reason I say almost is it will come back in usually about 10 months to a year, and then you will need to repeat the steps again. I came across it from another person who has suffered from this health problem and has been through many surgeries with no help. I myself have been through one surgery in which the cyst came back a year later. The cure is to put cayenne pepper mixed with water in the sinus opening of the cyst for 3-4 days straight using an eye dropper with a narrow end. The solution should be 1 heaping teaspoon of pepper in a cup of water used over the 3-4 day period. This does sting quite a bit for the first minute or two after the pepper is injected but subsides afterwards. Note: you will probably need someone to do it for you to really get the solution in the sinus. I've read this works because the sting of the pepper brings a rush of white blood cells to the area, not sure if that is true or not, but it worked for me. Of course check with your doctor before doing anything. I'd also be interested if anyone else has found other ways to deal with this issue."

Then in January of this year I was took I had MRSA and then a month later my 20 year old daughter found out she had it.She had a boil in the front between her legs and and on the sids of her finger nails. They seemed to last a week or two, and even after they burst, the area remained tender for a few days. My Grandmother gave me a teaspoon of Cream of Tarter mixed with about 6 oz. of water when I had a boil the size of a golf ball. Within about 4 hours it had burst, and the next day, it was gone. Now I use it all the time, with great results. She says "It cleans your blood", but I'm sure there is a scientific reason for it. You may want to use warm water, as it doesn't dissolve well in cold water. Also, it tastes very acidic, so I usually dissolve it in an ounce of warm water and mix it with cold orange juice, and you can't taste it at all."

After lots of research and a trip to a local allergy specialist i found that was actually allergic to aluminum zirconium, a very common ingredient in antiperspirants (see http://health.howstuffworks.com /question627.htm for more information) i switched to an antiperspirant withouts actually allergic to aluminum zirconium and the boils stopped. My allergy Dr. told me that alot of people actually get misdiagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa because of boils in the armpit when all that is wrong with them is their choice of antiperspirant. i also want to point out that i have seen this ingredient listed on several feminine hygiene products for moisture control."

Believe it or not, white vinegar, applied topically, helps them to go away. I read about it and tried it. I have noticed that my diet may affect getting boils. When I eat a clean diet, adding fruits and vegetables, not too much fat, a little olive oil OK. a LITTLE ... cut out the junk foods, high sugar treats, eat whole grains in moderation, flesh foods in a diminished capacity, and I am also drinking alkaline water, the ph issue is correct. It makes a world of difference. Since I have been trying to eat more high alkaline foods my boils, have disappeared without any topical treatment. Drink lots of water with ph drops to heal your body from the inside out. All fruits and veggies, some fish, especially fatty fish is good for you. Find online information about ph drops and you will open a world of information that will help you find out how to improve your alkaline levels. Most of the foods we enjoy cause us to overdo acids in our bodies causing acidosis, which causes disease. Fish need a proper ph to survive, we won't go into a pool before it is a proper ph because we know we could get sick. Our bodies also need to stay in a healthy ph range in order to stay health. [YEA] 04/07/2008: Mark from Nashville, Tennessee writes: "I have had a staph infection on my face for two years (folliculitis). I first went to an internist doctor who gave me two weeks of dioxcycline (100mg once a day). It did not work. Then I went to a dermatologist who told me that I had roseaca. However, it was on my forehead not a common site for roseacea. I was given 100 mg of minocycline once a day, which caused the infected follicles to produce pus which spread the infection all over my face and onto my chest. From searching the internet, I discovered that puting 1/2 bottle of Lysol Concentrate (which kills staph) into my washing machine when washing the items (pillow cases) that touched my infection drascically cut down on the constant spread of the infection. I returned to the Dr to try to get her to start treating me for what I actually had, staph, but she would not back down from her roseacea diagnosis. Realizing that she was misdiagnosing me, I went to a second dermatologist. He said I indeed had staph, and that I needed 100mg of antibiotics twice a day, a sulfur wash twice a day to kill the staph on my skin, and to take the antibiotics for a month after the spreading stopped. He tried three different antibiotics in succession for one month each, but none worked to his satisfaction. Not having insurance to pay for more intensive efforts, I gave up. When I got a job a year later with insurance, I returned to the last Dr. I had figured out that one of the antibiotics he had tried the year before - minocycline had been working. I told him and so he tried it again. It only got the infection down to a certain point and then stopped working. I figured out that my diet coke addiction was keeping me so dehydrated that the minocycline wasn't wroking. I stopped drinking caffeine beverages and my staph infection was almost cured. But it still would not totally heal. Then I discovered to wait three hours instead of two after taking the medicine to eat. Eating two hours after taking the medicine wasn't letting the full dose absorb into my body. Then the infection began to totally heal. In the mean time, the Dr told me that I had been on the antibiotic too long and started trying to reduce my doseage and take me of of the minocycline. I had to beg to be allowed to continue taking it till I was cured. It finally cured. I wish I had known about tumeric because of all the emotional turmoil I

had to go though over two years. The first two traditional medicine doctors weren't competent in treating staph, and the third was so uncommunicative that I had to struggle for months to figure out how to make the prescribed antibiotic work. The papers that came with the antibiotic just said not to drink alcohol and to wait 2 to 3 hours before and after taking the medicine to eat. I had to endure eight months of having to wait hours to eat because of all this. I hope this saves someone from going through two years of treatment when they should have been cured in two or three months."

[YEA] 04/08/2007: Eileen from Northwest US writes: "I've experienced extremely painful boils/ acne-like, very hard but with no pus starting about 2 yrs ago. I am of average weight and have a healthy diet. I spent many, many months trying to pinpoint the source, doing lots of research. I did finally go to an allopathic nurse pracitioner who said it was impetigo (because they use yes/no answers on a computerized diagnosis program. WRONG! I believe that it's dermatitis herpetiformus, but I didn't want to go through a biopsy to confirm it. It only occurs when gluten is consumed (which is in just about everything packaged). It is exacerbated by hormonal cycles and low thyroid. I think that perimenopause has thrown off my hormone balance and has led to gluten intolerance. Here's what helps: stop consuming all grains and follow a diet for candida/yeast. This takes a long time, and it was really hard to do, but it is the only real solution I've found. (After finally healing and staying off flour for a year and a half, I had one slice of pizza, and it's deja-vu all over again). Topically, use niacinamide gel (Metazine from Life Link) very frequently (really helps reduce inflammation), salicylic acid gel, and yes, I use cortisone too. I think the niacinamide works best. Vit E is ok if not sourced from wheat. Taking massive supplements hasn't helped (like high doses of A, D, E, selenium, zinc, even up to 400mg CoQ10 -no response. I do use curcumin, wobenzym, niacinimide, colloidal silver. Thyroid supplementation has been a significant help. I have used real low doses of doxycycline for a very limited time and it did seem to help a bit but I stopped due to a reaction beginning. I used activated charcoal and it's possible that considering the link between wheat sensitivity, leaky gut or IgA deficiency, and the breakout a few days later, that it's the charcoal's work not the doxycycline that really helped at that time. Of course, maybe it's really from chemtrail fallout. Who knows? Whatever it is, it is HELL and the Metazine works wonders. Good luck."

DISTILLED VINEGAR AND COLLOIDAL SILVER

1 YEA [YEA] 09/02/2006: Augustine from MA writes: "I tried the turmeric for four days, hoping for a miracle, and my boil began to rapidly enlarge. Since one of your readers had mentioned that, like anything in life, sometimes it will get worse before better I did stick with it as long as I could. Finally I was in a desperate situation. The boil was huge and very painful. On another site I read about soaking approx. 5 layers of paper bag, cut to the correct size for your boil, in distilled vinegar and covering the boil overnight. Long strips of medical tape should be used so the wet paper will stick. The next morning there was a small scab at the top so I took a shower to moisten it, lifted the top of the scalp and the whole boil drained. It did feel better, but of course the lump was still close to the same size and very tender. From there I made sure to keep the area very clean and I bought colloidal silver and Curad silver bandages. (For those who don't know of the healing powers of silver, you should do some research.) I put 1 drop of silver under my tongue 3x p/day and one on the boil 5x the first day and kept it covered at all times with the silver bandage. By that evening the boil was 1/4 of its size, and the next morning it was gone. The skin is still slightly damaged, but the silver is supposed to prevent scarring as well. (It has prevented scarring on patients with 3rd degree burns.) The best part is that all of the pain disappeared with the first silver drop."

DRAINING THE BOIL

We tried some other treatments, but they didn't work. The boil had increased in size and become more painfull. I took alcohol and rubbed the area. I took a very, very sharp pointed knife and cut into the boil (had gloves on) and drained it. It was about the size of a quarter. There was lots of drainage. But in about a week it healed a lot. Another week and it was gone."

1 YEA [YEA] 02/15/2006: Lisa Marie from Morrisville, PA writes: "I tried a lot of 70% alcohol, neosporin, and hot water packs. I occasionally take a one a day. Out of all of this I usually resort to going to the doctors and getting the prescription drug SPECTRACEF cefditoren pivoxil 200mg tablets, and take them twice a day. After about a week it kinda clears it up. The only thing that really cleared up the boils were the SPECTRACEF. All the other items were just methods of keeping the infection down and helping with the pain. Without the prescription I usually just resort to popping them with my hands, alcohol, and alot of band aids. But one thing that I notice is that when I squeeze and the blood comes out, there's somewhat of an oily substance in my blood. Kind of like when you cook a pot of soup and you can see little oil drops floating on the surface. This made me think that maybe I was consuming too much oil in my diet, so I cut out a considerable amount of oil and fried products out of my daily meals. I did notice that the number of boils went down after trying that. Now at this point I'm leaning towards trying aloe vera juice daily along with the reduced oil/fat diet. I've heard that aloe vera juice is good for cleansing the blood. I'll be sure to keep you posted on the results."

I thankfully discovered this site and have used the powers of turmeric to successfully treat this second boil on my neck. The boil was red and angry when I started taking 1/2 tsp of turmeric 4 times a day. What I also did was make a paste that I applied topically. The paste was made with a Cetrimide ointment (branded as Savlon here in the UK) and turmeric powder. This paste was covered with a sticking plaster and changed twice a day. The results have been amazing. After three days the boil has completely drained and the skin has almost healed. What remains is what looks like the remnants of a love bite, but this is more due to some staining of the skin by the spice than any skin reaction. I don't know if it would have healed as well without the paste - but what I do know is that attacking the boil from within and from the outside has cleared the problem faster than I would ever have thought possible. My mother told me about boils mentioned in the bible and how God told someone to treat boils with Fig. I have been eating Fig and taking the seeds out and putting the skin of the Fig under a bandaid. It seemed to work for me so far. They aren't totally gone, but they don't seem to be so bad. I also wipe the area with Wet Wipes. Have been taking Echinacea, Zinc, Vitamin C.with Ester. I've suffered with them in the past, and like another one of your readers I thought mine may be hormone related since I used to break out prior to my menstral cycle. I asked my endocrinologist on my last visit to have my thyroid levels checked if it could be related (she said "possibly") but she also told me to watch what I ate just prior to getting a boil. She suggested I never eat peanuts and chocolate together (what?). She said separately they are fine, but never eat them together (as in some of my favorite candy bars). I took her suggestion and even tested it later by intentionally eating it... sure enough, within days I could feel the start of old boil sites coming back. I'm happy to say that since I've avoided that combination I don't have any more problems. And yes, I can still eat peanuts and chocolate, as long as it's a few hours apart and they don't hit my stomache at the same time! Other nuts, such as walnuts and pecans don't seem to cause any problems. And you have to admit, chocolate covered walnuts are a pretty darn good substitute for peanuts so I don't feel deprived at all! Also, I just recently asked my dermatologist about the peanut/chocolate connection and she said she knew about that problem personally (she avoids the combo too) but she didn't know it was a widely know belief and was happy to hear it worked for others. They are contagious and popping them only helps to spread the infection. It can also become airborne and you can get pneumonia from it. The best cure I've found so far is a combination (I tried it all together because I wanted to be sure it was dead) of unpasteurized honey, collodial silver, and garlic tablets that contain Allicin (most important ingredient). My nephew had a boil on his knee that antibiotics did not treat. We put the unpasteurized honey on it and it pulled all of the infection out and healed on it's own. I had a place come up but I treated it promptly by dropping collodial silver on it and covering it with unpasteurized honey, a silver bandage, and taking garlic internally. [YEA] 12/12/2007: Brad from Atlanta, GA writes: "I have had a boil break-out' regularly for the past few years, usually about once a year. They seem to be getting more frequent and progressively worse each time. This last time I started with one itchy red bump and it turned into about 12 all over my buttocks and legs within 3 weeks. I tried the turmeric (which I had never tried before) after about 2 weeks because they got so bad, and it helped SOME, but not a lot, I was still getting new ones. It was painful to sit down, to walk, to do anything really. I decided to try "the Holy Grail" from Sean and it really seemed to work. I was taking 4 caps of the Turmeric I bought from Walmart 3 times a day. It did seem to slow the intensity of the boils but I didn't get the type of relief that others seemed to get. When I started taking the supplements Sean recommended along with the Hibeclens and the tea-tree oil it stopped dead in its tracks. Here's what I did: Coninued with the turmeric as I was taking, took the other supplements once a day, and used antibacterial soap to clean my whole body twice a day. Then in the shower or bath I thoroughly washed anywhere boils usually came up with the Hibeclens. Then after I bathed I put some tea-tree oil in the palm of my hand and also put that anywhere I was susceptible to the boils. And I started with the q-tip of KY and tea tree oil in my nostrils twice a day. This combination immediately started healing the boils I had and since I've started the regimen I have not had any new ones. A couple things: I think the Hibeclens is very important to use to aid in the appearance of new boils, but it doesnt necessarily help in the healing of the old ones.It keeps the ones you have from spreading though because it puts a protective antifungal type layer on your skin that repels the bacteria and for hours and keeps you from getting new ones. Hibeclens can be bought at most pharmacies just ask the pharmacist where it is. It's kind of expensive but SO worth it. When I started on Sean's regimen, I also cut out virtually all of the processed sugar and white flour from my diet. This was VERY hard for me, but it was a sacrifice I was willing to make to get rid of the boils. This site has taught me how important this is. The sugar freezes your bodies ability to fight off the infection for up to four hours after you eat it. So in that time the boil is free to manifest itself and get worse and grow new ones with no fighting response from your body until the sugar works its way out of your system. The turmeric purifies your blood, but the sugar and white flour puts the toxins right back in. So you're fighting an uphill battle . If you want to keep boils under control you HAVE to cut down on your sugar and white flour intake. Do not ever ever touch a boil with your bare hands and do not ever ever ever try to squeeze it. You can put hot compresses on it all you want, and if it pops under the heat thats fine, but the oils on your hands and skin will IMMEDIATELY make a boil worse if you touch it. And I've also found, especially with the boils I have had on my butt, that any pressure on them makes them fester and grow into the skin instead of outwardly. The lesson here is to keep the pressure off the boil as much as possible. If you have them on your butt use a hemmorhoid pillow or some type of cushion that keeps the pressure off the boil. Especially when you drive. I personally don't like to use band-aids or bandages on them because I feel everytime I do it just creates pressure by being covered and makes them worse and more painful. Of course several places on this site it discusses how important it is to keep them covered especially when they burst or drain - so use your own judgement here. Also advil helps considerably with the pain. I hope this helps some people."

I'd had it opened and drained by a surgeon, and had to have it packed every day for weeks. I took antibiotics, which gave me a massive allergic reaction. It was not healing. Finally the opening the surgeon had made became too small to insert the packing gauze, and I just set a gauze square on the outside. It flared up again almost immediately. 3 to 4 times a day and waiting until it completely melts will kill the boil. The information I came across said that boils need heat to grow and that the ice cubes stop them in their tracks. When you put the ice cube on it has a burning sensation and after 3 or 4 days the boil went completely away that I had. Just thought I'd share. An inexpensive remedy."

I discovered that if I eliminate all forms of hidden MSG [do an internet search to find all that it is in] that my skin is perfectly clear. I am so sensitive that I cannot even touch anything with citric acid or natural flavor which is a form of hidden MSG and is in most shampoos, liquid hand soap, prepared foods, pop etc. I convinced my husband to eliminate all hidden MSG and his headaches, ezcema and skin rash went away. Now when he has any exposure the itchy, weepy skin rash comes back and today it is back with a vengence. He had mustard on Sunday and it flared. By Monday evening it was drying up and he licked the spoon of the ice cream he served our children and during the night it erupted so bad he could hardly sleep. A good rememdy for all these skin things is a 125 watt clear infrared bulb. Not only will this clear up the skin but is great for any aches and it healed my son of acute asthma. At first I had no idea what it was, but it rapidly increased in size and pain, began to itch around the edges and turned very red. My mother (a nurse) told me it was a boil on Sunday and to "leave it alone" (I have a bad habit of picking at wounds, etc.). Through the night, this became one of the most painful things I had ever experienced. The next day, Monday, everything I did was a royal pain - getting in and out of my car, sitting down in a chair, even walking because the boil was on my lower back, just above my rear-end and a few inches to the right of my spine. I knew I had to do something or I would lose my mind, so I started researching remedies, and I came across your site. Monday night, I went home, took a long, hot, epsom salt bath/soak, and then swabbed the entire area with iodine. The next morning, I cleaned the area, then swabbed it with more iodine. This seemed to reduce the pain slightly and the itching more. Partway through the day, it started getting a little more sensitive, so I figured I'd try it again. I went to the bathroom at work and cleaned it up and put some more iodine on it, making sure to spend a good deal of time just resting the iodine swab on the scabbed area of the boil. Through the rest of the day, the pain did not seem to diminish, so I had decided to try baking soda when I got home. However, before my mom left for work, I asked her if she would please remove the bandage I had put on and check to see if it looked any better. Taking off the bandage was very painful, and I was afraid that it was no better at all. However, I was plesantly surprised to find out that the reason it was painful was because it was DRAINING. Yes, less than 24 hours after starting the iodine, after just 3 treatments, the draining started. It was great. We cleaned it well with some peroxide and put some neosporin on it, then some gause to help soak up the pus. After a while, I did another epsom salt bath/soak and took a shower, where I washed it well with a tea tree oil / aloe vera body wash. Out of the shower, I again cleansed it with peroxide, then put on some more neosporin, one of those

non-stick pads, and a bandage to catch the ooze. Hopefully it will all drain out today or tomorrow so that it will just be a distant memory by this weekend. :) Thanks for all of your help! P.S. I was thinking of trying an oatmeal-and-baking soda combo tonight to see if that makes a core come out."

I can assume it to have been a boil, anyway it started as a small bump, I thought maybe an ingrown hair. After a few months it was still there only very much larger, hard, dark brown and painful. Don't know what it was, probably dont want to know, but after a weeks worth of iodine swabbed on from a q-tip, it has become only a scar. It was almost diameterically dime sized and raised about 1/4 inch ... little more as it centered in, so I painted about an inch all around it as well, just for added measure ;) One thing, I also have a skin tag near it, I also applied it to that and nothing happened to it sadly. But whatever "bumps" you've got ... give some iodine a shot!!"

This was fine for 2 days and today there is an extremely TINY bump that formed near the original infection area. I think it is so small because of the turmeric in my system. But I doused it anyway with iodine and gave a fresh douse to the whole area that had been infected. I also keep a plastic bucket in the tub and fill it with water and a few drops of iodine. I reach into the bucket and swish around, this will clean under the nails, and rub the iodine water up my arms. Also I soak my clothes overnight in an iodine water solution as described. Before going out today, I am going to bathe with the solution and when I get home, bathe with it and change into new clothes. Of course making a new solution each time. I want to deeply thank the people who run and post in this forum because without your information, I would have had a disaster on my face. I am teaching others as fast as possible in my area. A friend who lives with me owns a large daycare. She is taking all this information very seriously. During the last several years I have learned to live with boils popping up all over my chin area including on my nose once. I held a q-tip soaked in colorless iodine to the boil until it burst. It scabbed over and took about a week to heal. I would try something else on my face next time because I think it will take weeks before the blemish actually fades (looks now like a large freckle). But for boils elsewhere on the body, I would go for iodine."

[YEA] Earth Clinic writes: "Use colorless (aka "decolorized") iodine on the face, as iodine will stain your skin orange. Hold a q-tip soaked in iodine to the boil for several minutes. Replenish the iodine if the q-tip dries out too much. The boil will burst. However, it does scab and take about a week to heal. Cover with fresh aloe or dab with hydrogen peroxide 3x a day to speed healing."

really helped. Then i would take a hot hot bath ( hot as you can stand) and put Emsom Salt in there around the boil. It brought it to a head so i could pop it. Afterwards i started using Sodium Chloride' by the next day it was gone!!! It was the best for me!!"

She had a very painful boil on her armpit that the doctor was going to lance if it didn't break by a certain day. Well, this frightened her so she went in a very hot shower with a bar of Ivory brand soap (she always swore by this brand for ailments and always kept a bar handy) and rubbed that boil up and down with the soap. It burst after I don't know how long. My theory besides the hot water is that Ivory soap dries the skin and makes it constrict, therefore bursting it. But grandma swore something in the soap was helpful, I don't know what, and maybe it drew the boil to a head. I love this site and am so indebted to its creators! Thank you!"

L-LYSINE

1 YEA [YEA] 04/02/2008: Juanita from Little Rock, AR writes: "Some of you that are suffering from boils may want to take L-lysine 500mg daily. I had a boil appear on my buttock back in October of 2003. I didn't know what it was, but I worked in a clinic at the time and told one of the nurses my symptoms. The first thing she asked me was "have you ever had herpes"? I was somewhat taken aback and told her no. I was told to soak in a epsom salt bath. The second time the boil appeared I aksed the doctor in my clinic about it. He too asked me about herpes, I gave him the same answer that I gave the nurse, a resounding No! He gave me Cipro (which did NOT work) and sent me on my way. Ok to make a long story longer, my cat has allergy/upper respiratory isssues. The vet gave him some antibiotics, but he told me my cat's condition is chronic and he would eventually become immune to the medicine. He told me to build up my cat's immune system by sprinkling L-lysine on his food. I read up on L-lysine and it does help your immune system and it helps with herpetic symptoms. I decided to try it the next time the boil appeared. I can always tell when it's coming because it tingles in the area just below where the boil appears. I started taking 500mg (one table daily in the morning on a empty stomach) at the first tingle. Low and behold, the boil never really appeared. I had a little itching in the area of the boil and the skin became a tiny bit raised, but after 2 days I had NO symptoms. This is amazing because this boil was so painful, it was hard for me to sit and it itched like crazy!!! I now take L-lysine daily to keep the boil way."

LAUNDRY SOAP AND SUGAR

The ingredients: yellow laundry bar soap and granulated sugar. She would apply the soap and sugar to a gauze pad, wrap it over the boil at night. The boil had excreted its contents by morning! It is not easy to find yellow bar soap. I don't know about the effectiveness of any other bar soap, but experimentation is certainly worth a try."

They carry it at a local grocery store here where I live, but I am sure you can probably get it online. Besides being good for boils, it will take just about every stain out of your clothes."

My daughter-in-law researched your site and was able to give me some suggestions to assist in my plight. She gave me several remedies. I chose to use the skin of an egg and lined it with a tumeric paste ((few drops of water & tumeric)(remedy). I applied it to the boil and covered it with a bandaid overnight. In the morning it had come to a head and I was able to extract the core. I then covered the area with an antibiotic ointment and a bandaid. It worked fine!!! Thanks so much for your information."

I need to tell you that when we would get the familiar (prickly) bite on our behinds that we knew was an infected follicle, and future boil. The one thing that stopped it at that early early point was scratching it open, and putting a cotton ball soaked in hydrogen pyroxide on it with tape overnight. If we didn't do it quickly though, we would have to take the turmeric to get it to stop growing. When the family started taking Vinegar baths and then rub A and D zinc oxide cream diaper Rash ointment on our behinds, and of course everyone wiped the toilet seat with alcohol after they used it... but anyway, this is what totally stopped the spread of them in the house. Six people. Turmeric was great and we attempted to keep an alkalinizing diet, but the vinegar and ointment is what stopped the spread in the house."

I can't say with any certainty which remedy is helping with which malady, but I can assure you I will be continuing with them all! About May 5th or so I got another boil- my whole family has been plagued with them since my boys went swimming in a creek about three years ago. I've had two or three, we all know they are very painful, but this one was absolutely out of this world! So I spent days soaking in Epsom salts, using hot packs etc. and it finally started to heal. The I got another one on May 26th. I have NEVER been fond of the medical establishment an example of why would be that 4 years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and a heart arrhythmia and was put on a ridiculous amount of medication now know it was a magnesium and vitamin D deficiency. So I've been going to nature more and more over the years. I'm sorry, anyway the boil. God Blessed me and lead me to this site on the 28th, on the 29th I started: #1 2tbl of ACV three times a day, #2 three capsules of turmeric three times a day #3 oil pulling-I started with hemp oil it does not become foamy or loose its color so I switched to sesame oil, #4 bathing with borax, rinsing with ACV, and moisturizing with coconut oil, and cleaning my ears and nose out daily with hydrogen peroxide #5 after washing and rinsing the area I apply iodine, when that dries I cover the sores with a band-aid using a paste of neosporine and turmeric powder and #6 morning and evening I drink a "tea" of 1 Tbsp each Blackstrap molasses, local honey, and coconut oil, a tsp of cinnamon, 1/4 tsp turmeric, and a scant 1/4 tsp cayenne. Those are the remedies, here are the effects. My hair and skin feel fantastic, its spring and I have had ZERO allergy or asthma symptoms ( I have suffered these my entire life) I am sleeping better, and my appetite has decreased - also I find I am less inclined to eat "junky" food. I don't own scales so I can't say what -if any -weight I have lost but I do feel better in my clothes. I hope to see progress in this area, due to the maladies and meds I have gained about 45lbs in the last five years. Because of all the cleansing processes I have undertaken I was not surprised when I started developing more boils, I currently have 13 on my upper thighs, abdomen and groin areas but NONE have continued to develop. They appear and I treat as described above. They develop a head, burst, and drain with only a little discomfort. Only two have gone completely, also the first one that I had gotten that I believed was healed? I started treating it like the new ones and it BEGAN TO DRAIN AGAIN! Now a couple of questions. Am I correct in assuming the outbreak is a natural side affect of detoxing, and will my energy level increase once I have gotten past the battle my body is currently waging against all these toxins? I would love to have the energy I had before. I have 5 teenagers, a 6 year old a dog three cats and I live in Iowa so of course I have water in my basement right now and I would soooo love to have the energy for a garden again. Any input would be greatly appreciated."

06/12/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Tammy: Most of the improvement may have been the epsom salt baths, tumeric and cayenne pepper, but it was the ACV that gave you the energy. The fibromyalgia and heart problems will be help mostly with magnesium and immune system is best supported by vitamin D3. The benefits of improved skin came from Epsom salt, hair comes from blackstrap mollasses. Immunity system would be further helped with some vitamin K, and as I have found regular vitamin K would also do fine. It's synergistic with the vitamin D3.

As to the reduction of boils, I have recently found carbicarb taking during the night would help with the sleep too, and kill off the boils by alkalization. Basically my updated remedy (I keep updating them!) is 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/4 teaspoon of sodium carbonate in 1 glass of water taken during the early evening hours. Boils should somewhat reduce with just taking this, if it was taken at least twice a day, for about two or three weeks. Tumeric and cayenne is synergistic. A magnesium supplements 250-500 mg a day in the form of magnesium glycinate, magnesium gluconate, magnesium citrate or magnesium chloride would do fine. To increase more energy, I think 2 tablespoon of ACV plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water in the morning will be responsible for most of the energy gains, hence they can be taken during morning, and afternoon hours too. A once a week zinc gluconate 50 mg may help reduce boils due to its antibiotic properties, although it works the best as an antiviral. Whenever energy level is increased usually there is increase in immunity. Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue can be very debilitating, but I have found the carbicarb remedy taken at least 2 times a day would help most of the problem, plus some ACV with baking soda, magnesium supplements, twice a week vitamin E 400 i.u. Once a week b complex such as B50 should help increase some energy levels too. Reduction is boils is possible with sufficient alkalization, magnesium. Borax remedy in my opinion seems to help chronic fatigue such as 1/8 teaspoon of borax in one liter of drinking water taken 4 days a week. It is always synergistic with the carbicarb remedy or the simpler baking soda remedy, in which 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water is taken twice a day. Fibromyalgia, whatever the problems, the major remedy is baking soda, borax, magnesium, vitamin D and b complex as mentioned. Chromium polynicotinate, such as 500-1000 mcg seems to be helpful in a couple of cases when there is excessive sweaty hands and other unexplained skin problems Boils especially pus maybe reduce rather quickly if sufficient baking soda was taken, but not just the baking soda, but also the carbicarb remedy also. Ted"

I use a combination and they have drastically reduced the condition. 1. Dial soap (ordinary yellow bar only) - each morning. 2. Tumeric tablets - 3/4 times a day w/ meals (I have noticed this really reduces the swelling). 3. use Tea tree oil at night and Bach's flower remedy cream over it before bedtime. [YEA] 05/29/2008: Jessy from St. Pete, Fla writes: "For more than 1/2 my life...Re: Post-surgery of the right armpit and beyond. In 2000 I had a cyst removed from my right pit. It was benign, the size of a grapefruit, & was an outpt procedure, Was sent home with drains & Oxy-contin. Detoxed self off that, & came through well with the drains meaning little scarring. 6 mos. later I was to return for the same procedure on the left arm, but refused as the right was beginning to swell again. Hence, SURGERY DOESN'T WORK FOR A SYSTEMIC CONDITION. What does?? Every thing mentioned in this blessed site so far! Especially the ACV-Epsom Salt, & Kosher/Sea Salt. Messy as hell, but very healing. Paper tape as well when draining, as it took me years to find a solution to ripped-off skin. Also, Curry powder which contains Turmeric, at night, but it can stain so be careful. Then, Campho-Phenique after bathing can catch new erupts early and stop them, especially in the groin area. Hot compresses of Golden Seal/Burdock/Slippery Elm herbal tea are also effective, but on thin skin they are indeed painful - had to take several shots of liquor before applying - BUT, 30 YEARS LATER THERE'S BEEN NO RECURRANCE TO THE AREA AT THE TIP OF MY COCCYX BONE. I tried the above and within three-four days it was pretty much gone. Thankfully, that was the last of any abscess/boils. If they come back I'll know what to do."

Internal health may take time to achieve, but Ted's lemon/ ACV and baking soda really works for so many problems--quick too. ' I have boils for the first time. I have been mixing several teaspoons of bentonite clay with water, placing a glob over the boil and spreading it thickly over the surrounding area, then covering it all with gauze or a clean cloth. Last, I wrap securely with plastic. Keeps the area moist and the clay off sheets and clothes. This has worked wonders in only a day. Boils are no longer sore or swollen and the whole area is healing and drying beautifully. Change the poultice every 8-12 hours. I will keep it up for a week to make sure the infection is gone. Also will continue internal alkalizing. You do not have to spend a fortune on bentonite clay. I got mine on ebay from a company that sells it for fish ponds. 03/15/2008: Liz from Scranton, Pennsylvania replies: "Hi Everyone, I want to add some information to the post about the calcium bentonite clay poultices that I wrote here a week ago. While reading further on the internet, I discovered someone who was mixing the clay with ten parts per million colloidal silver. After covering the boils he found a significant improvement overnight, and after four days of wearing the silver poultice the boil was gone and none have returned in three years. This individual explained the ionic exchange between the silver and the infection being much enhanced by the pulling effects of the clay. Because the boil on my hand was so serious and spreading so quickly and deeply, I decided to continue with the clay and silver poultice instead of clay and water. The difference was dramatic! Overnight the silver clay pulled the poison under the skin into a bubble-- like a second degree burn. I was at first alarmed because it looked worse than ever. Night after night I continued the silver clay poultice, wrapped in plastic and held in place with and elastic bandage. AFTER ONE WEEK, THE INFECTION IS GONE! I also slugged a couple ounces of this silver a day to check anything that might have gone internal, but I believe the poultice really did the trick. The use of short sheets like in the hospital need to be used and washed daily as do pillow slips, mattresses or any other surface like your couch, chair the boil could come in contact with needs to be sprayed daily with an antibacterial spray. Showers and tubs need to be sanitized after each use. Shower drains are the perfect place for the staph to multiple and become air born. I have been plagued with boils off and on for over a year. To keep the infection down I use ladies boxers and loose clothing. I also apply liquid antibacterial soap after my shower to a large area around the boil at first notice and let the soap dry on the skin, then apply a little antibacterial soap on a bandaid to cover it, this has kept the boils from enlarging, it speeds the healing process, just bathing in the soap does not help. When I was a child my mother used something called Green Soap on impetigo which is staph related and it was the only thing that cured it, but I have not seen it in pharmacies for years. Regular Antiboitics without steriods are virtually worthless."

By applying the juice of garlic or onion on the boil to draw it out. 2. By applying turmeric powder. 3. By applying a cumin seed paste. Diet: Well-balanced, vegetarian, yogurt, boiled food. Avoid: White wheat flour, all meat, tea & coffee, oily, spicy & sour food. A pinch of turmeric is taken with a glass of warm milk before bed to treat dry cough. TEA TREE OIL

It is absolutely brilliant and worked wonders for me. Cut a tomato in half and heat it (microwave will do). Place it over the boil and leave it there. Hold it in place with a gauze, I used a gauze and band-aids, and kept it there until it cooled. I then placed the other half of the tomato and repeated the operation. Although it got my underwear tomatoey, the boil opened up by itself and all the pus oozed out on its own. The results are remarkable. I didn't believe my mother (it was her remedy) and suffered in silence for ages. The boils also seemed recurrent, and I have been boil free for over a year. Some feat for the humble tomato!"

There is a salve i concocted just this evening that is very soothing for the boils...I mixed baby oil gel with desitin diaper rash cream as a base, then added turmeric powder (careful, too much can stain your skin yellow!) the powder from one of the red clover capsules, oil of oregano, and tea tree oil. 1 tsp turmeric powder 4 cups water 1 cup milk (soy or dairy) 2 tbsp almond oil liquid sweetener, to taste, optional (honey, agave, maple syrup)

I was shocked to see this bump and googled bumps and everything i read was genital warts (GW). It couldnt have been because i dont believe they'd pop out of nowhere on me. Anyway i put ACV and the next morning it had shrunk and it in the meantime i was trying to let myself come to terms with the fact that i had somehow got GW. Second day i decided to switch to garlic- put it on for 15 mins and it burned like crazy my whole leg was sore but after a while it stops burning. By the end of the day the skin on and around the 'gw' had come off and it was raw and extremely painful i had to take some tylenol with codeine. 3 day in the morning i felt a lime size lump and almost had a heart attack. I had to tell someone i had a 'gw' but didnt and just said i had a boil on my 'butt'. I was in pain the whole and waiting to see this thing shrink and fall off so the whole night til 3am i searched a bunch of staff on 'gw' including pictures and trying to compare and nothing looked like wat i had so i looked up boils and first thing in the morning bought some tumeric and tea tree oil, came home and put it on the boil- now i believed i had a boil and was kind of relieved. The tea tree oil soothed my whole body- no more pain- joy. 2 hours later i decided to take a peak after taking more tylenol. I rubbed it with a moist warm cotton ball, I started squeezing it and 'SQUIRT'! a bunch of blood mixed with pus. Hooray it was a boil. So applied more tumeric and tea tree oil- soothing and i'll let u know what happens in the next 5 days."

I had what I had thought was a pimple get severely infected so that it had spread down my inner thigh. About one week later, I had five very tender areas on my upper inner thigh. I ended up with 5 boils. The area from my groin down to my knee was swollen & red. I was deperate and started serching the internet for cures. I found Earth Clinic. We had tumeric on the spice rack. Started taking it immediately. I mixed one tsp in a small glass of warm water four times a day. AMAZING!!I also applied very warm water compresses every two hours for 15 minutes each. Within 8 hours, two of the most painful ones had come to a head. Within another 4 hours the other 3 had come to a head. After two weeks, they were healed. I had a few hard bumps left and came back to Earth Clinic. Discovered Vitamin E for the hard bumps. I now have tumeric capsules (450mg per capsule)! I have found that thanks to onset of menopause, the boils will continue for a while. I now take one capsule of tumeric/two capsules of vitamin E in the morning & one capsule of tumeric at night before bed. The hard leftover bumps fade out faster. I made the mistake of skipping the tumeric/vitamin E for two days and had a very nasty boil flair up! Tea Tree oil mixed with tumeric and put on the boil helps to soothe and bring to a head. Make the tea tree oil & tumeric into a thick paste (1/4 tsp of tumeric & a few drops of tea tree oil)and spread on a bandage, apply the bandage to the boil, change every four to six hours. After the boil opened with a little help from a sharp needle dipped in alcohol, I made a paste of neosporin and tumeric, spread on a bandage, and applied the bandage over the boil. TURPENTINE

It's a old time remedy for a lot of things. They used to sell small bottles of what was called Rectified Turpentine in drug stores but it's very difficult to find these days. Art supply stores sell it for a high price. Common painters Turpentine works great. At the start of one and several times diring the day dab some Turpenting on the spot. You will be suprised most of the time that it will stop development at that point. I once told a Dermatologist about it and he said that it was highly allergenic. And I told him that it probably worked better than anything he could prescribe and he agreed!"

EC: Thank you, Joe! You can still find turpentine in pharmacies and grocery stores throughout the in the USA. It's usually found right next to small bottles of iodine. Just saw a bottle of it at Publix (grocery store) 2 days ago.

Thanks to this site,' Turmeric has helped alleviate my boil problems in the past. However after a recurrence last month, I was reminded that sugar does inhibit the immune system. // May 31, 2007 at 1:06 pm I have had 7 or 8 MRSA outbreaks since my daughter was born and she is 7 months old. My 23 month old has had it twice and my husband has had it 3 or 4 times. My sons and mine are in the groin area and my husband is under his arm. We all got on antibiotics (they were on Bactrim and I was on Cephlex, I’m allergic to Sulfa). We also did the bactroban ointment in the nose. We also have been disinfecting the whole entire house by spraying Lysol on door handles and light switches and changing our sheets regularly. So far my son and my husband have not had an outbreak for 2 months, but I am still continuing to get them. I am at wits end on trying to clean out my system to get rid of this nasty unforgiving bug. My boyfriend has been going to the doc for about a year. First his infection was strep, then staph, but now doc claiming its not MRSA. Well wow, whaddayaknow, I started having boils under armits after shaving with his razor and LOW and BEHOLD, I been diagnosed with MRSA. What is going on??? Can anyone help us??? Were scared to death. I personally think his doctor is an idiot. We been following his directions for almost a year. NOW WHAT? Was this comment useful to you ?

// Jul 31, 2007 at 8:21 am I had Necrotizing fasciitis (the flesh eating variety) I have been clear of MRSA now about 2 years, I would have been DEAD if not for this group, and their insistence that I see an infectious disease specialist. I had to educate myself, and my doctors. The first hurdle is to get them to test for MRSA the next is to get the correct meds, realize they may not be up on the latest info. My second Dr. put on the correct regimen of drugs, told me to wash with Hibiclens, but only under the arm pits, and the groin. Well folks this is what I did and it worked for me: I washed my entire body in Hibiclens, (being very careful as it can blind you and ruin your liver if ingested) including my hair! that’s right my hair! (I live in Florida and I had been wearing a pony tail every day to work that stayed a bit damp) I washed everything I came in contact with, in hot water with bleach whenever possible and I did not let ANYTHING touch my body more than once with being laundered, ( like sheets in bed my robe, etc.) I laundered every fabric in my home. I scrubbed down my leather sectional, and refurbished the leather, then placed throws on top. (so that they could be laundered) I mentioned to my Dr. when he was amazed that I was clear of this infect (after only ONE round of the correct antibiotics) He thought I had gone a bit over board, said MRSA doesn’t stay viable on surfaces, only on the body! Well I said to him “it can mutate, why take a chance?” I also informed him that as women we will ALWAYS wear a fresh pair of panties but that it is common to wear a bra more than once, and that could be a source of reintroducing the colony onto the body. I suggested that he advise his patience to follow my regime, as it had worked for me. Now I see in this months Readers Digest an article and low and behold! the advice is given to launder EVERYTHING. I may have going over board but at the time I was having these issues my elder parents were coming to stay with me and my daughter was pregnant, I did not want to co-infect any one! I didn’t. They are all healthy, and I am a proud Grandma. So keep the faith! Educate yourself, don’t take for granted that your physician knows everything (they can’t) and some are just BAD. I still do wash with Hibiclens once a month or so. Was this comment useful to you ?

We have not had re-occuring infections, but seem to have “aged” quickly, and have very little tolerance for any type of infections. My husband is diabetic, I worry about his future health with MRSA. Dia (Check me out!) // Sep 9, 2007 at 11:11 am I was diagnosed with MRSA in the end of May after I had these mysterious bumps that were very paianful since January. I was put on Doxycycline, Rifvampin, Ointment for my nose, and a Anti-Microbial wash. Those who have taken the two oral medications know, as I know, that they rip your stomache apart REALLY BAD. Anywayz, I took it after I was diagnosed and the bumps went away…for about 4 weeks, then I had to take the medicine again, then the bumps went away…for 4 weeks and came back. Notice the pattern? I was diagnosed at the end of May, it is now early Sept and I have had my 4th outbreak in roughly 4 months. The bumps get very painful and the medicine make me so sick. My doctor didn’t give me too much information on the disease and has now decided to stop filling my prescription because I haven’t been able to see her (I live 400 miles away and I have no health insurance). I am not sure how I contracted MRSA…the only thing I can think of is that I shared an apartment at school with 3 not-so-clean people. Even though I washed my hands before doing anything, who knows what they could have spread around. Mostly, I am looking for some guidance, maybe someone to talk to who can give me a little more information. I feel so left-out as far as information goes. I read up online and asked my doctor a lot of questions (she was not much help), but I feel I need to know more. I have been able to live with 4 people and keep them all MRSA free because I am very careful. What else should I know? Was this comment useful to you ?

My general practioner gave me Cephelex (spelling?) and told me to go to the ER if the infection didn’t clear in a few days. Well it didn’t, and I ended up in the hospital five days later. The infection hurt so badly, but the hospital would not admit me even though I told them I needed IV antibiotics per my doctor’s direction. Anyway, they finally admitted me and a surgeon drained the abcess. The surgeon then gave me Lavequin, followed by Amoxicillin, then Bactrim. None of these worked. I got another infection a week after the first surgery, but waited almost two weeks thinking the meds were going to take care of the infection. I was readmitted to the hospital on 9/20/07 and was on several different kinds of antibiotics that really made me dizzy and sick to the stomach. I was on Vancomycin and something called Roxyfloxicin (the nurse called is Roxy Floxy as a nick name), and a third antibiotic. The infection finally got better, but I personally believe it was God who healed me and not the antiobiotics. I was released from the hospital on 10/2/07, and have been on Zyvox, which has horrible, horrible side effects. It makes me dizzy, nauseaous, forgetful, incoherent, and just “sick”. I’m can’t wait to be finished with this dose. I was wondering though, is it possible to give spread MRSA to my family members? From what I’ve read so far, it’s seems like I can. I’m concerned for my children, especially my 17 month old. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Was this comment useful to you ?

She had been complaining that she had the flu all of the time and she started to break out in sores in her mouth, vagina, and face. She had had staph infection as a kid and she said her symptoms seemed to be the same. I was taking her to specialist 3-4 times a week, but they didn’t know what was wrong, then lo and behold I started to get symptoms , so I was going to the doctor. He told me it was depression and had me take antidepressents. I only got worse, and I had extremely painful joints and muscles, boils on my face, and a very difficult time breathing, lethargy, and depression from my symptoms and also watching my grandma’s health go down the tube. I wrote the symptoms down, and gave them to my doctor, which of course he said all my symptoms were caused by depression. About two weeks later granny called 911 for “the flu like symptoms”, went to the hospital and died. I was admitted the next day and sent home with xanex. I ended up having to go to a doctor 50 miles away, ands thats when I was diagnosed with staph and prescribed two sets of antibiotics which made me very ill. It’s been 4 months since this happened and I am concerned about the long term effects. I woke up Thursday morning with a zit close to my spine in between my shoulder blades. When I noticed the wound becoming infected I started to think that it was a spider bite (due to the pain). Friday my infection was a little bigger with a white and yellow head, the tissue hard underneath, and very red skin all the way around it. I went to a Convenient Care center (since my doctor was unable to see me) and the doctor tried to pop the infection, but was unsuccessful. So she decided to just prescribe me antibiotics. I told her that if she wanted to cut into it to get a culture she could. She said that I should be just fine with the antibiotics. I have now been on the antibiotics for three days and I’m in a lot of pain; the wound doesn’t seem to be healing at all. I drained it today and a lot of bright yellow discharge came out. I plan on going to the doctor asap tomorrow because from all of my research I do believe it is MRSA. I’m very scared about the treatment, especially since it is so close to my spine. Can anyone tell me what is the usual treatment in this matter? Also, is this something I will have to live with the rest of my life? Since I get breakouts so often this scares me. But I came up with a pretty good solution for getting rid of the boil, (now dont forget I’ve had3 out breaks) but I ended my 3RD out break fast, I bought 91% alcohol, new band-aids and a new tube of neosporine . And got to work, 2 times a day I would remove old band-aid and wash my hands, cleaned it with the alcohol,and then opened a new band-aid , put neosporine on the bandaid(also with the help of bactrim witch I got 4 days after the fact) the boil is gone as well as the other pimple looking ones. Now ive done this for 6 days before I saw a doctor, because I wanted to see if I could get rid of the boils with out bactrim and it was working, I just got the bactirm to be on the safe side,and my doctor said that he didn’t think I needed it what I was doing was good and to keep it up. bug bite that I scratched over a year ago. When the one soar turned into other ones on my leg I asked my general doctor what they were and he said I had some infection of the hair folicles on my leg. He told me to use an antibiotic cream and that was that. But the cream didn’t work and after a few more visits he referred me to a dermetologist. I saw the dermetologist in June of this year. He took a culture and sent me home with doxycycline because he mentioned it might be a staph infection, but never went into any detail about how serious this could be. I took several rounds of the antibiotic and it would clear it up, but then the soars would start to return again after a few weeks. Due to reasons out of my control I was not able to return to the doctor until last week. He informs me that I have MRSA and know I am to use Phisonhex and Benzaclin gel on my legs to try to clear it up. My concerns are that I have had this a long time. How concerned should I be about passing it onto others (my daughter) and how would I know if it has gone internally to other places in my body? The dermotologist did test my nasal passages for MRSA and I am to bring my daughter in next week to be tested. My daughter has been feeling ill for a long time. Nothing drastic, just like achy, tired and low grade fever. I’m really worried!!! Both my parents just died recently within 9 months of each other one from COPD the other from renal failure and I don’t think we can handle another terrible thing happening right now. I also am handicapped and the home health aids won’t come in and help me as long as I have this. I have alot of allergies to antibiotics and I just need some direction on which way to go. I am a healthy 21 year old female with MRSA. My partner aquired MRSA from the juvenile detention center in 2004. Her first boil was the size of a softball and you could stick two fingers in it. The detention center did nothing. She was let out a day later and went to the hospital. The hospital did nothing to test it. At this point her outbreaks were few and far between. My outbreaks started in 2005. There was absolutly no information about it. I tried hospitals, infectious disease specialists, and walk in clinics. It was first herpes, then at my parents request tested for MRSA. At this point we have both quit taking meds and drain and bandage the abrasion. The boil are coming more and more frequent. Everytime I menstrate I get an outbreak, then it causes my partner to outbreak, although we are generally healthy people. I was never tested for it until about a week ago. I had to beg for the test and a screening of my liver. I have taken so many doses of batrium and Cepro that I could scream. I am a server and in college and I cannot get rid of this. I am in contant pain for about 15 days out of every month. I am so scared and angry over this they put me on an antidepressent. Im lucky although that I have not infected anybody else. It seemed like for two years that we had some rare disorder. My partner got fired form her job in 2005, when someone found out about the disease. Now she has no health insurance, and we live in silence. I give the maker of this website props, because this is the first time in years I can be heard. I just wonder what I should do, because doctors in my area of south florida are too scared to prescribe any sort of hard core antibiotics. Should me and my partner get put on the antibiotics at the same time? Should I wait until there is a better form of the antibiotic so my form does not become resistant. Where can my uninsured parner go, beacause the health department is filled with a bunch of wacks. I’ve been there too many times. My outbreaks are generally on my inner thighs, but I have outbroke on my stomach, face, anus, and armpit area. The size of my infections under the skin are the size of quarter, about a half an inch deep. The infections coming more often even thought I use the nose stuff to prevent spread, but what else should I do. I know that if I continue to do nothing I could die from this but I don’t know what to do. If there is anybody in my situation, please contact me. I do not know what to do anymore. I myself lived with an open would in my abdomen for 10 months due to an infection contracted while having hernia repair surgery. I was on both of those drugs for the first 3 months before they did a culture and diagnosed it as MRSA. I then went to a infectious disease DR. who put me on rifampin and septra ds. While those did not work for me, they are very effective for those patients with MRSA skin infections. If you have insurance you need to go to an ID Dr. and have them do a culture. At best you could at least get on the right treatment, then focus on helping your partner. I personally had to have 4 inches of my abdomen removed, and stay on and IV antibiotic called Cubicin for 4 weeks, I have now been MRSA free since Nov. 4th for the first time in a year . One thing you can both do when you have an outbreak is wash the areas with Hibiclens soap, that is what my ID Dr. had me start immediatly when I had the open wound. It has been three years and while loading my wheelchair in my van I got cut. I thought it was just a simple cut and did not worry much about it. Then it got more infectd and I was incouraged to go and see the doctor. He took a culture and seaid I have mersa. He was unable to get the infection out and sent me to a sergon that opperated on my amputation. He cleaned the infection and put some kind of a wrp around my foot to the top of my kee. It is come kind of a soft cast with medication. Has anyone heard of this. To say the lest. I am worried. What could or are the symptoms from here. I was also put on an antibiodic calledClindamycin. Will this antibiodic help?

My doctor did not perscribe anything! Finally! Just so everybody knows, the antibiotics are worse than the boils. He put me on a strict no sugar diet. Because bacteria live in sweat and sweets cause us to sweat, this seems like a very positive idea. He suggested that if I do get a boil put a mixture of an antibiotic ointment and wash, for me its Altabax and phisonex. My partner has a more serious infections and her did the same for her. NO ANTIBIOTICS! One day there will be a cure for this disease and if we keep using the prescriptions we we become resistant to them. Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m sure most of you heard of VRSA coming up in the population. Just hold on a deal with the skin infections. One day there will be a cure. surgeries to scrape and clean out the infection, and also have been on drain tubes for two weeks. The drains seemed pretty clean, and not very much drainage. Two days ago my iv and tubes were taken out. I have three wounds that are healing from the surgeries. One spot from the drain site leaks a little still. My doctor seems to think we got it. I am curently on doxycillin(sp?)which makes me nautious. I also have vicodin for pain which also makes me sick. I have been on bed rest for a month, and I just want to know if this ever goes away? My breast is tender, not swollen or irritated, but I am terrified of it flaring up again. I am also afraid to touch my fiance at all in fear of tranfering this mrsa. We havent had sex or even slept in the same room since I have contracted this. I cant work or go to school and I am getting very depressed. Does anyone know if this thing can be beat? // Jan 17, 2008 at 4:13 pm I contracted MRSA in the Spring of 2007. I had the infection on my left shin. It was an excruciating experience. What was more painful though was discovering that my son (then 6 year old) had been having recurring MRSA infections prior to my episode but I had no clue. Luckily his have never gotten like mine did. His have only gone so far as to turn into boils under his skin. His pediatrician and my husband and I wrote them off as bug bites (since he’s had a history of allergy to various bug bites). So it wasn’t until I got my MRSA infection that I realized my son’s “bug bites” were actually MRSA infections. He has gotten them so many times and in so many different places on his legs that I’m just about running out of fingers and toes to count them on. I’m also almost positive that my other son had gotten a MRSA infection on his rear-end when he was just one-year old (he’s now 2). His was also written off as a “bug bite.” As I’m typing this blog, I’m fighting another MRSA infection on my rear-end. My husband and other son (I have three sons) have fortunately not had an infection yet; though it would not be surprising if they were carriers for it. My 7-year-old had been getting infections for almost a year before we discovered that they were MRSA. In that time the bacteria could have been spread all over our place. We’ve done some heavy cleaning and we continue to keep things clean on a regular basis, as much as possible, but my son and I keep getting infected. Like so many of you I am frustrated with dealing with MRSA recurrence. I’m ready to throw everything away and move to another place and then have my whole family go through testing to make sure we’re no longer carriers for this thing. That’s not practical though and in no way possible for us at this time. I am hopeful and I do believe that one day we’ll be able to live without any further infections and without the fear that anyone of those infections could get out of hand. Let’s all remember to have trust that we can create our own realities. Know that our bodies are capable of staying healthy and combatting any disease that ails us. Let’s remember to maintain healthy diets (lots of fruits and vegetables), exercise, and minimize stress. Don’t give the bacteria a good environment to live in. Good luck to you all. and my knee was as big as a grapefruit. i proceeded to think it was just a spider bite so i went to urgent care, they told me is was a spider bite and gave me antibiotics. over night i could not even take it i was up crying in pain and it began to spread. that morning i went and saw my family doctor through the cleveland clinic and she called the hospital and had me sent over there right away!! they then admitted me and i was put on VANCO IV ( considering im allergic to sulfa) . theye then surgically drained my painful infection and after 4 days on the meds they discharged me. it is now only one month later (jan. 08) and i have the infection again on my chest, my stomach, and my left leg! i have been in and out of the ER the past 3 days and i am in hell!!! i am absolutley miserable with this..i feel like i cant even live my normal life right now, i am 19 years old and im missing so much school and work. day stay in the hospital. In mid january I got the same boil in the same place and was had to be cut alot deeper than the last time. It was MRSA again. After about 3 weeks I was healed and back at work. three days ago another boil sprouted. I have not gone back to the Doctor yet. But I am on my way probably tomorrow. Its not so much the MRSA is affecting my life cause I was only sick that one time. Its the pain from the boil that is killing me. I do not know how to stop the boils. // Feb 27, 2008 at 2:18 pm Just some encouragement for everyone on this website. I’ve been MRSA free for about two months now. But it’s been a real ordeal. I’ve posted my story, but wanted to give some advice on treating and maintaining an outbreak free life. There are two parts to the treatment: Killing the bacteria and getting rid of the infection. Getting rid of the infection: If you currently have an open infection, get some gauge bandages, tape, Q-tips, Hibiclens, and get a prescription for Mupirocin ointment from your doctor. Try to squeeze out as much of the pus as possible on your infection. If you can’t b/c the infection is too deep and painful, you will have to get it surgically drained. After squeezing as much pus out as possible, wash daily with the Hibiclens. (Don’t forget to wash your hands thoroughly with soap after touching the area) Then apply a small amount of the Mupirocin to the infection, cover it with a bandage. Keep doing this until the infection clears up. Be sure to wash your towels and personal items (clothes, underwear, towels, etc) in hot water, and at least after one use. Towels, I washed about 2-3 times per week. Killing the bacteria: Along with the above, if the bacteria is still living in the infectious site, you will need to take antiobiotics such as Bactrim, Levaquin, Vancomycin or others to kill the bacteria. Remember to ask your doctor to get a culture of the site for testing to see which antibiotics will kill the bacteria. Based on the test, your doctor will prescribe an antibiotic that will work for you. Hope this helps someone get better. It took me almost six months of trial and error, but this is what’s worked for me. Oh, and if you’re diabetic, you MUST maintain a good sugar level - 130 or below. // Mar 7, 2008 at 7:44 pm I had gotten my first boil in 07/07. I kept getting them and in October I had one so bad I had to see doc who dx with msra. I went on the meds and was fine but again I got several more. In December I saw the doc again who advised me to use the Soap Hibiclens. I saw others in this mentioned it and it works. Its 10.00 and the bottle is the size of hydrogen proxide. In fact that is were you find it. The same section. I washed with that at the same time I took my antibiotics. Gone its been three months and nothing. I did wash everything with bleach and color safe bleech scowering my bathroom top to bottom. You know getting reoccuring boils was the worst experience of my life but I am free now. Use the Hibiclens while on your meds and I pray it works as good for you. I admit my doc told me to use it the first time but I did not listen. It was well worth it and I as well wash once a month with it . Was this comment useful to you ?

I have had way over 400 abcesses all over my body, countless hospital visits, numerous I&D’s, every oral antibiotic and Vanco three times. No insurance, depleted savings, overdrawn checking, depression,anxiety,germ-a-phobia, five bulging disks and two herniated disks in neck and back. Can’t have surgery because of MRSA. Still having outbreaks. Can’t see the doctor without insurance or money. Infectious Disease Doctor took me off Vanco because I couldn’t pay for office visit. I guess they figure I will eventually die and go away. Still fighting though. Wash your skin with a mixture of iodine and dial soap. let it stay on for ten minutes before you rinse. It must be wild, organic oil of oregano. take it orally and/or dress the wound. It’s an essential oil that the BIBLE refers to as HYSSOP. Tell your Dr. to back off the antibiotics they only make the MRSA stronger over tiome in your body. Doctors don’t know about holistic health, because it is their competition and the doctors want money! It’s all about money just like everything else. Beware the New World Order! John Hopkins, Cornell, and the U of Chicago have been run by the Skull and Bones secret society since day 1. Look to god and our earth for the cure. “PUT YOUR FAITH IN NO MAN”. Also try bathing with tea tree oil and shampoo. Look in a health food store. If you’ve never been to one, go now, your life may depend on it. AND watch what you eat! // Jun 20, 2008 at 9:29 pm Im 18 years old i was told by my doctor after they took a sample from the inftected lump in my right arm. I really dont remember anything biting me but, its possabel b/c i know it wasnt a cut! there was puss, but mostly it hurt b.c of the fact there was so much Blood inside of the lump. I got Mrsa from my sister. and besides the lump that was on my arm which looks amazingly better by the way i got it done a little over a week ago. besides that and the medication that i am taking and some kinda ointment that there having me put up my nose for some odd reason, most likely if from spreading to others, but everyone has it on there skin its more of the fact if it effects them or not. I feel prefectly normal. Med makes me a little tired you know the pain med, but i cut back a lot and only take it when im really working my arm.

i get a little one everyonce and a while. i wonder if a women preg could pass it to her child if some of the articles say it could get into the blood? HUH. Im pretty sure if i did get it i got it throw my older sister, She is a dental hygentist. She had one on her rib that hurt really bad but it is a lot smaller. she had to get it taken care of the day of my graduation. So she missed me singing. Sometimes i read some of theses things on here and also other place, and people over stress about something that we can keep in for a little while, we all know the world is come to an end soon and so be it. we can stop it, So enjoy it!
