THE NAVITAS 4WD THIS CUSTOM EV HAS TORQUE TO SPARE
When Navitas Electric Vehicle Systems decided they wanted to create a custom built cart for unveiling at the PGA Show in Orlando in January 2023, they put their collective heads together to create a truly impressive, 4-wheel drive cart that would catch the attention of attendees.
Navitas manufactures an extensive line of premium electrical components for the golf and Neighborhood Electric Vehicle, (NEV), industry, as well as complete chassis kits in a variety of materials and configurations. The company is based in Canada with a large warehouse facility in Augusta, Georgia. Their chassis kits come complete with all the components needed to create the ultimate cart, including full suspension systems, brakes and all the related parts needed to install them, and their dealers take care of adding custom tires, wheels and other top-of-the-line accessories.
Todd Dussault, the company’s Director of Sales, points out that the way Navitas chassis arrive is a unique way of selling their products. “It allows the customer to see the actual bones of the vehicle and see exactly the lengths we go to in order to provide the best electric vehicle chassis available today. It provides a completely scalable platform for our dealers to fabricate the exact cart our customers envision.”
The PGA Show was the perfect place to unveil their newest chassis featuring their advanced 4WD technology and fabrication. The cart features 2 controllers and 2 motors on each axle, providing unmatched torque and smooth operating power to all 4 wheels.
“We wanted a custom cart that showcased our 4WD components and electronic operating systems to the max, and we feel great about the way the final product came out,” said Dussault.
The company’s latest effort is a stunning behemoth created from their desire to push the envelope. The cart began as a 2023 Navitas FSK 4WD chassis with dual 5kw motors and dual 600 amp controller units. The cart is equipped with the Eco Battery® 51v/105ah lithium battery pack, and features a 4-passenger configuration with rear-facing seating for 2.
All The Bells And Whistles
Outfitting this new monster with only the best available accessories and high tech components was a no brainer for the team at Navitas. This new build includes things like independent front and rear suspension, hydraulic disc brakes all around, coil overs, a fully street legal, LED lighting system, WetSounds® Stealth6 Bluetooth soundbar, seat belts all around, and much more. “We wanted to make sure this cart had all the latest comforts and conveniences available today, so we set out to use top-of-the-line components and accessories,” said Dussault.
Other key features include the Denali black custom diamond stitch seating front and rear and padded rear armrests and cup holders, with the rear seats folding down to offer a storage platform, and a custom Gussi® steering wheel. The extended, 80-inch black top and folding tinted windshield protect you from the elements.
For added bling and the ultimate in creature comforts, Navitas added a Stage 1® LED under-glow lighting package, custom 12-inch wheels carrying 23-inch, all terrain tires perfect for tough outdoor use, plus a fully digital, state-of-the-art dash with speedometer, odometer, charging meter and USB ports.
All of the Navitas cart platforms are well suited for custom projects because they arrive at their dealers as blank canvases, perfect for adding all of the options and accessories for any need. Whether lifted or non-lifted, configured with 2, 4 or 6 seats or outfitted with a large cargo bed, Navitas offers just the right cart for fabricators to use their creativity in producing their one-off wonders.
Navitas goes all-in at events like the Orlando PGA show, renting a large home to invite potential customers, dealers, and other electric vehicles to their annual after party event, stocked with dozens of carts in all styles, designs and configurations. “This is one of the most effective ways we have found for people to get up close and personal with Navitas and all of our available products,” Dussault says. “We always have a good time and are motivated by how much people like our products and the excitement they create in the electric vehicle market.”
Just one of the things that has propelled Navitas to the top of the golf and neighborhood electric vehicle market is their embrace of the technology that sets them apart. The company offers a cloud-based tech support app that can send a realtime alert to Navitas indicating any type of potential issue or troubleshooting problem, instantly pinpointing the problem, and eliminating the need for a call to tech support. The hightech app is also used for adjusting the performance of each individual cart, allowing the customer to set parameters for speed control and other functions depending on whether they’re climbing rough terrain or just letting the grandkids cruise around your neighborhood.
Navitas is a major player in the manufacture and distribution of premium frames, parts and accessories designed with a passion for building the ultimate electric vehicle for a wide variety of uses from the golf course to neighborhood family fun.
