Hello Members, The year is nearly done. I hope you are all coping with this warmer weather at last. Surprisingly although it has been a fairly mild Spring the lack of rain has had me watering the garden over the weekend. I hope for some better falls this week to freshen things up again. We had a small gathering for our October meeting, with members doing some preparation work for the exhibition and working on other projects. Sidney finally styled her juniperus squamata and the result was very pleasing. Our Annual Exhibition was again a credit to our small club, what we lack in members we make up for in the quality of trees and a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Our overall visitor numbers were down for the weekend so it seems the lovely gardens setting may not be the best when there are so many other events on in the town. Something for us to discuss leading into next years planning. I would like to thank all those who participated in the setup, running of and then pack up over the three days. It was great to have Steve, Ian and Glenn provide trees for the exhibition. Hopefully it rekindles their enthusiasm for bonsai and participation in the club. I have included some photo’s on page two and three. This Sunday we have our final meeting and Christmas breakup. If we can all bring a salad or sweet to share and your own meat for the BBQ plus drinks. It was decided to have a Kris Kringle again this year, so those who want to participate please bring a wrapped present (up to $15) to add to the pile under the tree. I hope you can all get along to our Christmas breakup on Sunday to celebrate a successful exhibition and another enjoyable day out with friends. Paul
