Sports Lux; Just do it! here was a time when sweaty trainers were kept safely zipped away in your gym bag and sportswear was limited to either the playing field or the dodgy end of the estate! That has all changed. Sportswear has graced the catwalk a couple of times before, but never like this. Sports Lux, as it is called, is going to be everywhere for the spring and summer.

the sporty parka. Avoid the fur-hooded, khaki variety and choose something bright with a belt or drawstring to accentuate your shape. The catwalks have been teeming with Sports Lux. Chanel has brought out some acid yellow soled trainers and Pam Hogg's Lycra creations have come into their own. Don't forget your sporty accessories, I don't mean a lacrosse stick balanced on your shoulder; what about a fabulous sporty watch from Toywatch or Baby-G? Make sure you nail the walk too. You have to stride out to pull it off; try a few lunges before you leave the house to warm up.

Far be it from me to be a fashion dictator, but I don't want readers of this article to contribute to a '90s tracksuit revival. Think of bus stops filled with various shell-suits and dazzling white trainers, think of hoodies and velour bottoms; now, for the love of Adidas, block them all out of your mind.

The neon colours will make a statement on their own so keep make-up natural and your hair a little messy. The look is sexy but competitive. The key thing to remember is to look like there is absolutely no conceivable way you could possibly play sport in these clothes!

This look is about luxury. We're talking harem style shorts worn with sky scraper heels and a visor. Seek out your nearest American Apparel store for bright vest tops and wrist bands. Cavallini does some charming, off the wall hosiery that works well with this look. The only suitable jacket is

Walk Yourself Fit t's time to break the silence! For too long walking has been overlooked as an activity to help you lose weight and keep fit. Walking is cardiovascular and cheap, well‌.free, practically; unless you count the cost of a decent pair of shoes. In fact it will save you money on petrol or bus fares. It is a form of exercise that you can fit into your daily routine, you won't be berated for polluting the atmosphere and it can be done pretty much anywhere. It will improve the condition of your heart and lungs and increase bone density and, if done regularly, can increase your overall fitness levels. With beautiful Staffordshire countryside all around us, taking a walk is the perfect antidote to a stressful day at school, work or at home with the children. If you're one of the many Brits with at least one pet dog, even better. Possibly if your dog is like mine it will be more a case of him taking you for a walk than you taking him but you'll still be getting out there breathing in fresh air, experiencing the wonderful changing seasons and burning away those calories, getting that body into perfect shape for the coming holiday season (You can burn up to 130 calories - one small glass of wine - from 30 minutes of brisk walking). Staying active through walking can help prevent high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and osteoporosis and is one of the best forms of exercise if you have back or joint problems. As a low impact activity it is great for muscles without putting any unnecessary stress on your joints. It can help reduce depression and anxiety, make you feel more energetic and improve your quality of sleep. Talk to your GP first if you haven't exercised for a while and have concerns about getting active. Then grab you jacket/raincoat, wellies/trainers, dog/children and walk yourself fitter, slimmer and happier

ItÂ’sa Dog thing he Recall is the most important exercise that you will teach your dog. If you are unable to let your dog off the lead for fear of him/her not returningto you your dog is destinedto live life on a lead. This could have an impact on your dog developing good social skills and could lead to frustration due to him/her not being able to explore the environment which is essential for the dog's mentalandphysicalenrichment. Sowhatdoes The Recall actuallymean? As a dog handler/owner you should be able to call your dog and the dog should then respond by returningtoyouin any situationorenvironment. Here are the training stages that I have implementedforyoutobeabletoachievethis: 1.Know what motivates your dog to want to come back. If using food, it should be of high value, something which isn't always available unless training. If you are using a toy it should be somethingwhichisusedfortrainingpurposesonly, notjustsomethingwhichislyingaroundthehouse. 2.Introduce a whistle. At mealtimes the dog is asked to sit and the whistle is blown twice. This will teach good associations. The whistle will make your recall more reliable as when your dog's attention is on something else, the sound of the whistle will interrupt his/her concentration and bringhim/herbacktoyou. 3.Dog must be on a long line; this will prevent disobedienceifhe/shechoosesnottocomeback. 4.Work in familiar surroundings with little or no di st r act i ons, I t i s important to reward your dog as soon as he/she returns, do not ask your dog to sit as it is the recall that you want to reward not the sit, this will come later when you are able to

chainbehaviourstogether. 5.Having taught a good response under no distractionsthis is now the time to add distractions. You will know your dog and what your dog finds distracting, again make sure the dog is under control and on a lead. Watch for any signs of responsefrom the dog, call again if necessary, and wait. It is important to allow your dog time to respond, as soon as your dog turns to look back at you move away from the distraction in order that the dog has to follow you, this is now the time to reward the dog highly with whatever motivator you have been using. Now your dog gets a secondary reward,he gets to go back to the distractionshould he/shewishto.Repeattheprocessafewtimesand then take the distraction you have been using away. Your dog has now learned that coming away fromdistractionsisrewarding. 6.At this stage the distractions need to become more difficult, such as children playing, people cycling past you while you train etc. The line is still on and continues as stage 5 until you consistently getthedesiredresponse. 7.Once you are 99% confident that your dog will return to you under the distractions that you have used. You can now take the lead off and continue as per stages 5 and 6, It is imperative that when your dog returns to you reward highly in order for thebehaviourtocontinue. 8.Always reward your dog when he comes back to you even if it has taken several attempts to get him back, never scold the dog when he returns as he will associate coming back to you as a negative experience. Just as important don't just call your dog back to you when it's time for him/her to go back on lead as again the dog will associatethis as his/herfuntimeisover. 9.Always make yourself as exiting and interesting as possible, the aim is for your dog to see you as themostimportantthingontheuniverse. 10.Once you are happy that your dog is returning under all the distractions that you have placed him/her under gradually take away the rewards and just reward intermittently so he/she never knowswhattoexpectoncebackatyourside. 14

Step Up Or Step Off Recession. Doom and gloom, woe is me, life is bad.... GET A GRIP PEOPLE..

It is time to Step Up to the edge or Step Off, just get out of the way and let someone else who is prepared to work towards success have their turn. We all have times in our lives when things go wrong, and some of you are there right now. I empathise with you but you can do something about it. It does not have to be this way. All it takes is one decision that enough is enough and you can start the miracle of success that you are looking for. Lets face it, no one is going to give it to you on a plate so if you don t start to sort it out you will have to get used to the life you are living. So if you want more from life all you have to do is Step Up to the edge and jump into your future.

Take a look at the following and what do you see:

Most people will see opportunity is no where while others will see opportunity is now here . What about you? A new job? A new partner? Move house? Start your business? Is it the right time to change a few things, to start carving a better life for you and your family.

When is now a good time?..... Think

about it, if you wait for the perfect time something always gets in the

way. The only time we have is NOW, it is the only certainty, the past has gone, the future has not been written. Now is the time for you to work towards your better future, in whatever way you need to. Just start NOW, one more thing everyday will result in a massive change in one month. Then one month becomes two and so on until a year later you will look back on what you have achieved and how far you have come. Then you will realise that all it took was a decision, which led to a small success, then a bigger success. One step at a time. You can do it, there are people all around that have made a decision that enough is enough, they stood up to the edge and jumped out of the ordinary with a massive leap of faith and have never looked back.

The bottom line is this, if you don t change then nothing will change for you.

Opportunity is everywhere, all you have to do is start

looking

for

it,

open

your

eyes

and

be

prepared to step off the edge. Find some people that are working towards the things in life that you want. Get around them and ask them what did they do. Then do something that is really hard to do

and

that

is

LISTEN.

Successful

people

will

always tell you the truth. That is something I have learnt....

Who am I? I m just an ordinary person who was moaning about life until I decided to step up to the edge. I took the leap, I ve had to learn, I thought I couldn't succeed, but I never gave up. So, now it is your turn.

Step Up (to the edge) Or Step Off...
