Wye Life magazine is written, designed and printed locally for the people of the Vale of Usk and Wye Valley. Our philosophy We are committed to quality. WELCOME
In this issue we welcome back our intrepid Client Liaison Manager, Chris Howell, after his recent hip op. No Chris hasn’t been rapping for the last six months but has, thankfully, almost fully recovered from his hip replacement. He certainly has a spring in his step. For this, our autumn issue, we are expanding our distribution to cover The Teme Valley, including towns from South Worcestershire, such as Malvern, Droitwich, Evesham, Bewdley and, of course, the city of Worcester. As you know, we already distribute along the Wye Valley, Herefordshire and South Worcestershire. You’ll find some fantastic independent businesses inside and some cracking places to visit. We also have a fab feature on Holden Morgan for you on pages 8 & 9 so the motor heads among you will, I’m sure, enjoy reading about this excellent company. Now Chris is back on form, we’ll be expanding the magazine further over the coming issues. So if you’re a small business looking for more customers, please contact Chris on 07837 940639. He’s an expert at promotion and he seems to know everyone. To you, our wonderful readers, we’d love to hear your views, your recommendations (do you have a favourite pub, restaurant or boutique?) and suggestions.
Yes it’s free. Priceless actually! Wye Life is distributed free through a wide variety of outlets across Vale of Usk, Wye Valley and beyond and is given away free of charge on the understanding that we are happy for it to be lent, passed on, given to friends and generally read until it falls apart. At which point, you can recycle it and we’d be delighted if you did.
Enjoy the autumn we’ll see you again in December. Jennifer Hobbs-Roberts Editor 07766 106 701 jennifer@goodlifepublishing.co.uk uk.linkedin.com/in/jenniferhobbsroberts

Despite being found along Bromyard’s High Street, The Kings Arms exudes the comforting atmosphere of a countryside pub; one that offers a warm welcome, traditional food, and a range of drinks to make locals out of all who enter.
THE K INGS A RMS
The homely atmosphere of The Kings Arms is thanks to, in part, its wonderful history and current status as a Grade II listed building.
The bar to the rear features a pool table, televised Sky Sports, and is the go-to place whenever there is a premier league match on.
With roots dating as far back as the 16th century, the pub is the very definition of a traditional pub. The rest is thanks to new owner Angela who, with the help of sister Rachel and her good friend Linda, took over the pub in November of 2016 and hasn’t looked back since.
If you are in the mood for some traditional favourites then make sure to visit between 12pm and 2pm Monday to Saturday where a full menu of pub classics is available - with OAP meals from as little as £5 on Wednesdays - or arrive between 12pm and 3pm on Sundays to take part in their fantastic Sunday roast. For the rest of the week The Kings Arms offers a range of drinks for every taste and preference; including Stowford press, Stella Artois, Butty Bachs, Tetleys, Carling, Guiness, and more.
This Tudor style building is home to two bars; the first can be found at the front with traditional features, cosy log fires, and is the perfect place to relax with friends and family.
3
So what does the future hold for The Kings Arms? Well, Angela has recently been awarded a five year tenancy that is allowing her to do a wonderful range of improvements. With weekly prize draws, £6 Curry and Pint Evenings starting in September, take away options, and quiz nights all on the horizon.

Holden Morgan Ltd opened its doors for the first time in March 2017. This fresh new dealership offers car enthusiasts from across the globe an opportunity to possess a new or used Morgan car, with the emphasis on a personal approach to customers, by a dedicated, passionate and knowledgeable team.
HOLDEN MORGAN For decades, Holden Vintage & Classic owner Jeremy Holden has been a Morgan enthusiast. Jeremy’s interest in Morgan cars goes back to 1968 when, as a boy, he became besotted by a yellow Plus 8 on the cover of Autosport Magazine. Since then he has proudly owned, restored and even raced and rallied Morgans.
Holden Vintage and Classic is situated in Bromyard, a Herefordshire town steeped in motoring history, just ten miles from the iconic Morgan Factory in Malvern. It was only fitting, therefore in 2017, that HVC should branch out to establish Holden Morgan Ltd. The ethos of Holden Morgan is clear. This is a family-run dealership that welcomes all its customers into what feels like one big Morgan car owners’ family.
Holden Morgan work closely with their customers to find the most suitable new or used Morgan for them by sharing their appetite for Morgans with devotees from around the world, sourcing new and used cars, with a sense of unparalleled pride and passion.
Regularly spotted in the gleaming showroom are much-sought-after threewheelers, limited edition models, and iconic Plus 4s and Plus 8s perfected with scrupulous detail to ensure absolute authenticity. As ever the focus is on quality and consistent performance. And if that’s not enough the dedicated and hardworking team also service and restore Morgans, offering specialist parts, advice and expertise to ensure that owners can take maximum pride in their vehicles.
“As ever the focus is on quality and consistent performance.” 8
Special projects do of course pass through the busy on-site service bay, with the most recent restoration being a passionate personal project of Jeremy’s - a ground-up renovation of a run-down 1955 Plus 4, close to being scrapped twelve months ago. After a comprehensive rebuild, including a fully restored chassis, this prestigious vehicle Sol, is now en route to Africa, revving up for a 6,700km rally through Africa in October.
Projects like these are not uncommon at the Holden Morgan premises. The team can also be regularly spotted at iconic classic motoring events sharing their latest insights, stories and restoration tips. So, should you be toying with the idea of getting up close and personal with a Morgan for the first time or widening your interest with another vehicle, then Holden Morgan is on hand with all the advice and expertise you need.

The Conquest Theatre The Conquest Theatre in Bromyard is a purpose built 150 seat theatre run entirely by volunteers. As the town’s primary centre for its thriving artistic community it offers everything from theatre and cinema to live music, streaming from venues around the globe, and an art gallery around its foyer walls. It offers opportunities for participation in all aspects of live performance; from acting in plays, pantomimes, and musicals, to set design and construction, costume, lighting, and stage management. The vibrant Youth Theatre caters for young people aged from 5 to 18 in four age groups; while the adult Drama Group offers a series of theatre-based activities throughout the year, in addition to a variety of productions which are well supported by patrons from the surrounding area and beyond. The Conquest Theatre, which is run as a registered charity, relies almost exclusively on its box office income, as it receives no funding other than occasional small grants for specific projects from generous benefactors and charities, such as the Rowland Trust and Bromyard and Winslow Town Council. The volunteers run all aspects of the Theatre, including the box office, coffee bar and bar, as well as the huge costume department which not only costumes the Conquest’s own productions, but also hires costumes to other theatre groups and individuals from all around the Three Counties.
There is also a group of volunteers who meet on Wednesday and Saturday mornings to use their talents help to maintain the fabric of the building and build sets and props. To be a part of this thriving organisation why not pop into the regular Saturday open coffee morning from 10.30 to 12.30, or contact the Conquest via the web site where you will also find details of future productions. 13

The Calm of the Llama in the countryside! These furry friends at Briery Hill are finalists in the prestigious UK Rural Business Awards 2018.
BRIERY HILL LLAMAS
Briery Hill Llamas is a superb, family-run farming firm that has just been named as a finalist in the prestigious and UK-wide Rural Business Awards. Securing a position in the top five firms running for the title of ‘Best Rural Recreational or Outdoor Pursuits Business’ in the South West Region, Briery Hill Llamas is thrilled to be a finalist.
We were proud to shortlist Briery Hill Llamas as this business offered a great opportunity for people to do something a bit different while enjoying the Great British outdoors; trekking in the company of llamas with the beautiful setting of the Malvern Hills in the distance. We felt this was an unusual business which was boosting the local economy by bringing people into the area.”
Joint Owner, Lisa Fox, says, “We know that it’s been going really well and our customers are always exceptionally pleased with their experiences, we never imagined that we’d be recognised for our successes so early.”
Lisa Fox, who is also a Director on the board of the British Llama Society, continues, “Of course, Llamas and Llama welfare is at the heart of what we do. Our original group of eight llamas is now up to fourteen, with the Llamas continuing to work their magic on our guests who can also enjoy our home-made afternoon and cream teas that are all baked fresh here at our farm. We are particularly proud to have achieved a 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating from the Forest of Dean Council too.
In preparation for the upcoming awards, Rural Business Awards cofounder Anna Price explains why Briery Hill Llamas was handpicked by the judges. “Briery Hill Llamas was established by three animal enthusiasts - Lisa, Angel and Steve Fox - and their passion for these fascinating creatures really shone through in their entry.
“All sorts of people book our Llama Experience, from adults, families, corporate groups and hen parties, to 22

HEREFORDSHIRE OAK Hereford is famous for many things - one being the county’s wealth of oak trees. Heart of Oak is an artisan joinery business, fusing high-quality wood with expert design and craft to create spectacular furnishings.
Heart Of Oak offers traditional, hand-made, bespoke joinery and carpentry services. Oliver Price set up Heart Of Oak in 2002 along with his wife, Camilla. They believe that family-run businesses offer a more personal touch that you don’t benefit from with large chains. Although they provide a more personal experience, they are dedicated and professional in all aspects, to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Oliver’s passion and enthusiasm for working with wood drove him to achieve his City and Guilds qualifications, and he perfected his craft working for a local company. His work has been featured on prestigious projects at Powys Castle, Aberglasney Gardens, Hereford Cathedral, Berrington Hall and Llowes Court to name just a few. Working on elegant properties such as these aided him in gaining a wealth of knowledge, and experience. The quality of his work had reached an exceptional standard and was receiving merit far and wide.
Oliver transcended his skills into his own business and had been achieving great success since. Oliver has an eye for detail and an abundance of passion and enthusiasm. All projects are treated with utmost precedence. He intertwines traditional methods alongside modern approaches to produce a final product which is not only beautiful but can also withstand the tests of time. The products used in creating your work of art are of the highest quality. All timber is sourced locally and bound with quality ironmongery products. They also use natural finishes such as tongue oils and earth-based breathable paints. Oliver makes his own hand-made, hand cleft, oak pegs for many of his timber frames and hand planes a vast majority of the oak used. He favours specialised timber framing tools, such as mortise chisels, spokeshaves and draw knives, giving an authentic finish to the final product. 23
They also offer a full build and project management service, inclusive of sourcing all associated and trusted trades, thus ensuring you a high end, professional, and stress-free service. Alongside timber framing they also possess a great depth of knowledge in conservation repairs, specialising in listed and historic buildings. Heart Of Oak undertakes many projects from sash windows to ornate bridges. Give them a call to see what they can do for you!

The Crown Inn is a half-timbered building dating from the 17th Century; still retaining some of its original features - it has made news as the first Parish Council owned pub in Herefordshire.
THE CROWN INN
This wonderful pub is situated alongside the Village Green in the picturesque village of Dilwyn, one of the stops along the Black and White trail. The village has always held a special place in the heart of Maria Franzen, co-owner of The Crown Inn, as her grandparents have lived there for more than thirty years. Maria started in the pub trade from a young age, kick-starting her career in hospitality by becoming bar manager at The Talbot Hotel in Leominster, quickly followed by stints as an events manager and then the assistant manager. After spending 9 months travelling the world with her job with Princess Cruises she returned to the land and became manager of The Old Black Lion in Hayon-Wye, where she met Max. Max had a passion for food from a young age. Growing up in Carlino, North Italy, his parents taught him secret family recipes that had been passed down throughout the generations, stoking the fires of food passion and leading him to catering college and his first job as a chef.
After working in numerous restaurants throughout his home country, Max came to the UK in 2015, ultimately finding himself in The Old Black Lion alongside Maria. The pair quickly realised that they made an excellent team and so decided to look for a pub that they could take on, soon finding that the Parish Council were looking for new managers at The Crown Inn. They jumped at the opportunity and, after just a few weeks, decided to take on a full tenancy at the pub. Talking with Maria, Wye Life asked about the changes she and Max had made since taking over. “The Crown had not served food for over a year, so we started offering a mix of Italian and English cuisine just a few days after we had moved in. We also increased the opening times so that the pub was open all day, seven days a week, allowing us to serve food every lunch and dinner. Being open all day has made a massive change as we have received a lot of passing trade from the nearby main road. 24
Plus the locals know that the doors are always open if they fancy a drink or a bite to eat, so we have been extremely busy. We pride ourselves on being a real ale pub and serve eclectic ales on all four pumps, with several different local ales. We have an excellent knowledge of beers, wines and spirits, and have personally chosen the wine menu, which was also introduced after a few weeks of being here.” We asked why The Crown Inn is so well received with locals and first time visitors? “We like to make sure that everyone, whether they are returning or visiting for the first time, receives a warm welcome when they come through the door, either by ourselves or by our friends and family that have been coming in to help these past months. Max’s food has become very well known, and equally well loved, thanks to all of the ingredients used being locally sourced with the meals freshly made and home cooked.
We keep our menu small - with a selection of starters, mains, and desserts - but like to change it up every few days to keep the options fresh and exciting; whilst keeping a few favourites available all year round too. We are also a family friendly place with a great big garden and play area for children. “The village has been waiting for the pub to open properly for a long time, for a place to visit with friends and family where they can enjoy a meal out or a tasty beverage. We have become very close to the people of the village, all of whom have been extremely supportive every step of the way. We are so overwhelmed with the support we have received; locals have been kind enough to bring us home-grown vegetables, salad, and flowers for us to use in the pub.” The Crown Inn has quickly become the centre of the community, with friends and family coming from all over to get together to enjoy some home cooked food and an eclectic array of drinks. So what does the future hold for Maria, Max, and The Crown?
“We want to start holding more of our own events, such as live music, special dinner nights, and utilising space provided by our large the garden for beer festivals, garden parties, BBQ’s and more. In the coming years we are going to make a bistro area on the patio outside and turn a couple of our bedrooms into letting rooms. But in the meantime we are focusing on our events catering for big parties and weddings. Whether it is a small inside gathering, or a large party in need of a garden marquee, The Crown Inn is happy to help in any way we can.” 25

With a story that goes back three generations, The Three Horseshoes Inn is a traditional 17th Century country pub with produce supplied by the proprietor’s very own farm. So when the menu states its delicious offerings are locally sourced, it means it.
THE THREE
HORSESHOES
When the parents of Three Horseshoes owner, Russell Pugh, moved to the family farm in Allensmore in 1975, he could not foresee the events that would eventually lead him back to the family land. Growing up Russell helped with the daily duties; seeing to the cattle and sheep, helping collect the wheat and barley. Yet the world called out to him and, after leaving school, Russell took a different path, one that led him to become a garden designer and landscaper.
The farm is not the only thing to benefit from Russell’s return, the nearby Inn has also seen a boost. The Three Horseshoes Inn is a traditional 17th Century pub that, in addition to serving a wide range of drinks - both local and national varieties - and offering a great menu of food, has three letting rooms for those who fancy relaxing somewhere comfortable. The menu, as you would expect, features delicious local produce as well as beef and lamb supplied straight from the Pugh family farm.
For over ten years he worked in the industry, setting up a successful business in the process, yet by the age of thirty he started to miss the lush land he had grown up with. So, in 2012, Russell decided to return home.
The pub is a true British country pub, welcoming both locals and passing trade alike and offering something for everyone. A true local establishment in every sense of the word, so much so that it was the go to place for both Russell and his parents over the years. Keeping the place in the hands of local people was important to Russell, who told us about how important the Inn is when Wye Life spoke to him.
Since returning the farm has diversified and now deals with Lupins and Christmas trees in addition to cattle, sheep, wheat, and barley.
“We bought the pub as we wanted it to remain in local hands, stopping another buyer from turning it into a wine bar, something that would have 28
alienated the locals who love the pub as it is. We are in a wonderful location, situated just off the A465 Hereford to Abergavenny on the Hay Road, and act as a great starting or finishing point to visit the local attractions of Hereford, Hay and surrounding area.” “The pub garden was our first priority. We have opened it by cutting back overgrown shrubs and hedges to allow the area to be flooded with light. A new lighted pergola will be installed in the near future over an existing area of paving plus a new children’s play area has been constructed which is fully enclosed to allow piece of mind for parents, and provides a safe and secure play area. We have also installed a baby changing area to allow families of all ages to enjoy the pub.” The Three Horseshoes Inn Allensmore, Hereford HR2 9AS 01981 570329 www.threehorseshoesallensmore.co.uk

Darker nights, colder weather, the never ending requests for financial aid from teenagers and undergraduates and cries of ‘I’ve nothing to wear…you don’t understand’ from 12 year old daughters.Does this sound familiar…? Do you need comfort? Well don’t worry, if there’s one thing I know about it’s comfort food for comfort eating! That good old fashioned classic ‘Bread and Butter pudding’… forget that dim and distant memory of trying to obtain the perfect beach body and get stuck in. Here’s another delicious dish from Elley Westbrook at Twyford Cookers of Leominster .
AGA AUTUMN RECIPE BOOZY BREAD AND BUTTER PUDDING
I’m firmly attached to my Aga, roasts and comfort puds. This is a great recipe to serve up for a dinner party pud or leave out the brandy for the topping off of a family Sunday roast… that bit prior to the unheeded call for help with the washing up. The bit just before the fight for the best sofa (opposite the fire and with uninterrupted view of the Gogglebox). Ahhh family life! Bread and Butter Pudding I have used Hot Cross Buns in this recipe but you can use baps or any kind of bread… brioche is good too. I’ve used an Enamelled Aga Chef ’s dish measuring 24cm x 24cm and 5cm deep. Using a scrap of butter on a wrapper give the dish a good greasing before layering up with the bread and raisins. Ingredients l 6-8 hot cross buns l Butter for buttering buns l 100g golden caster sugar l 3 large free range eggs l 500ml double cream (or single cream or milk) l ½ tsp cinnamon l 150g raisins l 75ml brandy l 1 orange Method l If not using an Aga preheat the oven to 180C. l Soak
the raisins in the brandy in a bowl or jug at the back of the Aga.
l Slice
the hot cross buns in half and liberally butter. Layer these up in your dish.
l Grate
the zest of an orange over the buns and then squeeze over the juice.
l In
a bowl crack in the eggs and whisk. Add the cream and sugar and give another good whisk until the liquid has absorbed the sugar.
l Pour
the raisins in the brandy over the hot cross buns letting any surplus brandy soak into the buns. Even out the distribution of raisins and pour over the cream and sugar making sure all the buns are soaked.
l Leave
to stand for a few minutes before placing into the oven.
l 2 oven
Aga put the grid shelf on the floor of the oven with the cold plain shelf above. Cook for 30 minutes… or until the custard has set and top is Golden brown.
l Otherwise
cook low down in the baking oven for 30-35 minutes.
l Serve
with cream, ice cream, crème fraiche or custard. Hide the scales and Enjoy! 32

KILPECK INN
For over 250 years what is now The Kilpeck Inn (originally the Red Lion) has been settled in the south Herefordshire countryside in the beautiful village of Kilpeck. After a major refurbishment in 2010 the Inn still retains all of the traditional appeal found within a building that is almost three centuries old, only now with a few modern touches throughout. Ross Williams took over running the Kilpeck Inn in 2012 as head chef and general manager. Having had ten years of experience and a being a previous winner of the prestigious “Pub Chef of the Year” award, Ross brought all his skills and enthusiasm to bear on his new project. Attracted to the venue by its stunning location, superb facilities and the wealth of great produce in the area, Ross understands that food is now one of the greatest draws to the pub experience.

Kaely Backland of Usk welcomed us into her beautiful home and told us why she chose to work with Alexander James Bifold. How did you hear about Alexander James? I wanted some beautiful bifold doors. I researched online and found the Alexander James Bifolds website. I liked the look of it. It looked very professional and gave me the confidence to give the company a call. What made you choose to work with Alexander James? They came across very professional, both on the phone and when their representative, Andrew, initially came out to talk about their products and service before and after installation. What work did Alexander James carry out for you? They installed a set of bi-folding doors with four doors which open on to the garden. What difference have the doors made to the way you live? I already had PVC bi folding doors which were a substandard product and not fit for purpose. After talking with Andrew from Alexander James, and going with his advice to choose their aluminium product, I couldn’t be happier. The doors are not only a better quality product but, aesthetically, they are more pleasing - especially since I could almost choose any colour I wanted and, finally, the big plus - they actually work! Before I hardly bothered opening the PVC doors but now I use them all the time. I was so pleased with the work from this company that I have been back to fit all new windows throughout the property as well!

After creating Superman inspired jewellery and an unbreakable wedding ring for Laurence Fishburne, Cardiff jewellery designer Neil Rayment really is flying high.
STAR STRUCK What better way to commemorate the cinematic release of Man Of Steel than with a stunning jewellery creation inspired by Superman himself? As a fan of the superhero and friend of the film’s star Laurence Fishburne, award-winning goldsmith Neil Rayment wanted to create an out of the ordinary tribute in the shape of Kal-El’s Crystal - an homage to Superman’s birthplace, a timeless classic, expertly crafted in platinum and diamonds. “I was looking for something spectacular, I’m a huge fan of Superman and the franchise featured heavily in my childhood,” says Neil, owner and artistic director at Advanced Jewel Craft. “What better place to seek inspiration than the birth place of Superman?” Advanced Jewel Craft attracts clientele as sparkling as its bespoke pieces. The iconic brand has slowly blossomed since its inception in 2004 and is now a firm favourite amongst A-listers from LA to Abu Dhabi. Oscar-nominated actor Laurence Fishburne is one of Neil’s most prestigious clients. The pair met when Neil briefly switched jewellerymaking for acting and appeared alongside him in The Matrix sequels. Neil was honoured to be tasked with designing and creating Laurence and his wife Gina Torres’ wedding rings.

One of Hollywood’s real diamonds Laurence kindly took time out of his busy schedule to explain more about his experience of working with Neil. How did your friendship with Neil come about? We worked on The Matrix sequels together. We became friends on set and then I found out that Neil’s passion was for jewellery design. Have you kept in touch? Have you been over to Wales to visit him? Yes we’ve kept up with each other but still have not made it to Wales I’m sorry to say. I’ve heard that it’s a very beautiful country.

Neil designed and made your wedding rings. That’s a high pressure assignment - how was he to work with? He was terrific. The basic design was worked out between Neil and my wife. We’re delighted with the result. Can you tell us a little about the inspiration behind the design? Gina wanted something that would be unbreakable for me. I’m a would-be drummer, so I’m always beating things to hell. The platinum band and three diamonds are all a reflection of my personality and style. How involved were you in the design process? I’m very creative but I really felt it was best to trust both Neil and Gina on this one. It was our first custom jewellery experience. Neil often takes inspiration from films. If you could challenge Neil to design jewellery based on one of your previous films, which would it be? Probably King Of New York. I think that would be an interesting challenge for Neil but one I’m confident he could rise to. Created in his Cardiff Bay studio, Advanced Jewel Craft’s pieces are beautiful and exclusive. Neil adopts a personal approach, forging firm relationships with his customers. And while he works with A-list clients, his feet are firmly on the ground. “Jewellery is something that needs personal attention,” Neil says. “You can get entangled in the glamour, the parties, the shows, but the most rewarding thing is to see someone wearing one of my pieces and the pleasure it brings.”

If you haven’t tried it, you must! The UK may not be the manufacturing powerhouse it used to be but we still make shoes of exceptional quality. And yes, you pay a little more, but shoes of this quality (if you look after them) can last a lifetime. And you can’t say that about a lot of products these days.
THE LIGHT
FANTASTIC Vellacine have been manufacturing aluminium double glazing windows and conservatories in South Wales since 1978. We spoke to Managing Director, Mark Nayler about the resurgence of aluminium for windows and conservatories.
Vellacine has a solid reputation for supplying uPVC products. Why are you promoting aluminium? Aluminium went out of fashion simply because of problems with heat transfer between glass and frame. However, technological advances over the last ten years have meant that aluminium’s benefits of lightness and strength are making a serious comeback among consumers. We’re definitely noticing more enquiries, with customers asking us to cost a project alongside uPVC.
What are the benefits of aluminium? A warmer house, lower energy bills and less outside noise are just some of the benefits that our aluminium windows bring to the table. Increased security is important to customers. Our superstrong aluminium windows and superior locks help customers feel safer in their homes.
“The materials that we use are environmentally friendly, robust and durable. Our aluminium windows last for years without maintenance.”
Is aluminium eco-friendly? The materials that we use are environmentally friendly, robust and durable. Our aluminium windows last for years without maintenance.
What about colour? Our aluminium products can be custom-made for each property and come in almost any colour or style. They look great and our designs are highly attractive and certainly improve the look and value of a home. In addition to manufacturing aluminium products of the highest standard, we pride ourselves on the high standard of service we offer. Vellacine customers return to us time after time and most of our work is generated through word of mouth recommendation. We’re extremely proud of that. LEMORE M ANOR HEREFORDSHIRE’S HIDDEN HAVEN
Now it’s grand and elegant architecture has an altogether new life, a magnificent venue for weddings and events, large and small. Its’ new lease of life is the result of a decade of work by owners Margaret and Ben Owen. They saw it’s incredible potential and embarked on their challenge to fulfil their vision, retaining the character and elegance of the Manor and it’s surroundings, but to introduce all the amenities and features you might expect of a venue with a reputation for luxury. There is a lavish feel throughout the property, from designer furnishings, the new light filled Orangery, the ceremonial Coach House and the stylish boutique bedrooms for up to 38 guests. Outside the gardens are beautifully manicured and there are delightful walks in the grounds around the lake. With Lemore now established as an aspirational wedding venue, Margaret and Ben are keen to open the doors to a broader audience.
Margaret says, “We want more people to enjoy what Lemore has to offer. It’s a perfect setting for private parties and business, from as few as a dozen to as many as 150 plus. To get a flavour of Lemore, why not take tea in the Orangery, or besides the open fire in the Drawing Rooms. Tuesday Teas are served once a month – please refer to the Lemore website for details”.
There may even be the chance for you to show off your moves and go head to head in our ‘rockin’ dance off ’.
