Mohammad Samiullah—11 ME 50
Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology before 1996 was known as Mehran University College of Engineering & Technology.
My University
It was established in 1974 as a campus of Mehran University of Engineering & Technology in Nawabshah. In the main campus of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, there was no arrangement of Mechanical Engineering Department because of the lack of machineries in Mehran University, so Mehran University arranged Mechanical Engineering Department in QUEST (at that time known as MUCET). The reason behind arranging Mechanical Engineering Department in QUEST was that it contained those machineries which no other university of Pakistan had at that time & at this time too. These machineries were also useful for Electrical Engineering, so Mehran University arranged Electrical Engineering Department in QUEST (MUCET). Mehran University College of Engineering and Technology (MUCET) in 1996 became a University with the name of Quaid-eAwam University of Engineering, Science and Technology (QUEST). In the beginning, there were only three engineering departments in QUEST namely,
5
1. Mechanical Engineering Department 2. Electrical Engineering Department 3. Civil Engineering Department
My University
Day by day, the number of departments has been increasing in QUEST. Now there are 9 departments in QUEST, out of which there are 6 Engineering Departments in QUEST & 3 Science Departments. Engineering Departments: 1. Mechanical Engineering Department 2. Electrical Engineering Department 3. Civil Engineering Department 4. Electronics Engineering Department 5. Computer Systems Engineering Department 6. Energy and Environment Engineering Department Science Departments: 1. Computer Science 2. Mathematics 3. Information Technology We promise to prove that the QUEST, Nawabshah is one of the best Engineering Universities of Pakistan.

was born in a small village, Kolab Jeeal, District Khairpur Mir’s on December 25, 1951. My honorable father was a farmer. I did my middle standard in my own village and matriculation from Government High School, Khuhrra (near Gambat) in 1971 and stood first in the class, then I did my Diploma of Associate Engineer from Government College of Technology, Khairpur in 1974 in Mechanical Technology. I did my Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro in 1990. I started my job as an Assistant Workshop Instructor in 1976 at Government High School Pacca Chang, Taluka Faiz Ganj. In February 1978, joined as Junior Workshop Instructor, and promoted to Senior Workshop Instructor in January 1984, then as a Lecturer in August 1990. Then I was promoted to Assistant Professor. Feelings on leaving my University are really strange to me; it’s like leaving home, colleagues, the place where I spent such great time. I unable express my true feelings in words. I hope that my University will continue to head towards the International Level. Now the University has much better and highly qualified faculty and great facilities, ranging from Laboratories to Library and Internet. The Present and Future are the hardest time, and competition. Work hard, it is the only possible key to success.
