XPLORING the Costa del Sol will mean finding beautiful landscapes, inviting beaches, rich culture, fascinating traditions - and, of course, tons of golf. Nowhere epitomises this more than at the charming San Roque Club. hosted the Spanish Open, its turn coming a year later in 2006. The course closely resembles a links in many areas - big, steep bunkering and large greens - although it is a parkland set up. The Hotel Almenara is a peaceful resort set on a hill in the heart of its very own golf course. The greens are distinctive due to extraordinary shaping work, a characteristic which allows for a lot different pin positions.
