WALLCOVERINGS 05 & AZURI VELVETS
WALLCOVERINGS 05 & AZURI VELVETS Anthology presents Vol 05 of its stunning compendium of innovative wallcoverings complemented by Azuri Velvets. Launched in Spring 2014, Anthology quickly established a reputation as ‘new thinking for walls’. With its market-leading style, derived from a broad spectrum of European influences, Anthology’s fresh and creative finishes and textures bring definition and style to any contemporary interior. Anthology 05 is a ground-breaking range of papers, inspired by pleats, folding, form and structure. Targeted at the wider international market, the latest collection remains true to the brand’s core values, but introduces a richer palette of on-trend colours. One of the Anthology Studio’s designers, Louise Draper, explains how the collection evolved: “Influenced by origami, I experimented with paper manipulation, tucking, gathering, crushing and crimping to create this beautifully tactile and versatile collection of wallpapers that has a distinctly cosmopolitan, global appeal.” The nine wallcoverings over 42 colourways are wide-width (68.8cm) and printed on a mix of vinyl and paste-the-wall bases, using a variety of techniques, embosses and embellishments. Anthology 05 will be accompanied by Azuri, a sumptuous yet practical range of velvets, which comes in eight mouthwatering shades. Extremely durable, Azuri Velvets are suitable for contract and domestic drapes and upholstery (Martindale rub test 50K+). Powerful and eye-catching, they pack a real punch in their own right, as well as working in harmony with the other Anthology fabrics. Anthology Studio designer Linda Thacker expands: “The Anthology Compendium was designed with longevity and usability in mind: the intention was always to add to the existing books, harmonising with existing designs, broadening the offer and, of course, keying in to current trends. With Anthology 05 and Azuri we have tried to keep our fingers on the fashion pulse, whilst also remaining true to the Anthology ethos and maintaining enduring appeal.” A broad spectrum of colours has been used to emphasise the sophistication and verstatility of the designs: subtle hints of oyster, shell and vanilla are complemented by saturated, vibrant tones of blood orange, citrus, peacock and kingfisher, which give Anthology 05 a more international feel and appeal. These shades are mixed with accents of metallics, including gold, silver, rose gold and copper, for added impact.
Both collections will be available from a network of stockists nationally and internationally. Samples are available on the website: stylelibrary.com/anthology Join our conversation on Social Media: #Wallcoverings05ByAnthology #AzuriByAnthology

THE WALLCOVERINGS Coral A very-usable, small-scale, delicate motif on paste-the-wall paper, which has been embellished with beads to give extra dimension enhancing the sparkle and glamour. Originally launched in Anthology 01, the versatile and popular Coral has been updated with four new colourways.
Elements This organic, elemental motif, printed on contract specification paste the wall vinyl is enhanced with a newly developed raffia emboss exclusive to Anthology. The design was created by layering, then crushing and creasing tissue paper. A misty, ethereal undertone is achieved by the movement and twists of colour which softly graduate in a horizontal ombrĂŠ. A free-match wallcovering, Elements is a powerful statement design that carries colour really effectively. Available in six colourways.
Ethereal A striking and pleasingly balanced stripe, this design is inspired by Klecksography, which is the art of making images from folded paper and inkblots. The use of this technique has created abstract motifs in loosely structured rhythmic blocks. Ethereal is printed on paper-backed vinyl, highlighted with a refined silk emboss, which enhances the substrate for added impact. Available in five colourways.
Hibiki This wallcovering has been inspired by Anthology’s Hibiki corded velvet, with its ribbed effect and clever play on contrasting colour. Printed on a contract specification paste the wall vinyl and embellished with a horizontal emboss to create a natural grass cloth effect. The shadowy 3-D appearance owes much to accordion pleating, the scale of which makes it a versatile semi-plain vinyl with real impact. Available in five colourways.
Illusion The aptly-named design is printed on paper-backed vinyl, which is dappled with a suede-effect emboss to add dimension. Its all-over, organic appearance was inspired by twisting and knotting tissue, which results in an angled, crumpled and textural look. Available in four colourways.
THE WALLCOVERINGS Modulate This dramatic, 3-D wallcovering was inspired by a high fashion garment - the origami structure and form of which was captured by photography to create a dynamic pattern once repeated and graduated across the width of the substrate. Modulate works equally effectively vertically or horizontally: its smallscale zig-zag motif is printed on paper-backed vinyl with a new ‘brushed metal’ emboss for further sheen and depth. The graphic design offers extra dimension to the collection complementing the more organic designs with its showstopping appearance. Available in three colourways.
Plica A vertical design evoking crushed paper, printed on a contract specification paste the wall paper and enhanced with an additional sparkle layer and new, symbiotic ‘tissue emboss’. The ethereal appearance is due to delicate dusting of gold, copper and pure silver flake glitter, a novel technique unique to Anthology. Plica sits harmoniously alongside the new velvet collection, Azuri. Available in four colourways.
Seri A highly versatile, paper-backed vinyl with raffia emboss, a free match design with the appearance of hessian. Seri is existing design: its grass-cloth motif has been reintroduced and re-coloured to reflect a more diverse, vibrant and European colour palette. Available in five colourways.
Shatter Appropriately-named, Shatter has been inspired by crackle-glass and a splintered mirror effect. Truly multi-layered and printed on non-woven, the structural element of the design provides form and dimension, whilst the addition of beading alludes to a glassy, reflective surface combined with the depth and opulence of flock depending on how the design is lit. Available in five colourways.
