All-Time Assistant Coaches

Chambers and the Nittany Lions powered through the 2018 postseason, advancing to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals for the second time, and returned to Madison Square Garden to capture the program's second NIT Championship. Chambers had Penn State positioned for a berth in the 2020 NCAA Tournament before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nittany Lions earned more than 30 All-Big Ten Conference recognitions during Chambers' tenure with Lamar Stevens becoming only the second to earn first-team accolades twice. Josh Reaves was named the 2019 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and both Stevens and Reaves signed with NBA teams. All-Big Ten performers Tony Carr, the first Nittany Lion drafted since 1999, Tim Frazier and DJ Newbill, as well as several other players, went on to play in the professional ranks.

At the 2019 Final Four, Chambers accepted the Coaches vs. Cancer Collegiate Champion Award on behalf of the local committee members, volunteers and sponsors who helped make Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State one of the top chapters in the nation.

Chambers was named the head coach at Florida Gulf Coast University in March 2022.

INTERIM HEAD COACH JIM FERRY

Years: 2021 (1) Record: 11-14 (.440)

Jim Ferry took over at interim head coach for the 2020-21 season. He guided the Nittany Lions to an 11-14 overall record and 7-12 mark in the Big Ten.

Ferry led the Nittany Lions in a season like no other as the world navigated the COVID-19 pandemic. He coached the Nittany Lions to a pair of wins over nationally-ranked foes in No. 14/13 Wisconsin and No. 15/15 Virginia Tech as Penn State navigated a schedule that was ranked the strongest in the country by KenPom.
