2016 Community Funding Programs Gosford City Council’s Community Funding Programs provide funding to eligible individuals and community organisations to support, partner and assist the provision of important services.

Gosford City Council’s funding programs are a key way in which Council recognises and supports the contribution of local community organisations. Funding enables community groups to conduct activities, build capacity within the community, develop and maintain sustainable community infrastructure and strong partnerships. Funding aims to improve the quality of life and well-being of people who live, study, visit and work in Gosford.

Additional information and guidelines, for all funding programs, are available at council’s website, gosford.nsw.gov.au Applicants should lodge an electronic application form, also available from council’s website. Assistance is available to any group or individual, to ensure fair access and support with the online application system. Any applications received after the advertised closing date will not be considered for funding.

Community Development Grants Gosford City Council’s Community Development Grants provide funding to eligible community organisations to support, assist and partner with them in building communities, activating places and addressing aims outlined in council’s Community Strategic Plan.

Council’s Community Development Grants enhance the well-being of all residents in the Gosford Local Government Area, now and into the future. Funded projects will build capacity within the community, activate places and improve the quality of life and well-being of people who live, study, visit and work in Gosford City. Sponsorship Gosford City Council offers sponsorship opportunities, allowing an applicant’s event or activity to have access to, and alignment with, Gosford City Council’s branding, products and services.

This program enhances resources available to organisations for events and initiatives which align with Gosford City Council priorities. Well-managed sponsorship investments provide social, environmental, economic and tourism advantages for the Gosford Local Government Area. Heritage Grants Gosford City Council’s Heritage Grants provide funding to individuals and groups for the purpose of honouring and celebrating local history and its people.

Heritage Grants encourage the retention, conservation and promotion of the material and social heritage within the Gosford Local Government Area. This program aims to: > Address objectives outlined in the Gosford 2025 Community Strategic Plan > Increase community interest and appreciation for the conservation of local heritage items > Conserve, restore, preserve or enable the continued use of Gosford’s heritage places > Provide benefit to Gosford’s cultural heritage and tourism opportunities Program guidelines, including eligibility requirements, assessment and criteria, can be found at gosford.nsw.gov.au

Placemaking Small Grants Do you have a placemaking idea for your neighbourhood? Gather like-minded people together and apply for a Placemaking Small Grant.

Gosford City Council’s Placemaking Small Grants program enables friends or neighbours to develop local community projects, to strengthen connections between people and the places they share. Placemaking Small Grants strive to achieve the following objectives: > Transform public spaces into vibrant places where communities gather. > Empower community members to breathe life into streets and neighbourhoods making them attractive, inviting and safe. > Experiment with innovative ideas which generate community engagement. > Build the capacity of community members to participate in their local communities. Aboriginal Grants Gosford City Council’s Aboriginal Grants provide support to the Aboriginal community through the funding of projects and activities which align with Gosford 2025 Community Strategic Plan.

Gosford Sister City Grants Gosford City Council’s Sister City Grants provide financial support to promote understanding and foster relationships between Gosford organisations and Gosford City’s Sister Cities, through community, cultural, sporting, economic, educational and humanitarian activities.

Gosford City’s sister cities are Edogawa in Japan and Nitra in Slovakia. Sister City Grants provide funds to community organisations to increase activities which: > Facilitate cultural understanding between people from Sister City backgrounds > Bring together like-minded interest groups from each city > Provide a forum for Sister-City experiences to be shared for the benefit of Gosford’s community > Create and strengthen partnerships between Gosford and its Sister Cities > Provide benefits which continue beyond the initial activity.

Non Council-Owned Community Facility Support The Non CouncilOwned Community Facility Support Program, provides assistance to non-profit community organisations that manage a community facility.

Management committees of non council-owned facilities can apply for a grant towards facility maintenance, repair or asset improvement. Such facilities may include community halls or other public buildings with a social welfare or community development focus. Council-Owned Community Facility Support Council-Owned Community Facility Support Grants provide assistance to non-profit community organisations that manage a council community facility.

Gosford City Council’s Community Facility Support Grants provide improved access to community facilities by assisting with costs towards maintenance, repair or improvement of Council-owned community buildings in the Gosford Local Government Area. Community Facility Support Grants provide funds to Management Committees of Council-owned community buildings in order to: > Maintain buildings for long-term, continued use > Undertake internal and external structural repairs or modifications > Ensure community facilities are highly utilised and accessible Program guidelines, including eligibility requirements, assessment and criteria, can be found at gosford.nsw.gov.au

Recreation Assistance Program The Recreation Assistance Program provides assistance to clubs offering sport, recreation and leisure opportunities in the Gosford Local Government Area.

The Recreation Assistance Grants Program provides funds to sporting and recreational organisations to maintain, conserve and improve existing assets within Gosford City. Developing and Recognising Talent Program The Developing and Recognising Talent (DART) program supports Gosford City’s residents who represent Gosford City in sporting and cultural pursuits.

DART sponsorship provides assistance to Gosford residents who have been selected by a national, state or regional body to participate in a recognised sporting or cultural event. Sponsorship provides funding for individuals or groups towards costs associated with participating in such significant sporting and cultural events. The program also recognises individuals and groups that achieve excellence in their discipline and represent the region. Program guidelines, including eligibility requirements, assessment and criteria, can be found at gosford.nsw.gov.au Dates Applications can be accessed throughout the year. However funds are limited and once exhausted, no further applications will be considered.
