Bulldogs win District title
Turnout steady in early voting By Ken Odor jodor@goochlandgazette.com
Voting was strong and steady in the early going Tuesday at the District 4 polling place at St. Matthew’s Methodist Church. Chief Officer of Elections at District 4 Cora Brown said 13 percent of registered voters had cast ballots by 9:15 a.m. “We’ve had a steady stream all morning,” said Brown. Goochland County Electoral Board Chairman
Herb Griffith, said he wouldn’t be surprised if turnout reached 70 percent when it was all over. “It started early and it’s been even all day,” said Griffith. In the church parking lot, candidates for supervisor Rudy Butler and Bob Minnick greeted voters as they arrived, as did School Board hopefuls Beth Hardy and Phil Davis. The Gazette will post election results online as soon as they are available at www. goochlandgazette.com.
