SHOW CIRCUS STUDIO When you go to the circus and see a trapeze artist dangling from 50 feet in the air, or a tightrope walker teetering on a cord no thicker than your thumb, do you ever think to yourself “I’d like to try that”? Your first answer might be “NOPE”! But the circus arts are actually much more approachable than you think...

FROM THE MANAGING EDITOR . G. MICHAEL DOBBS

As you read this edition of Go Local, the promise of autumn is just around the corner. Granted September can feel a little like August, but sooner or later the temperatures will begin to drop, the leaves will turn and another season will be ushered in. Fall inevitably means there are a lot of things to do in our region. If you take a look at the local events list there is just a smattering of the activities September brings. For most people September means a trip to the Big E to enjoy something new and something familiar. Let’s face it: people who say that nothing changes at the Big E are missing the point. Part of the glory of one of the largest fairs in the nation is having the annual opportunity of eating a corn dog, riding a ride with your kids and looking at the farm animals. I embrace the fact the Big is a combination of the new and the traditional. What I’ve discovered over the years is everyone who is a Big E fan creates their own experience by doing the things they love. For me, I have to be dragged out of the Better Living Center as I’m fascinated by the new merchandise featured every year there as well as the pitches made by the sales people. Many years, I’ve taken a pledge not to buy new gadgets. But as enjoyable as the Big E is - and for me it is quite a blast - our area offers so much more. Just take a look at page 18. If you like fairs, try the Four Town Fair in Somers, CT, from Sept. 12 through Set. 15. The traditional elements of a county fair are featured such as livestock shows and farm exhibits. South Windsor, CT, also presents an agricultural fair from Sept. 5 through Sept. 8. The Wapping Fair will have its 127th annual edition and will feature many musical acts such as Connecticut’s own Screaming Eagles Band to Mariachi Colonial to Collective Difference. Suffield, CT has its 16th annual Farm Fest on Sept. 2 that celebrates the farming experience. Like craft beer? Wine? Look Park in Northampton is hosting the fourth annual Pioneer Beer and Wine Festival on Sept. 28. Musical performances in September are also a staple. The Shriners are presenting its Music Fezival at the Three County Fairgrounds on Sept. 7 and will feature King Kountry, Southern Rain, Cottonwood, Aaron Tippin, Collin Ray and Sammy Kershaw. In our list we also mention the Arcadia Folk Festival in Easthampton on the grounds of the Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary on Sept. 28. Performers there include martin Sexton, Dar Williams, Little Roots and The Mammals, among others. Fall is also the time for many communities to throw themselves a party. Wilbraham, Granby, CT, South Windsor, CT and Westfield are all celebrating with annual events. In Westfield, the 70th anniversary of the founding of Stanley Park will be noted with party on Sept. 7. The event will raise funds for the repair of the Rose Garden Fountain and will feature entertainment by The Rock Duo, Westfield’s own Harry Rock & John Severance, and food by The Delaney House’s Log Rolling with butler-style hors d’oeuvres, hearty sampling stations and beer and wine selections. In September the challenge will not be to find something to do, but to figure out how to squeeze in as many of the great events as possible you’ll find in Go Local-land.

S

hopping among the many quaint gift shops in tourist towns such as Newburyport and Portsmouth served as the inspiration for Sara Anderson to one day open her own business. Only that “one day” came sooner than expected. “After 15 years I was laid off from my job in human resources. I didn’t want to go back to the corporate world and I had some severance pay to work with, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to give it a try,” Anderson said about starting her own business. So was born her own unique gift shop on April 3 last year called The Humble Fox in Somers, Conn. When asked how she came up with the store’s name, Anderson said it is a common question asked by my many of her customers. “I wanted to incorporate my parents into the title somehow, and we call my dad the ‘Silver Fox.’ My mom is a two-time breast cancer survivor which made us think of the word ‘pink.’ But, I wanted to keep the title gender neutral, so after searching for a number of adjectives that might work before the word fox I came upon ‘humble,’ which I thought sounded good,” she said. Anderson, who lives in East Longmeadow, Mass., is a one-woman show. “It’s just me,” she said about being manager, salesperson, buyer, merchandiser, bill payer, cleaner and just about anything else you can think of when it comes to running a business. So, when it came time to search for a location for her shop, Anderson had some definite ideas – chief of which was affordability – and she went out “shopping” to find the perfect storefront. “Since I grew up in a small town, I knew that I wanted that small

town atmosphere for my store. I looked all around, including in East Longmeadow and Wilbraham, but eventually decided on a property in Somers that was the perfect size, whose rent I could afford, and that had recently been painted and needed little work before moving in,” Anderson said. “It’s a great location at a busy intersection in the center of Somers. We’re across the street from the Copper House Tavern, which a lot of people know as the old Somers Inn which once offered lodging,” she added. When it came to furnishing the store with displays to hold her merchandise, Anderson had a creative approach that was able to save her some money. “Most of my displays are repurposed items such as antique furniture from my parents’ basement…..it gives my store a vintage eclectic look. There’s an old hutch, for example, that my father built and that now holds all of our baby items. We also repurposed ladders with shelves to hold some items. And, using the top of an old dining room table, my dad built the counter where our register is located,” she said. As for stocking her store, the fun part for Anderson, she had some definite ideas in mind. “I wanted the majority of the items I would sell – which is about 75-80 percent of our stock now – to be handmade or come from small businesses, as opposed to more massproduced items. Early on I offered a line of nail polish in the store that people came to love. I still sell them, but now you can find them in Target,” Anderson said. “Many of the items I sell are made by local folks. We have handmade purses from Birch and Ivory in Hampden. Another woman from South Windsor, who calls her business Payne and Comfort, a play on her last 12 GO LOCAL SEPTEMBER 2019

name, makes hot and cold packs that go into the freezer or microwave. I also have a line of coffee cozys made by Gigi and Lala in Enfield, and some hand-crocheted hats and knit scarves for the fall and winter from Night Owl Knots in Longmeadow,” she added. A small sampling of other items at The Silver Fox includes jewelry, wallets, children’s books, gourmet jams, coffee and tea, beauty products for women such as various lotions and perfumes, soaps and shaving creams for men, candy gummies, and several lines of candles, including some made by Anderson. “Greeting cards are so expensive today, and we have an affordable assortment that are handmade in smaller batches. In fact, one line is made using an antique letterpress,” Anderson said. Jewelry is among her best-selling products, especially from one vendor

in Easthampton, Mass., called Scout Curated Wears. “Their earrings are very popular with our customers, and they make a necklace-bracelet combo that you can wear around your neck or wrap around your wrists,” Anderson said. Also in stock right now are various back-to-school items, including a lunch box with a separate compartment for each food item, water bottles, fun erasers, pencils and notebooks. And, Anderson noted she is preparing for the arrival of items for the Halloween and Christmas seasons. While the majority of the store’s clientele are women, she noted that it is not unusual for a man to step foot in her shop. “They definitely do come in to buy things. We see a lot of men around Mother’s Day who bring their kids with them to buy a gift for the holiday. Of course, men also come GOLOCALMAGAZINES.COM 13

in to buy their wives gifts for other occasions and we help them if they are looking for ideas,” Anderson said. While a self-proclaimed “onewoman show,” she doesn’t always go it alone. “My dog Easton is always with me at the store. He is the shop dog who greets customers at the door. Easton is so loved that when a regular customer comes in and doesn’t see him, they want to know where he is,” Anderson said. The gift shop owner also realized when the holiday buying season arrived in November, that she was going to need some extra help at times. “The Saturday after Thanksgiving is Small Business Saturday, and I was extremely busy from then right through Christmas. So, my mom and my cousin’s girlfriend quickly became my go-to persons when I needed some extra help,” Anderson said. With just over a year under her belt since opening The Silver Fox, Anderson said she has “learned a few things.” “I’ve learned that business is so unpredictable. Any one day to the next can be completely different and you have to be able to roll with it. But, what I’ve really taken away from the experience so far is the people I’ve met. That’s the best thing about owning a small business. I have a lot of regular customers. I know their kids, where they are going on vacation, or their dog’s name, and I love that connection,” Anderson said. The Humble Fox is located in a strip mall on 11 South Road. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed on Sunday and Monday.

SHOW

o i d u St hen you go to the circus and see a trapeze artist dangling from 50 feet in the air, or a tightrope walker teetering on a cord no thicker than your thumb, do you ever think to yourself “I’d like to try that”? Your first answer might be “NOPE”! Perhaps it’s the height, strength, or flexibility that might intimidate you. But the circus arts are actually much more approachable than you think. “Our trapeze is only five feet off the ground,” smiles Henry Wheaton, owner of SHOW Circus Studio in Easthampton. He and his former colleague Christopher Oakley formed the circus arts studio ten years ago to teach an array of circus arts to the public. Ground and aerial skills like trapeze, unicycle, lyra (a suspended

W

hoop), stilt walking, juggling, handstands/inversions, unicycle, Diablo (Chinese yo-yo), partner acrobatics, and tumbling are all practiced at the studio. Wheaton has always been athletic, but what exactly got him involved in circus arts? “I didn’t touch a trapeze until my late 30’s,” he explains. “I became interested in the circus when I saw Cirque du Soleil – La Nouba in Orlando. However, I couldn’t find a local gymnastics school that would teach a grown male.” Wheaton and Oakley met at NECCA (New England Center for Circus Arts) in Brattleboro, VT and graduated from the nine-month intensive training program in 2008. Wheaton (who majored in duo trapeze and

minored in partner acrobatics) and Oakley (who majored in trapeze and minored in contortion) both agreed that they wanted and needed a place to train after their time at NECCA. After months of planning, SHOW Circus Studio started in 2009 in a small room at the Easthampton Mills complex. Since then, the studio has absorbed much of its surrounding space and has become a 3,500 square foot facility with wood floors, 15-foot ceilings, and colorful murals. Their presence in the historic mill complex only adds to the culturally rich landscape of western Massachusetts. “Our intention was originally for a training space for circus arts,” explains Wheaton. “The school is something that grew from it.” GOLOCALMAGAZINES.COM 25

The open studio space feels fun, curious, and inviting, while the front desk and waiting area are bright with natural lighting and a TV screen where parents and families can watch what’s happening within the studio space. But why did they choose Western Massachusetts for the circus studio? Why Easthampton? “This area is very family-oriented,” says Wheaton. Perhaps the group that benefits the most from SHOW Circus Studio’s programs are the kids. In fact, the majority of the studio’s students are children. “When we were kids, it was instilled in us that sports or dance classes were our only options to keep active. We didn’t have the choice of participating in circus arts then. 26 GO LOCAL SEPTEMBER 2019

At SHOW, we want to demonstrate to kids that they can be physically active, have fun, be themselves and express who they are.” The circus arts aim to build confidence, especially in kids. SHOW’s culture enforces safety and most importantly teaches students to respect themselves, the equipment, and others. “There are so many different disciplines, ages, levels, capabilities, and body shapes, and circus arts are made for all of them,” adds Wheaton. So how is it that a trapeze artist may feel 100% at home 50 feet above the ground? “There are a lot of preconceived notions about circus arts,” explains Wheaton. “Part of the mystique of the circus is that it looks dangerous, but people who practice the circus arts have progressed through it safely and worked up to their current abilities. Behind the thrill of the circus is a recreational experience. It’s like any other hobby.” Although it may look intimidating, all of SHOW’s beginner classes start from the bare basics. If you’re curious, come try it. The best way to get in shape and build strength for the classes is to take them and

learn the ins and outs step-by-step! All participants sign safety waivers and the studio is fully insured. “Circus arts are difficult, but that is what makes them so appealing,” Wheaton says. “It’s a lot of training, yet it helps focus and drive people. It gives students a purpose and motivation to be their best selves.” SHOW Circus Studio participates in a wide variety of events, including Easthampton’s Cultural Chaos, Amherst BID’s Block Party, and even at the opening of Springfield’s Dr. Seuss Museum. Their performers are available for hire. They also have a youth troupe and are developing an adult troupe, which also put on performances. “When I look back on the past ten years, the thing that is most amazing is the community we’ve created and how we feed off each others’ enthusiasm,” concludes Wheaton. “That’s the piece that means the most to me.”

To make the Crust:

1/2 cup flour

Using a mixer, blend flour and salt. Add oil until slightly mixed. Add milk until blended. Don’t over mix. Place dough on large piece of parchment paper. Flatten into round disc. Cover with wax paper. Roll into 14 inch round.

1/2 cup light brown sugar 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, finely chopped

JANET PARÉ is a home cook who began baking with her Memere (grandmother) at the age of 6. Retired and living in Southampton with her dog, Ziggy and cat, Elie Mae, she now enjoys cooking for family and friends.

Using a fork, mix flour, brown sugar, nuts and butter until crumbly. How to make the Galette: Remove wax paper from pie dough, leaving dough on parchment paper. Mound the apple filling in the center of rolled out dough, leaving a 2 - 3 inch edge. Sprinkle streusel over the filling. Fold the dough around the filling. Brush dough with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400° for 40 - 50 minutes or until filling bubbles in the center. Cover with foil for last 15 minutes if top browns too fast. When completely cooled, dust with confectioners sugar. Serve with vanilla ice cream. ENJOY! Variation: Replace apples with peaches or any of your favorite fruit pie filling.

GO!

“W

e have so many wonderful animals at The Zoo in Forest Park, but not everyone can get here,” said Sarah Tsitso. So was born the Zoo On the Go program several decades ago to bring their animals to everyone. “It’s a unique hands-on educational experience that brings our zoo animals to schools, libraries, after-school programs, senior centers and senior living facilities, as well as other organizations with an interest in having us come out to showcase our zoo animals,” said Tsitso, the zoo’s executive director. Zoo On the Go presentations are offered year-round and are designed to provide information about the animals, including their special adaptations, habitats, behavior, diets and status in the wild. Sessions provide

an opportunity for participants to touch and observe the animals, as well as ask individual questions. The Zoo in Forest Park & Education Center, located on 293 Sumner Avenue in Springfield, is a non-profit organization governed by the Forest Park Zoological Society. It features exotic and indigenous animals representing a large variety of specifies found throughout the world and in North America. Animals showcased in the Zoo On the Go Program are referred to as animal ambassadors. “It’s a common name used in the zoo field and not one we came up with. These animals are ambassadors in the sense that they are helping to teach people lessons that they might not be able to learn beyond the textbook or in a classroom,” Tsitso said. GOLOCALMAGAZINES.COM 31

Which animal ambassadors are chosen to travel with the Zoo On the Go program on any given day depends on a number of factors, including the length of ride, weather, and if it is indoors or outdoors such as at a camp. “We have a list of some 25 animals we choose from. If the weather is warm and we are going to be outdoors, for example, we would bring more reptiles that are comfortable in the warmer weather as opposed to mammals with their fur coats,” Tsitso said. “Also, animals are like people. They sometimes don’t want to be bothered to leave their home, and it is for that reason that we don’t really select which animals will come with us until that day,” she added. While people often request a specific zoo animal, they sometimes ask educators to not bring a particular species. “We do get requests to leave the snakes behind, and we are respectful of these requests. We don’t want to force any animal on anyone,” Tsitso said. “The focus is on education, so when we do take a snake along we talk about how they have their own individual 32 GO LOCAL SEPTEMBER 2019

personalities, what their interactions with humans might be, that not all are venomous and hurt you, and their importance to the ecosystem. And, if we change a few minds about snakes along the way, then we’re done our job,” Tsitso said. Among some of the animal ambassadors in the Zoo On the Go program are cockatoos and macaws, bearded dragon, blue-tounge skink, Madagascar hissing cockroach, turtles and tortoises, hedgehog, rabbit, ferret, opossum, corn snake, silky chicken, and many others. “I love bringing Cherry, our threelegged opossum, out with me when I am doing a Zoo On the Go program. I start by telling everyone her story, how she was injured when she was much smaller, just a little bigger than your hand. Cherry came to us from a rehab center down South, where they had to amputate one of her back legs or she wouldn’t have otherwise survived. And because she could not go back into the wild afterwards and survive, Cherry was sent to our zoo to make her new home,” said Caroline Adams, programs zookeeper. “I also explain to groups that Cherry is special in that she is the only marsupial in North America to carry babies in their pouch. While opossums are unlikely to carry the rabies virus, it gives me the opportunity to explain to young kid what rabies is and how it is treated. And, I always say if you see an opossum in your backyard, it’s a good thing because they are big tick eaters, but don’t approach them because they are a wild animal,” she added. When it comes to the interactive portion of the program, it all depends on the animal. “We may have kids who want to put our smaller Madagascar cockroach on their arms. But other animals, especially mammals, can be a little bit rambunctious and are not appropriate for them to hold. For example, we would not put our hedgehog in someone’s hand because we don’t want it dropped GOLOCALMAGAZINES.COM 33

or injured. But the hedgehog can be touched to see how it feels spikey and often curls into a ball when held. It’s also wonderful to see the reaction of kids when they touch a snake, which they think will be slimy, but are really cool and dry,” Tsitso said. Other “touchable” items include the many artifacts that are brought along to presentations. “These artifacts often tie in with a special lesson we’ve created for the group. We might bring a tortoise shell, plaster of paris paw prints to show different sized footprints, or snakeskins. Our snakes often shed their skins and we have some very beautiful ones to show,” Tsitso said. There are also a lot of questions asked during a Zoo On the Go session. “Many want to know where these animals live….their native habitats….and what they eat. Each of our animals has its own unique story about being rescued or coming from a sanctuary because they were injured, and we love to share those stories. We are also asked where our animals live in the winter when our gates are closed. The answer is they remain living at the zoo where we have heated housing for them,” Tsitso said. “Everyone seems to be fascinated by poop and it’s crazy how many questions I get about how big a particular animal’s poop might be. I’ve also had questions asked about if we bring our leopard out as part of the Zoo On the Go program,” Adams said about the obvious answer. How far the program extends depends on travel time. “The safety and comfort of our animals is paramount and we don’t want them in a car for too long a time, with that said we have traveled as far as Greenfield, Pittsfield, Worcester and even Mystic, CT,” Tsitso said Zoo On the Go presentations range from 30 to 60 minutes and can include anywhere from 5 to 9 animals depending on the time and number of participants based on groups of up to 30 and others 30 or larger. Prices range from $150 to $300 in addition to a travel fee. To make a reservation or to learn more about the program, contact the Education Department at 413-733-2251, ext. 305, or email education@ forestparkzoo.com.

ow many people do you know who have ever complained about having too much storage space in their home? “With working families and limited space and time, most people will say they have a need for multi-functional spaces. Everyone needs organization in their life, it just makes their daily activities flow that much easier,” said Kim Grant-Bryda, owner of New England Custom Closets in Enfield. The family-owned and operated business, which began in late 2015, is the brainchild of Grant-Bryda, whose goal is to help make her customers’ lives clutter free by creating a custom closet, mudroom, pantry, murphy bed or garage. “It all started with relatives who had kids going off to college. They would call me to help them redo their child’s bedroom for a closet. We would paint, take up the carpet, and buy

metal racks for the walls. But, metal racks, even when supported by brackets anchored into studs, eventually bend under pressure and fall off the wall. I thought to myself, there has to be a better way,” Grant-Bryda said. And there was. “I met Lee Goldsticker from Miami, the owner of the Lazy Lee Shoe Spinner. He is the one who really explained the closet industry to me. His product was the very first closet design I began installing before we began creating one-of-a-kind designs for each of our customers,” GrantBryda said. “We go right into the home and measure the space we will have to work with. We listen to the customer’s needs and desires. Do they fold their pants or hang them? Do they have suit coats and ties and sportswear on shelves and have the need for a build-in laundry basket or places to keep their shoes? When we go back to the office, a design is created based on the needs of the customer. We share that first draft with them and continue to refine it until they are ready to sign a contract and place a deposit with us,” she added. The result is an elaborately40 GO LOCAL SEPTEMBER 2019

designed walk-in closet organized to meet the customer’s every need, or a more simplified standard closet. Options include shelves that are stationary or that pull out, drawers, single- and double-hanging rods, built-in safes for valuables, velvet lined inserts in drawers to hold jewelry, fold out ironing boards, areas for laundry baskets/bags, and much more, including glass shelving with lighting above to shine down through the several shelves. “Utilizing a three-quarter-inch high pressure laminate and a 2 mm edge the majority of the time, we design and install a floor-based system that offers more durability, strength, and an overall more complete look to any closet or room. We offer at this time six additional finish colors at no additional charge. And, we do not use wire racks or half-inch systems with a paper edge that you would normally find in stores, Grant-Bryda said. She noted that while other closet professionals create a hanging system off of a one-inch rail, their floodbased system is attached with a cleat system to a stud in the wall resulting in its greater strength and durability. Their three-quarter inch high pressure GOLOCALMAGAZINES.COM 41

laminate known as HPL is less expensive than real wood and their drawers are birch dovetail with soft closures. You can even get drawers with a wood panel face if you select their special “Newport” design shown on their website. And, you don’t necessarily need a closet for them to work with. “We can create a design that is installed so that it looks like it blends right into the wall of the room with crown molding edging and more,” Grant-Bryda said. Grant-Bryda offered her thoughts on why people have more clutter today. “We have women, especially in the 40 plus age range, who simply don’t want to get rid of their outdated clothing because they believe everything comes back into fashion at some point. So, they have a larger quantity of clothing to store. Then, you have those in the 20-30 age range who are of the mindset that they want efficient, clutter-free storage for their clothing and accessories behind doors, where they can hang their $300 designer jeans and store their Louis Vuitton handbags,” she said. Word-of-mouth from satisfied customers has helped to build their business, noted Grant-Bryda. “A majority of our customers each year come from The Big E. After 17 days there we usually walk away with some 60 plus jobs,” she said, adding they also exhibit at the Western Mass Home Show. “We also pride ourselves on being a military and law enforcement family, so we offer a 10 percent discount for military, law enforcement, and first responders,” she added.

Cookies For A Cure O

n March 22, 2017 my life as I knew it, changed overnight. I had been experiencing a horrible tooth infection, night sweats, and difficulty breathing when I would exercise. The Poor dentist at Zahner Dental here in town (Ellington, Ct) recommended a trip to the Hartford Hospital emergency room. Less than twentyfour hours later, I was undergoing chemotherapy for Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a form of blood CANCER! It all happened so fast that it didn’t hit me that I, a healthy, active, thirty-four-year-old, mother of two young children had a blood cancer.

44 GO LOCAL SEPTEMBER 2019

It wasn’t until I was about to go back into the hospital for the second round of chemotherapy since the first one wasn’t fully effective, that I realized how scared I really was! Not only did I have Leukemia, but I had a strain that was known to be resistant to chemotherapy. At this time my family and I decided to seek treatment at Dana Farber in Boston. Friends and family came out of the woodwork! The website that my husband and his sister set up to keep everyone informed quickly had over 200 members and was growing daily. Neighbors were making dinners

for my husband and kids and I was greeted daily with multiple cards and get-well gifts. My name was added to prayer lists all over the United States as well as here at St. Luke’s in Ellington, Ct. I ended up going through two rounds of chemotherapy and unfortunately still wasn’t in remission. This was by far the scariest time in my entire life. I had so much to live for, dying at the age of 35 with a husband and my two young kids just wasn’t an option. I though why God? Why me? Finally, some good news came when my sister was a perfect match for a bone marrow transplant which was the only option I had left! On June 16, 2017 I once again entered the hospital to start the conditioning chemotherapy for a Stem Cell Transplant. One of the worst parts of undergoing all the chemotherapy sessions was being away from my kids and home for over thirty days each time. I have also never been poked and prodded so much or undergone so many tests and taken so many pills. I felt like a human pin cushion! My mind and body will never be the same. The three rounds of chemotherapy and the transplant saved my life but left me with many emotional and physical scars. I now have Graft vs Host Disease in my eyes. I wear glasses and have times when my eyes burn and are extremely dry and blurry. I have Osteoporosis due to the Chemotherapy regimens and experienced a compression fracture in my back over the winter from coughing to hard from a cold. My body aches every morning. I tease my husband and parents saying that, “I may only be 36 but I feel like I am 66”. Many positive things did come out of this horrific experience. I have a new-found love of life, my friends and family (my parents, sister, in laws and sister in law are and have been amazing) and a stronger faith in God than ever. I take each and every day as a

gift and never let the “why me moments” “and this stinks attitude” last for more than a day or a few hours. I know now life can literally change overnight, and I also never realized how many people were affected by cancer. While confined at home with a compromised immune system, I started to craft and bake again and take online cookie decorating classes. I found it to be a great distraction from all the stress of being ill and a lot of fun. One night as I was laying in my bed I had a great idea. I could sell my decorated

homemade sugar cookie and a percentage of the sales could go towards supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This is how I started Kearcher Cookies for A Cure. I love being creative and staying active. Now two years later I continue to spread Leukemia Awareness and fundraise for All Cancers! You can Find Kearcher Cookies For A Cure on Facebook and once a month at The Ellington Farmers Market! Thank you for all the love and support!!!
