With its focus on practical skills and legal theory, Gonzaga Law’s curriculum will prepare you for the day-to-day realities of a legal career. Our approach emphasizes skills training and professionalism from the first semester of law school through the last, while also providing a solid grounding in legal theory and philosophy. Graduation requires 90 course credits.

Gonzaga Law’s Executive J.D. Program provides a full six-term, ABA-accredited legal education in two years instead of three, with a unique focus on business and leadership courses. Designed with online and in-residence coursework components, this educationally focused and interdisciplinary program has the rigor of our traditional program combined with a unique curricular emphasis on business and leadership that will prepare students to thrive in any number of careers. Working professionals and driven students alike complete the program and are eligible to take the bar exam in any U.S. jurisdiction.

3+3 Programs Our 3 + 3 programs allow qualified students to complete their undergraduate degree and obtain a J.D. degree faster. Gonzaga University School of Law has standing partnerships with one internal Gonzaga University program and two area institutions, Eastern Washington University and Whitworth University, to create a pathway for students to earn their undergraduate and law degrees in six years instead of seven. gonzaga.edu/school-of-law/admission/ 3-plus-3-programs

Dual Degree Programs In association with the Gonzaga University School of Business, students can pursue the following dual degree programs • Juris Doctor / Master of Accountancy (MAcc) • Juris Doctor / Master of Science in Taxation (MSTax) • Juris Doctor / Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. These programs prepare students for demanding business and legal careers.

In conjunction with the School of Social Work at Eastern Washington University, students may study towards a dual Juris Doctor-Master of Social Work (JD/MSW) degree. CIVIL & HUMAN RIGHTS at Gonzaga Law

Pursue Justice, Ignite Progress. The Center for Civil & Human Rights at Gonzaga Law seeks to provide students, scholars, and community leaders with opportunities to explore and address issues relating to civil and human rights through research, education, and community engagement. Through this Center, students can: • Obtain a Certificate in Civil and Human Rights • Apply for Summer Fellowships in social justice • Participate in the Civil Rights Moot Court Competition and in the Moderate Means Program •

Established in 2006 and substantially expanded in 2019, the Center for Law, Ethics & Commerce has been one of the nation’s leaders in providing both law students and lawyers with the skills they need to be effective transactional lawyers. The Center is now poised to also offer students interdisciplinary programming on business, technology, and innovation, all with an eye towards the public good. The Center offers a collection of opportunities unlikely to be available anywhere else, including: •

Hosting events that bring national experts to speak on law, ethics, and business topics.

Participating in a nationwide project to shape the law by authoring amicus curiae briefs on commercial law issues and publishing articles in The Transactional Lawyer newsletter.

Promoting curricular offerings on experimental, creative, and cutting-edge topics in business, leadership, and new technology.

Study Abroad

The Center for Civil & Human Rights and the Center for Law, Ethics & Commerce provide paid fellowships to select students to cover living and travel expenses in support of summer work. The opportunities are available to students spending their summers doing distance internships or externships in legal areas important to the Centers and their missions.

The Florence law program offers a unique and exciting summer adventure in the heart of Florence, Italy. Held at Gonzaga’s Florence campus, students gain an international perspective of the law, learn from global experts, and immerse themselves in a rich cultural experience.
