KIMBERLY YEE STATE SENATOR, ARIZONA DISTRICT 20 MONDAY

State Senator Kimberly Yee, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, was born and raised in the heart of Legislative District 20. She has a distinguished career in public policy and governmental service working in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. Yee serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce and Workforce Development. She serves as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Education and is a member of the Committee on Health and Human Services and the Committee on Finance. Yee is also a legislative member of the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools and the Joint Legislative Income Tax Credit Review Committee. In 2013, she was elected to serve in the leadership position of Elected National Order of Women Legislators Representative to the National Foundation of Women Legislators Board. The voters of Arizona’s 20th Legislative District elected Yee as State Senator in 2012. She was elected and served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2010 to 2012. She had previously served for a partial term as an appointed State Representative. She is the first Asian-American woman elected to serve in the Arizona Legislature.
