Faith & Scholar Baller

TEAM VOLANTH - MERCERSBUG 2019 CHAMPS

Each August, seniors are selected to draft a Scholar Baller team prior to leaving for Mercersburg, PA. The teams compete not only in the fun team building activities at camp, but every week throughout the season as well. The teams forge a bond that will last beyond football, as they eat, compete, and study together during the year.

Gonzaga - 35 Good Counsel - 42 (5 OT) October 6

The Eagles fell to Good Counsel in a tough game on the road. Despite outgaining the Falcons by more than 150 yards, Gonzaga could not earn their first WCAC victory of 2019. The score was tied 7-7 at the end of regulation, but as The Washington Post put it, the “low-scoring slog morphed into five-OT shootout.”

The lone score for Gonzaga in regulation came on a 10 yard touchdown catch by junior WR Hayden Fisher. In overtime, junior QB Caleb Williams carried the load, scoring all four overtime touchdowns on keepers.
