AT THE LAST COUNCIL MEETING

Council has voted to initiate the Gateway planning process to zone land within the Kincumber Sewage Treatment Plant site to permit a new Resource Recovery Facility. The Kincumber site was chosen as an alternative to Springfield Quarry and will process and recycle green waste as well as materials, such as road base and concrete, from council’s construction and maintenance operations. This recycling will significantly reduce the waste at the Woy Woy landfill site and will lessen the amount of new construction materials required for council’s operations.

Council has accepted the offer of Central Global Holdings Pty Ltd (CGH) to operate a cafe / fast food outlet adjacent to the boat ramp car park in Gosford. The outlet will assist in the revitalisation of the Gosford Waterfront and deliver economic and social benefits to the area. CGH have advised that the business will be operating within four to six weeks of all consents and development approvals being obtained.
