Lieutenant General Michael T. Flynn has spent his entire life and career serving his country. He served in various command and staff positions in the U.S. Army and as Assistant Director of National Intelligence for Partner Engagement before becoming Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency on July 24, 2012. During his time in the Army, Lieutenant General Flynn held high-ranking leadership posts at the Joint Special Operations Command and U.S. Central Command. He served in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also completed assignments at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; with the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; and as Senior Observer/Controller for Intelligence at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Flynn’s illustrious career has earned him awards that include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Joint Service Commendations Medal. Lieutenant General Flynn and his wife, Lori, have two sons. Link to official bio
