Project Life Drop
About Us Who we are V ISION At the Life Drop , we believe that the key to sufficient safe blood is via the empowerment of donors in promoting regular voluntary non-remunerated blood donation. In doing so, we envision a day in which any Indian in need will have quick access to the safest blood possible whenever and wherever it is needed.
MISSION To achieve this goal, we focus on two key areas where we believe we can have the greatest impact in: Awareness and Empowerment. Awareness: By increasing the level of awareness about the lack in quantity and quality of blood in Pune, we hope to educate and engage donors and potential donors on their impact in creating a community of safe blood donors. Empowerment: By equipping donors and potential donors with the necessary knowledge and tools, we put the focus on them and their ability to mobilize the people around them to ensure the sustainability of this project.
WHAT WE DO The Project Life Drop is a plug-and-play, low cost, high impact project focused on active citizenship through blood donation. We target donors from Organisations and Youth Groups to contribute to the society through a small yet essential act of active citizenship and donating blood. Our perspective on active citizenship revolves mutual relationships, between the citizens and the society. Being an active citizen means that you are playing an active role in the community to create impactful changes that benefit the community itself. The Triple Effect has 3 main dimensions that work towards sustainability:
How It All Works
Our Program We offer our services to 3 types of organizations. Choose the one that describes you better:
1. Corporations & Factories 2.Universities & Youth Groups 3.C ommunities & Other Organizations (NGOs)
OUR PROGRAM F OR CORP ORAT IONS One of the focuses of the Project Life Drop is “Corporate Engagement” because the corporate sector is one of the largest segments of our society and we can’t create a Local effect without their participation! Through corporate engagement, we aspire to empower people inside corporations to give back through a small and essential act of active citizenship and donating blood. As a part of corporate engagement, we partner with companies and organizations, and organize blood drives at their premises to make it easier for their employees. We also create more awareness and education on the ‘lack of safe blood supply’ issue in Pune, as well as general health and healthy living by running sessions for staff. We do this through our work with “Project Life Drop Interns” who are volunteers from different countries ,who have the passion for doing something good in the society, and also have come to Pune for a social Internship to motivate others to become engaged in the cause. We provide these Interns with the necessary training and tools to help them spread the awareness, and to be prepared for any question that any person might have about the whole process.
Levels of Corporate Engagements At the Project Life Drop we have 3 types of partnership levels: 1 – Engage Partners: Companies that are interested to run the Annual Cycle 2 – Educate Partners: Companies that would like to take a step further. In addition to running the blood drives and health awareness sessions, they are involved in our universities engagements. Work with universities is aimed at educating youth about the blood donation issue, general health and healthy living, as well as involving students in carry out different activities and initiatives. 3 – Empower Partners: Companies who realize the importance of our project, will engage the project Life Drop as one of their main Corporate Social Responsibility Projects. They support the sustainability and visibility of the Project Life Drop by being part of our communication strategy and positioning their company as one of the pioneers in supporting the blood issue in Pune.
For Universities & Youth Groups The project Life Drop is aimed at many different target groups. One of those target groups is “university students”. To implement the Project with university students, we had to engage them and bring out the best in them by giving them ownership of the project. University students are the target group with most passion and enthusiasm, and they still believe that the impossible does not exist! This is mainly because they haven’t let their life demands bring them down and their creativity has no limits! So the Life Drop team thought of creating a competition between the universities on running a successful blood donation campaign. The competition had various criteria that the campaign was going to be evaluated upon for example; number of campaigns, number of blood bags, awareness about quality of blood, communication, and health awareness. The International Intern team with AIESEC member will work with the College Cells and College Club and make sure the college students are made aware about the Blood Donation.
