was overwhelming and we knew our model for a pride event that looked and felt different was proven. In 2023, our team built on what we learned in 2022 and focused on those features to improve and expand the event. We moved our main stage, made it bigger, and invested more in the production value. We expanded our programming for kids and teens and honed our unique brand. Our theme for 2023 was "Welcome Home" and we made it a focus that everyone knew they found home and community in Hollywood! Our efforts were rewarded and resulted in doubling our attendance, adding 25% more vendors (and sold out space), increasing our staff with 40% more volunteers - and proved Hollywood’s space as a progressive and inclusive city! We welcomed more women, more young people, more people of color and those of trans experience, who came out and celebrated the festival with us. My Hollywood PRIDE is the first Pride event each year anywhere in the world. And in 2024, we will welcome everyone home with our message, “PRIDE STARTS HERE!” As a 2024 sponsor of My Hollywood Pride, you will be showcased for your support of diversity and inclusion in our community and reach thousands of locals and visitors in the process. My Hollywood Pride is a celebration of our individual, authentic identity and our Pride event belongs to each one of us. The City of Hollywood has participated in The Human Rights Campaign's annual Municipal Equality Index since its inception in 2012.
