Goochland County has another award to add to its trophy case. Derek Stamey, Deputy County Administrator for Operations, recently reported to Goochland supervisors that the county had been honored by the Virginia Recreation and Park Society for the renovation of Central High School on Dog Town Rd. Used as the county’s black high school during the days of school segregation, the facility had fallen into disrepair in recent years and sat largely unused. Now, however, after an extensive renovation project, the site is enjoying a new life as the Central High School Cultural and see Award > 2
