AROEIRA PINES CLASSIC

Only 25 km from Lisbon, Located in a protected pine woodland and close to the coastal town of Caparica, Aroeira is a unique estate comprising of two golf courses and a host of impressive mansions. Designed by Frank Pennink and opened in 1973, Aroeira I was affectionately christened the ‘Wentworth of Lisbon’ by the UK press and it is easy to see why.

Played through tall avenues of pine forest and surrounded by wildlife and nature, the golf course plays to 6,650 yards and demands accuracy and placement off the tee in order to maximise opportunities to hit the target greens in regulation.

The course was the venue for the Portuguese Open in 1996 and 1997 and, in addition to staging several Ladies’ European Tour events, has hosted numerous prestigious national and international tournaments.
