Installation Instructions and Aftercare for Metallic Illusion Before you cut and hang, please be sure you have : 1. The correct wallcoverings and the correct amount of wallcoverings to finish the job. 2. Inspect the wallcoverings carefully to ensure it is free of defects: If no defect is evident before installation, the material should be inspected after three (3) stripes are installed. If any defect is evident at this time (or at any point in the installation) no additional material should be hung until Goodrich Global is notified. 3. NO CLAIMS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR MORE THAN (3) STRIPES ON THE WALL. All claims must be made within 60 days of the invoice date. No labor claims will be allowed at any time.
WALL PREPARATION : 1. The walls to be covered must be properly prepared to ensure that the wallcoverings will adhere to the wall surface. Even the strongest adhesive can only work when the wall surface is clean and properly prepared. 2. Goodrich Global recommends that installers use a hard, acrylic, pigmented, wall-protecting primer that is SPECIFICALLY made for WALLCOVERING INSTALLATION and WALL PROTECTION.
HANGING : 1. Each shipment contains a label with batch numbers. Before installation, ensure that rolls to be installed are from the same batch to avoid colour variations. 2. Handcrafted wallcovering are usually cut into strips and dry trimmed. Take care to trim accurately. Be sure edges are even before installation. DO NOT DOUBLE CUT. 3. Apply material to wall using a soft brush and plastic smoother, work from the center out to the edges. To avoid trapping air bubbles, use an oval seam roller to butt seams. 4. Wash plastic smoother and seam roller often, as an accumulation of paste on tools may cause marks or scratches on the material. Completely clean adhesive off the surface after each strip is hung. 5. Wash seams with a damp sponge and clean water. Change rinse water often. Any adhesive left on the surface can cause flaking. Dry carefully with a soft cloth or chamois.
AFTER CARE 1. Stain can be easily removed when wiped off immediately with a clean sponge. Use a mild detergent to clean the wallcoverings. Do not use solvent based cleaning agents, lacquer thinner and nail cleaning agents that contain bleach. They may cause discoloration over a period of time. Do not soak. 2. Avoid excess rubbing or pressure so as not to damage the finish.
3. Allow the primer to dry thoroughly before hanging.
ADHESIVE : 1. A clear, pre-mixed vinyl adhesive with low water content should be applied. Do not dilute. Allow the adhesive to become tacky. Let it set for at least 20 minutes. 2. Premium clear adhesive WA-288 is highly recommended by Goodrich Global for ALL types and weights of fabric-backed and non-woven wallcoverings. Specification of WA-288 • Exclusively distributed by Goodrich Global • Non-hazardous vegetable adhesive from the U.S.A. • All components are approved by the U.S. EPA • LEED compliant (may contribute to IEQ Credit 4.1 & 1.5) • Includes bactericide and mildewcide • Dry strippable with fabric-backed wallcoverings • Zero VOC (≤5 grams/liter) SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE INSTALLATION, KINDLY CONTACT GOODRICH GLOBAL BEFORE PROCEEDING.
