GoochlandCares offers thanks to local veterans who volunteer Contributed report
GoochlandCares would like to thank all veterans for their service to our country, as well as to those who volunteer with us and throughout the nation. Their allegiance to serving our country and community is key
for GoochlandCares’ commitment to neighbors helping neighbors. Clinton Nicholas has added to his rich service history by volunteering at GoochlandCares for the last eight years. He was born here,
and he will often say, “When I die, I hope it’s in Goochland.” Nicholas says of community service, “I always tried to help people the best I could. I enjoy being around people and have made a lot of friends here — volunteers and cli-
ents. Volunteering keeps you young.” Jen Jensen, Army veteran and Goochland resident of three years, has found meaningful ways to serve. Donating clothes and hosting a fundraiser were ways that she said
she could help local people and feel connected to her new home. “When you donate to GoochlandCares, you know exactly where it’s going.” Diane Reale, Director of Volunteer Resources, added, “We are grateful to have sev-
eral veterans serve in the GoochlandCares Volunteer Team. Their dedication to serving their community, drive, and leadership are an example to us all and help us to provide gold star service to our clients.”
