Mario Loprete Oil On Concrete Interview Questions

Q: What is the source of your inspiration? At some point in my career, I felt the need to utilize a theme that everyone could comprehend. In Hip-Hop, I found the solution. It’s a philosophy of life without geographical borders. Rap music always kept me company in my study. It was the soundtrack of my work. Music is the art, and it’s a part of my work. I prepared a beautiful series for an imminent art show composed of musical CDs, covered in concrete, on which I painted some B-Boys who dance. They are contained in their casing of plexiglass. Nowadays, the musical lector could never play the Music on the CDs, but the music on the inside is there, and it will always be there. Looking at an egg you already know that there’s yolk in there, without the need to open it.

Creating a painting, starting from the spasmodic research of a concept with which I want to send a message to transmit my message, it’s the base of my artwork. The sculpture is my lover, my artistic betrayal to the painting. That voluptuous and sensual lover gives me different emotions that touch prohibited cords. Alternating picture and sculpture, always searching to transmit my message, makes me a complete artist.

Q: If you can have the power to share anything with the world, what would that be? every artist has a power that he shares with others throughout his r life. Each artist’s photographs assimilate and interpret the world around him. covid 19. Under a layer of cement, there are my clothes with which I lived this nefarious period. Clothes that survived covid 19, very similar to what survived after the 2,000-year-old catastrophic eruption of Pompeii, capable of recounting man’s inability to face the tragedy of broken lives and destroyed economies. Q: How is your support team on a scale of 1-10? I am my whole team. Q: Have you ever thought about giving up? I have participated in many exhibitions, in many competitions, but I am convinced that the winning of a prize of ten prizes does not change your life if you do not have the workforce behind, that force that will sustain you when the descending parable will inevitably start. Indeed, I will not write pages of art history in my life. I will not participate in the Venice Biennale. I will not exhibit my works at MOMA in New York, but I am sure I will have given you my best paintings, narcissistically speaking. Q: Do you have a 5-year plan? If yes, what is it? Yes, I’m working very hard to prepare the artworks for four important exhibitions: 2 in the USA, 1 in Germany and 1 in the Netherlands. Q: You win a million-dollar. What will you do? A: travel, travel, travel, travel, and finally, travel Q: What would you say to your 10-year-old self about life as you know it? You did well to do what you did. had over the past ten years. Q: Ok, so you’re in the zone either creating or planning your next venture. Describe the process. For my concrete sculptures, I use my clothing. Through my artistic process in which I use plaster, resin, and cement, I transform these clothing into artworks to hang. The intended effect is that my DNA and my memory remain inside the concrete. The person who looks at these sculptures is transformed into a postmodern archeologist, studying my work as urban artifacts. Q: Can you improve that process and how? The evolution of my work over the years results from the new experiences that I have transmitted to my artistic process. Therefore new experiences will undoubtedly bring some steps that I hope will enrich the strength in communication that I have always sought Q: What is a quote you live by, and who said it? “If today I am worth nothing, I will not be worth anything even tomorrow, but if tomorrow they discover values in me, it means that I still possess them today. Because wheat is wheat, even though people first take it for grass”. -VINCENT VAN GOGH

Cozy Light M

y name is Polina Yepishina. People, nature, the technology around me are my source of inspiration. Seven years ago, I got a camera that I still use today until his death. My grandfather supported this hobby and gave me an impetus to do it. In honor of him, I returned to the ranks again! To this day, I shoot portraits, fashion, model tests. I am an artist, and I am always learning something new. Photography helps me to think differently, do differently and think a lot. My work, in one word, is real. My mission is to present photography as memory and remind people that photography is an art.

If I could help people all over the world: I would take hundreds of excursions with people who are depressed, who want to communicate, who do not feel right. It is unrealistic, but it is my great desire to share. For the past couple of years, she only wore perfume oils because it lasted longer and saved her money! She turned her love of scents into a business!

Natural Bodé Butters and Bodé Oils were later added to the line. Beyond Her Eyes M

y name is Gina Sims, and I am a Makeup Artist. I grew up in the Boogie Down Bronx. If you all don’t know where that is, it’s the homeland of Hip-hop. In my early stages of growing up, I was fascinated with magazines. I would sit on my mom’s couch and look through all the magazines that I could get my hands on. My Favorite memory was looking at all the images. Thinking to myself, I want to be in a magazine. I want to look like the people dressed up and had makeup on, looking flawless in every picture. They look like they had everything together. I wanted to be perfect. I notice that there weren’t people in the magazines that looked like me. Being an African American (Cherokee Indian) was hard. There was a separation between the color of people’s skin, and it was affecting the world. I didn’t want to believe it, especially when it came to opportunities and growing up. My family always told me to be myself, do what I want, be what I want, and don’t let anyone hold me back. Once that was said to me, I was inspired to do just that. I started to do some modeling here and

22

there, but that was not getting anywhere. It was a struggle finding legit places to model without being scammed. I then went to black and white Photography at The Point in the Bronx, and I loved it. The creativity was pouring in, but I still wasn’t satisfied for some reason. I then went to times square and saw the most beautiful picture on a billboard. Something came over me. I wanted to look beautiful and be on a billboard. I had an urge to either be the model or makeup one up. I said to myself, I need to know how to look like that. So I got myself some makeup brush, eyeliner, mascara, and a makeup palette. The first makeup palette I had was BH Cosmetics. I started doing these little designs on the side of my face; my family and friends loved it. Then I venture off to do a little more, and I got into foundation and blending techniques. Thank God for technology. I went from getting my phone to post pictures on MySpace, Facebook, and now watching YouTube videos and teaching myself how to advance in my craft. The world couldn’t have been better.

Interview Questions

Q: How did you start your creative/ venture journey? In college, my friends and I curated parties for college students in the Greater Boston area. I volunteer to be the photographer for the events, and everyone loved the pictures I was taking, so I figured I would keep taking photos moving forward. You can probably see some of my early work on Facebook if you search for “Cash Flow Entertainment,” lol. I put the camera down after school, but three years ago, I took my camera on a trip to New York and captured the whole vibe. The photos came out great, and I realized I enjoyed taking portrait photos. Ever since then, I would take on different clients and learn how to create the sharpest, most colorful photos.

Q: This past year was unlike any other. How did it affect you? Good or bad? At the beginning of the year before the pandemic, I lost my full-time job. It was one of my favorite jobs! I was upset that I was let go and didn’t know what was to come for the year. When Covid-19 hit, I realized I had an opportunity to grow my business. It forced me to get into a position to create and make a profit and get into the entrepreneur lifestyle. This year was an excellent year for me.

Q: Using a few words, how would you describe your art/hustle? I focused on providing photos/content for everyone that wants it. I usually don’t say no to a project because I want to help people bring their vision to life through photography. I bring out colors in all my images. I want my subjects to pop out the photo and leave a lasting impression on their minds and others.

Q: What would you say to your 10-yearold self about life as you know it? Pick up a camera, my guy. It’s mad fun. Capture all the moments.

Q: If you can have the power to share anything with the world, what would that be? The power of love. Love is such a great tool in life and could solve all the world’s problems.

26

Q: You win a million-dollar. What will you do? I would explore the earth and take pictures of everywhere I go to showcase the images to my network that are unable to experience God’s creation.

Q: What do you think Good Jinx means? Good juice, good vibes, good life, you’re blessed. Q: What is a quote you live by, and who said it? “Creativity is your superpower!” - Marvin

Cursed beauty Quote By : Shanice Janelle

I

find inspiration in knowing that the industry is changing and that girls of all shapes, sizes, and ages can create art and be seen without being required to be a size zero anymore.

It’s also inspiring when other women can find some inspiration for themselves in me because I’m so comfortable in my skin, stretch marks, and all. They see that it’s possible to feel beautiful and create without worrying about imperfections because we all have them.

ur thoughts are made up of “thinking stuff.” It also has a job for us. It is our job to create and release our art into the world. Scatter pieces of ourselves. You never know who you will pick up. You never know who you will inspire or which emotions you will provoke. By smothering out over “thinking stuff” our unique ideas, we are smothering ourselves out, and there is nothing sadder than an idea that has never had a breath of life. A Look within By: Shalmadeen Edwards

I’ve live to learn to love to hate. To recreate the dreams that were not made into reality. I’ve felt the pain that most of us feel. Not just by our mates, but our loved ones too. Oh, betrayal, resentment, that’s only two. It’s unbelievable the things they do. Wake up this is your wake-up call. Please keep your eyes wide open so you don’t fall and give into it all. The misconception of your perception for perfection will ruin it all. And if we fail to learn from our mistakes, it’s cause we’re too blind to see the world isn’t as it uses to be.

Interview Questions

Q: What is the source of your inspiration? The source of my inspiration, I would have to say, is the power of knowing myself/self-reflection, The type of music I know I can make not only for myself but for the people; People need music. Although inspiration is perceived and comes from all different angles of life, I try to utilize it in the best way possible. Q: How did you start your creative/ venture journey? One day, I was sitting in class, back in the day at Midwood HS. Around 2009 -2010, I was bumping Kid Cudi in my “Skull Candies” listening to “Man On The Moon” and thought, “Hey, what if I could inspire others (such as myself) like Cudi does, Not to be like him but to be comfortable with being myself and still bring positive vibes in the world. (Is what he taught me) The guys and I would always rap in the back of the classroom back in JHS. We even made a smooth collective of friends and called ourselves “KID MUSIK.” Rapping wasn’t my thing at the time, but it was always fun. I remembered that I was still a talented individual. Even my Mom used to tell other family members and me whenever I play the church’s interments or just minding my own business. Later, in 2010, I wanted to hear how I sounded on a song. One auto-tuned and the other Natural Flat. Engineered by “Romain Shaw” Then post them to Facebook. It wasn’t my best,

but it was okay for a start. I didn’t think I would get any replies, but somehow the people gravitated to it with love, and since then, I have wanted to make more and more music. Alongside “SAU,” Which stands for “SpaceAge Universe,” A dope collective of talent, we formed a group later on, “Keyiente” & “Eddie Retro.” They inspired me even more to become a brand, a movement, The next “Bone Thugs N Harmony “so to say. We would always get to work collaboratively on our crafts. It was always dope when we got together. Q: a few words, how would you describe your art/hustle? Motivational, Uplifting, Influential, It hits the points with no pressure. My hustle would just be working all day in the studio to the late nights till the morning nonstop, Writing, Sightseeing, Meeting & connecting with people at every open mic, showcase, concert, whatever it is to get my music heard. Whether it be someone listening to music in their headphones that’s not mine, I tell them about what they should listen to, Spreading the word. Q: If you can have the power to share anything with the world, what would that be? LOVE Q: This past year was unlike any other. How did it affect you? Good or bad? Good & Bad Suitable because it gave me time to get more in

touch with myself. Due to the COVID 19, I didn’t want to sit around all day, though. So I did what I do best, Improvise, and I had to rise above the occasion to wonder how to approach the game from a better angle. I’ve made way more music, Perfected some material, Spent time with family, Exercised, Attended protest walks, etc. -Bad because I couldn’t let particular things or people try to clog my energy with negativity or being misunderstood, thus finding the willpower within to either face it or walk away. Having to differentiate my self-worth from the toxicity tries to stop my flow, But I kept pushing forward. Q: How is your support team on a scale of 1-10? It varies; it’s 3, sometimes it’s 10. I get support from my Family, Friends, Fans. the triple F I stopped looking for it, and if it happens naturally, I will go with that. Q: Have you ever thought about giving up? Never. I would have writer’s block and things of that nature, but I never cease to quit. Support disappointment, I felt alone most of the time, Never got the recognition that I thought I deserved, but hey, I’ve been through my phases. I became stronger. Q: Do you have a five-year plan? If yes, what is it? To be one of the greatest and keep making music. Build a brand, Invest, Market, become my own boss.

Q: You win a million dollars. What will you do? -Buy some kicks because my shoe game needs a little work right now But all jokes aside, I would invest in a business. Lend some to my Mom and fam I love. Give back to the people that need it. Q: What would you say to your ten-yearold self about life as you know it? I’d probably alter my perception and feel like I was being forced, but at the same time, I would say live your life the right way and don’t put yourself in a predicament of regret even if you feel it’s right at the moment. Q: Okay, so you’re in the zone either creating or planning your next venture. Describe the process. I’d close my eyes and contemplate how I would approach this venture without even taking the first step. How can I be prepared for this first step before taking the second? Q: Can you improve that process and how? I’d take a breather and either come back to it in a better mind state or attack it the best way I can. Then proofread or rekindle. Q: What do you think Good Jinx means? When I first heard of it to me, it felt as if, You stumbled upon figuring out something that didn’t happen but for a good reason. Now let’s make it happen. Q: What is a quote you live by, and who said it? A quote that I live by is “Believe in believing” or “If you ain’t growing, then you dying.”

y name is Brittania Edwards. I enjoy learning new skills, words, and information. I also enjoy cooking, listening to music, and watching medical series. I was born in the rural part of Jamaican by God’s grace and the never-ending help of my family, and I still managed to graduate high school with a diploma and 9 CSEC subjects, and 10 CAPE units, which academically is a big deal. I served in various positions while at school. Life has taught me to smile in the rain because after the rain comes a rainbow. I stay motivated by the encouraging words said to me by my family, but my will to be successful keeps me going. Studying in China is hard as it is. Effective communication is inhibited with the language barrier, and there are some absurd hours for online classes. However, I still managed to pull through and carry on with my day-to-day life while surviving a pandemic. To some, I’m an optimistic, funny, smart, and enthusiastic person, while others see me as miserable, cheeky, and emotional, but who am I? I am a 19-year-old Jamaican medical student studying in China and living by the

philosophy I believe that everyone was born with a particular niche and a job to fulfill. Some will figure out their calling at a later time, but as for me, I know that I want to be a neurosurgeon. I know that my purpose in life comes from helping others . The cliché thing to say is that “the main reason I want to become a doctor is to help people,” but that is not my main reason. My reason for pursuing a career in medicine and surgery surrounds more than just a desire to help sick people. By nature of being human that we will be unhappy, my reason comes where I can contribute to the more extensive development of humanity. If doctors can help a vast majority by vaccines rather than helping only sick people, it is fair to say doctors have completed their niche as part of the human race.

Edwin Philips Interview Questions Q: What is the source of your inspiration? Our eyes are our picture. Every day is an inspiration when I walk outdoors or inside the house. Each day has its appearance and cannot be duplicated. Q: How did you start your creative journey? Originally started as a hobby about seven years ago, then became an interest over the course. Around 2018 is when I started taking Photography more serious Q: Using a few words, how would you describe your art/hustle? Determine, Passionate, Patient, Ambitious Q: This past year was unlike any other. How did it affect you, good or bad? It’s poorly started because around March, I became unemployed and temporarily lost my next move. Good thing I bought my camera a month prior. Something in my conscience told me to buy it. I had nothing to lose, so I made Photography my primary. I was practicing and saving to invest in new equipment and learning each equipment element. Within six months, I saw an improvement in my Shooting and Editing. The whole cycle was a complete rejuvenation. Q: How is your support team on a scale of 1-10? I’ll say my support cast is an 8.

Q: Have you ever thought about giving up? There were times, but sometimes you have to converse yourself to make things better. Q: What would you say to your 10-yearold self about life as you know it? A lot of doors are going to be closed at you. So your best bet is to create your door that you have control of and feel like entering. Q: Ok, so you’re in the zone either creating or planning your next venture. Describe the process. Before I start my process, I always love to play some music to focus. Music is a great meditation. Q: Can you improve that process and how. My process comes around with tutorial videos and being productive after the videos are done. I am learning from other photographers that have been doing Photography longer than I. Q: What do you think Good Jinx means? I think Good Jinx means to spread art that comes from your vision to the public eye. A cycle of continuation Q: What is a quote that you live by, and who said it? The quote I live by is “Life Goes on, And So Do We” (never go back)

“What do you see? I don’t know yet.” About Daniel In 2018, Daniel Bornhäußer won over the entire jury in the TV program “Das Supertalent” (RTL), with just one card trick and an unconventional appearance, regardless of Dieter Bohlen’s disdain for card tricks. Daniel Bornhäußer is known for his Live-Shows, and he is high in demand, which continuously gives him the chance to travel. In this pandemic time without live performances, he continued to convince his popular magic shows with virtual formats. He artistically implemented the inspirations from his shows in his Karlsruhe studio.

olorful, abstract, and energetic art, mixed with cool nonchalance. My vernissages are extraordinary because every work of art is presented magically and placed in the spotlight. Each of my pieces tells a remarkable story. At my vernissages, I first and foremost want to showcase the work of art and myself as an artist, paired with a show. The art staging should be the focus of attention. My artworks are acrylic paintings with a self-created wash and flow technique. I also use a relatively rare printing technique called the monotype. It is a unique printing technique in which a single copy can ever be printed. Monotypes are therefore rarely found. Usually, self-made stencils are used to draw or paint on glass, acrylic, or metal plates with the monotype. Instead of stencils, I use old packaging material such as plastic, cardboard, old pizza boxes, or whatever else I can get my hands on and use them to paint the canvas. This is how the typical works of art by dbornhaeusser® are created. The pictures, without exception, are abstract, express emotions, spontaneity, rhythm, and chance. My feelings are mainly shown through the choice of colors in the image design. The rhythm is not disturbed by any interruption and thus reinforces the spontaneous expression. The resulting coincidences are deliberately included in the compositions and flow into the creative painting process. The forms, colors, and the structure of the picture are already in mind before the painting process, whereby the picture composition is not subject to

spontaneity and creativity. Photos were taken in the middle of the pandemic: Jan E. Siebert met the Karlsruhe star magician Daniel Bornhäußer (known as “Supertalent 2018”) in 2020 in the middle of the corona pandemic. In a difficult time for artists and cultural workers, they support each other with great dedication to the arts. Together they bundle their bubbling energy and vigorously roll up their sleeves: Together, they have created abstract and energetic art in the right mix of urban naturalness and modernity. A joint new magic show with incredible illusions by Bornhäußer is now planned. As passionate artists, they both know what is essential and perfectly stage art and light. With these two talented personalities and their great passion for art, the project result is guaranteed to be a real highlight.
