Coal Processing Solutions
Weir Minerals -
“The results we wanted were pretty significant. We’re talking 5 million feed tonnes out of the pump - or about 12 months’ worth of use. As it turns out, a Warman 350 TU-MCU slurry pump reached 9.8 million feed tonnes.” Steven Jackson, Manager of the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant at Sedgman’s Coppabella Mine on trialling the Warman® MCU® pump.
A solution every step of the way Wherever coal is processed you will find quality slurry pumps, hydrocyclones, centrifuges, valves, hoses, screens and screen media at the heart of the process.
Our engineering resources work closely with our area sales managers, territory managers and local service teams - creating an unrivalled network to support our customers’ specific needs. Weir Minerals Services™

Our focus is always creating products that are low maintenance, reliable and provide predictable service - allowing you to maximise production and minimise costly down time. Technology Leadership: Design flexibility and customisation Weir Minerals is an original equipment manufacturer in the truest form - we design and produce the end-product, but we also develop all the critical parts for the products, and we manufacture the materials that the parts are made from. Weir Minerals concentrates its research and development in over 20 Design Centres of Origin around the globe, and invests heavily in material advancements to produce state-of-theart wear resistant materials for longer life cycles in harsh environments.
With service centres located centrally to the coalfields of Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Indonesia we are perfectly situated to provide excellent service and maintenance on all products supplied by Weir Minerals. We know unplanned breakdowns can be the single greatest cost to your operation. Reliability in the supply of spare parts, availability of maintenance personnel and accurate change out predictions are important factors in helping to avoid unplanned down time. We are committed to providing resources, knowledge, and services to initiate long term, measurable total ownership cost reduction in your operation.
For Coal & Allied, upgrading their existing slurry valves at their Mount Thorley Warkworth operation to Weir Minerals’ Isogate® valves has resulted in increased productivity and efficiency. With many months of smooth operation, the Isogate® valves have more than proved themselves in the specialised tailings area. Gary Cooke, Coal & Allied’s Mount Thorley Warkworth projects team superintendent elaborates:
“We wanted something that would be easy to operate, easy to maintain and have very good reliability, and that’s what we have with these valves. These are huge pluses for productivity.”
Expertise where it counts.
