Donald Trump is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization, a private company specializing in global real estate development and global licensing, sales and marketing, brand development, and property management. The company’s portfolio includes golf courses, entertainment ventures, restaurants, hotels, and residential, office, retail and resort real estate. Born in Queens, New York, Trump started his career in an office he shared with his father, Fred, at Elizabeth Trump & Son, a family-run business that Fred and his mother (Donald Trump’s grandmother) founded in 1923. Trump worked at the company while attending Wharton, joined full-time upon graduation, and began running the company in 1971. It was renamed The Trump Organization in 1999. Over the past 45 years, Trump has grown that family-run business into a real estate empire, developing luxury properties in New York City and around the world. Over the years, he has authored more than 15 books, including the well-known business classic, The Art of the Deal.
