A planned gold-mining operation received its stamp of approval from the county Planning Commission on Jan. 9, moving the project one step closer to securing a required Conditional Use Permit (CUP) from the county. The CUP, if approved, would allow Buckingham resident Paul Busch to set up a mining and reclamation operation at 4385 Shannon Hill Road. A similar CUP was approved in 2014, but expired last July 2019 before any mining took place.
