Hello Members, What a nice cold, wet winter we are finally getting in the Central Victoria area. I have emptied over 30mm out of the rain gauge on two occasions and was stuck inside neglecting my bonsai last weekend as well. Hopefully your tanks, dams and gardens are filling and thriving. Last month we had a general workshop day with many in attendance. Helen has a summary on the next page along with a few photos I snapped on the day. This month we are trying something a little different, a Bonsai Moss Garden. On doing a Google search, I managed to find many cool pictures for inspiration. It will be interesting to see what our Members manage to put together. There is no shortage of moss growing locally this winter. I’ll be bringing along some I have collected from the carpark at work. It grows in the sun and has been undisturbed for several years so should be tough. It was interesting reading the forums about moss and bonsai. If you plan to have moss in the sun, you need to ensure the moss you are collecting comes from a sunny position, as many do not cope with too much sun and therefor will not survive, as your trees should all be out enjoying the sunshine for most of the day. There are few upcoming bonsai exhibitions and events over the next few weeks and months. It is always good to see how other clubs run their exhibitions and being able to study trees one on one is great for learning and inspiration. Have a look on the back page for events. That’s enough from me, I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday. Paul

June Meeting Our June meeting was well attended. We worked on our trees and then discussed our upcoming exhibition. Helen, Trevor and Glenn brought along their Hebel stone planting started at a club workshop. A few spare Hebel blocks were given to our new members to work on at home. We discussed our upcoming exhibition in Daylesford and our dig site for August. Helen
