Me.

I was born in Vigo, Galicia, a thriving town with both hystorical and new movements. Due to my career I moved to Barcelona, where I began my studies in Engineering of Industrial Design and Developing of the Product. Since last year I became aware of how I could imply my engineering knowledge for both design and expression needs.

< = > What design is to me. I could say I’m into the “Less is more vision, I define design as the use of technology to create a better world, this also means that this technology is the best and best used to make the most efficient use of resources, could it be in materials for construction or energy in the use. A product is composed by technical use, comunication and aesthetics.

What art is to me.

Art is expression. For me the best way to express is to do it in the best way I know, working with the techniques I learnt during my formation. I mostly work with 3D modelling, rendering and illustration.

What I want to do.

I’m worried about how the fast developing of the world will affect people, specially to the habits and culpture. The images, money and industry that surround us affect us more than we think and that creates conflict. Design is very powerfull and can separate or make people together. I would like to find new ways and technologies that respect what we are.

Influences

Bauhaus School is the sinonimous of what I want in my development, the search for the social benefict empowering the individuality and creativity of the individuals.

Product.

Sink design. Concept. The forms create an unbalanced look, the weight is finally supported by the faucet which has organical-inspired-by-water forms.

Electronic lighter. Concept. Through interviews I saw that the reason for customers to buy low quality, disposable lighters was how easy was to loose them. I designed a lighter for the long lasting and more “ecofriendly reality, solving the problem by using bluetooth technology and connection through smartphones.

Graphic.

BERLINA STUDIO

Berlina Studio. Branding and graphic design. Berlina Studio is a brand created for our online creative project, it’s fresh, warm, and humour charged, humble, it’s us.

Personal.

Smorga. Branding and graphic design. Galician beer with Galician tradition. its a reinterpretation of our ancient tales, art and colours.

Compact furniture design. Concept. A life that is becoming nomad involves new kinds of furniture, specially in small rooms, that’s why the design makes a special focus on the separation of spaces, lights and comfort.

A 3D printable machine implies modifying every part simplificating forms. The tradtional model was changed reducing up to the half of pieces and the functional deficiencies it had.

3D printable pasta machine. A way to protest against factories and encourage love for the natural and self-made food.

I’m interested about the relationships between brain’s automatisms and its inner hability to create forms and its aesthetic feelings. I wanted to represent how the forms have been changing in design due to the technology advances and new possibilities, from the geometric and simple forms to the organical.

Sculpture.

Semiautomatic ascenes and figures that come from the unconscious.

Dreams.
