Judges Alix Madigan-Yorkin Alix Madigan-Yorkin produced Winter’s Bone, directed by Debra Granik, winner of the Grand Jury Prize for best dramatic feature at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010, and nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture. She served in various producing capacities on the cult comedy Smiley Face, directed by Gregg Araki and starring Anna Faris, Married Life, directed by Ira Sachs and starring Rachel McAdams, Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson, Cleaner, directed by Renny Harlin, starring Samuel L. Before joining Anonymous Content, she worked at Propaganda Films, Skouras Pictures, and Avenue Entertainment.

Amy Baer Amy Baer is a film executive with nearly 25 years experience in Hollywood that has spanned talent agencies, major studios, and independent distribution companies. The films she has supervised have grossed more than $1.8 billion to date in worldwide box-office. Ms. Baer is currently serving as a consultant to CBS Films (a division of CBS Corporation), an independent movie studio that she launched in 2007. She is prepping her first feature as a producer, Last Vegas, written by Dan Fogelman (Crazy Stupid Love) and to be directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure). From 2007-2011, Ms. Baer served as President & CEO of CBS Films, whose inaugural slate of films in 2010 included the Jennifer Lopez romantic comedy The Back Up Plan, The Mechanic starring Jason Statham, and Beastly, starring Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer. Dana Brunetti Dana Brunetti is the president of Trigger Street Productions, a production company founded by Kevin Spacey in 1997. An innovator in social networking, Mr. Brunetti launched Trigger Street Labs in 2002—an online platform dedicated to discovering and showcasing undiscovered screenwriting and filmmaking talent. In 2009, he produced the film The Social Network, directed by David Fincher, written by Aaron Sorkin and based on Ben Mezrich’s book about the creation of Facebook, The Accidental Billionaires. This was his second collaboration with Mezrich; in 2008 Brunetti produced the film 21, which was based on Mezrich’s Bringing Down The House. George Furla After graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in business administration, George Furla started his business career with Cantor Fitzgerald and Company. At Cantor Fitzgerald he served as an equity trader from 1982 to 1985. After Cantor Fitzgerald, Mr. Furla worked with Jones and Associates for 3 years in a similar capacity. In 1988, Mr. Furla left Jones and Associates to establish and run the hedge fund DEWEY CHEATHAM & HOWE, which he did for ten years before leaving to form a film production company with his partner, Randall Emmett. At Emmett/Furla Films, Mr. Furla utilizes his hedge fund experience to model film financing scenarios. Mr. Furla and Mr. Emmett share responsibility in both concept development and arrangement of the financing of the films. Emmett/Furla Films has produced a large number of films including End of Watch, Broken City, The Frozen Ground, Rambo, 16 Blocks, Wickerman, Righteous Kill, Conan the Barbarian and, the upcoming films The Tomb, 2 Guns, and Empire State.

Ivan Reitman Director/Producer Ivan Reitman is the creative force behind films beloved by audiences around the world for over four decades The career that has brought about so many laughs began in Canada, where his family emigrated from Czechoslovakia when he was four years old. Mr. Reitman studied music at McMaster University, but soon turned his talents to film and theater. Shortly after graduation, Mr. Reitman delved into film production with the extremely lowbudget horror comedy Cannibal Girls. He soon headed to New York City and produced the Broadway hit The Magic Show and continued producing for the stage, earning Tony nominations for directing and producing along the way. While in New York, Mr. Reitman joined forces with National Lampoon to create Animal House. Following the success of that film, Mr. Reitman returned home to Canada to direct Meatballs, the first of many classic collaborations with Bill Murray. The string of hits he directed continued with Stripes and the Ghostbusters” series, Dave, Legal Eagles, 6 Days/ 7 Nights, Evolution, and a series of films that revealed the untapped comic talent of action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger: Twins, Junior and Kindergarten Cop.
Reitman’s equally impressive list of producing credits includes the family feature Beethoven, the Emmy-nominated The Late Shift, Heavy Metal, Space Jam, and Old School. In 1984, the National Association of Theater Owners honored Reitman as Director of the Year and the next year received a Special Achievement Award at the Canadian Genie awards. In November of 1994, Reitman became the third director honored by Variety magazine in a special “Billion Dollar Director” issue. At the end of 2000, the American Film Institute honored Animal House and Ghostbusters as two of the century’s funniest movies. He currently heads The Montecito Picture Company, a film and television production company, with partner Tom Pollock. Reitman has been married to former Quebec film actress Genevieve Robert for over 30 years. Together, they have three children and live in Santa Barbara, California.
Ms. Hall is involved with over 50 projects in various stages of production and development, including Mockingbird, Plush, Dark Skies, Curve, The Bay, The Babymakers, Sinister, and Lords of Salem. After joining the DreamWorks story department in 2006, Ms. Hall served as Executive Assistant to Marc Haimes, a Senior Production Executive working on the development, production and distribution of such films as Hotel for Dogs, The Heartbreak Kid, Disturbia and Transformers I & II. In 2009, she joined Marc to form Elevation Pictures, where she was promoted to Creative Executive. The company’s first two projects, Elevator Men and Jitters, sold to Summit Entertainment and Paramount, respectively.

Mean Girls, written by Tina Fey, became one of the most talked-about films of the year and won three MTV Movie Awards, including one for Lindsay Lohan as Best Actress. Waters followed in 2005 with the fantasy comedy romance Just Like Heaven, starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo, and in 2008 he directed the acclaimed family adventure The Spiderwick Chronicles, adapted from the popular book series. Waters went on to direct 2009’s Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, starring Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and Michael Douglas, and 2011’s Mr. Popper’s Penguins, based on the classic children’s book, with Jim Carrey in the role of Popper.
Mark Waters Mark Waters, a graduate of the directing program at the American Film Institute, made his feature film directorial debut with the dark comedy indie hit The House of Yes. Nancy Utley Nancy Utley was appointed President of Fox Searchlight Pictures in 2009 and charged with jointly managing all aspects of the company including production, acquisitions, marketing and distribution alongside fellow President Stephen Gilula. Ms. Utley was named one of Ad Age’s Top 50 Marketers in 2003, received the prestigious Step Up Women’s Network Inspiration Award in 2007, was one of Ad Age’s Top Entertainment Marketers in 2008 and was honored with the “Loop Award” by Lupus LA at the Orange Ball in 2009.
Patton Oswalt Patton continues to find success in all areas of entertainment, most recently releasing the DVD version of his Grammy-nominated comedy special Finest Hour, on April 24th, a few days after it premiered on Comedy Central. He was also recognized this year for his work on the big screen, nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award for his performance in Jason Reitman’s 2011 film, Young Adult, starring opposite Charlize Theron. In 2009 Mr. Oswalt received critical acclaim for his performance in Robert Siegel’s Big Fan, which was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and earned him a Gotham Award nomination for his performance. In 2009, Patton received his first Grammy nomination, for the album My Weakness Is Strong. Randall Emmett One of the entertainment industry’s most prolific film producers, Randall Emmett has produced over 50 feature films. Combining a sharp financial sensibility with an equally astute eye for great filmmaking, Emmett has been a partner and part-owner with George Furla of Emmett/Furla Films for the past decade. He also is Partner and Founder of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s production company, Cheetah Vision Films. With a reputation for packaging movies and actually getting them made – no small feat in a town full of good intentions – Emmett’s films have made more than one quarter of a billion dollars at the US box office. They have been seen around the world, at festivals such as Sundance, Toronto, Berlin, Venice, Telluride, and many have been nominated for Independent Spirit Awards and Golden Globe Awards. Emmett is currently in pre production for two films, 2 Guns, written by Steven Grant/Blake Master and will be directed by Baltasar Kormákur, starring Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington. Stuart Wurtzel Stuart Wurtzel received an Academy Award nomination for his work as a production designer on Woody Allen’s Hannah and Her Sisters. He also designed Allen’s Purple Rose of Cairo as well as three films by Peter Yates: Suspect, The House on Carroll Street and An Innocent Man. He has designed several projects for HBO, including Mike Nichols’ production of Wit, Angels In America, for which he won both an Emmy Award and an Art Directors’ Guild Award, and, most recently, Empire Falls, for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award and won an Art Directors’ Guild Award. Wurtzel’s numerous other feature credits include: Stepmom, Hair, Mermaids,

Wurtzel’s first feature film design credit was Joan Micklin Silver’s Hester Street, on which he collaborated with his wife, Patrizia von Brandenstein. Raised in Hillside, New Jersey, Wurtzel studied scenic design at Carnegie Mellon University, earning an MFA degree. He began working as a theatrical stage designer with four seasons as resident designer at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and three seasons at Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park. After moving to New York, Wurtzel designed numerous Broadway productions including Summer Brave, Unexpected Guests, and Wally’s Café. OffBroadway credits include Gimme Shelter at BAM; Sorrows of Stephen (for which he won the Joseph Maharam Award for Stage Design) and Henry IV, Part I for the New York Shakespeare Festival. On television, Wurtzel’s design for Little Gloria…Happy At Last earned him an Emmy Award nomination for Art Direction.
