As county residents prepare to enjoy the annual Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza hosted by Goochland County this Monday, Parks and Recreation staff are reminding residents to be mindful of another, less-celebrated tradition closely tied to the event: the annual snarling of traffic that often accompanies the festivities. County officials this week put out a reminder to residents to be prepared for extensive traffic delays before and after the fireworks, which begins at 9 p.m. Local road closures will be initiated based on traffic conditions and event parking capacity, so those with plans to travel throughout the Courthouse Village area are urge to check the Goochland County Parks & Recreation’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ GoochlandParksandRec/) for upto-the-minute parking and weather announcements. In case of inclement weather, the rain date for the event is Tuesday, July 5. For those attending the fireworks show, parking will be available at the County Administration complex (1800 Sandy Hook Road), the Fairground property, Goochland
