Gosford Times 1st November 1917 Men Who Have Fallen Private J W Henry, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J Henry, of Cut Rock Road, Ourimbah, died of wounds in France on October 14. deceased was 33 years of age, and enlisted in Western Australia in the 48th Battalion. Mr and Mrs Henry's second son, Private Jack Henry, was killed in action "Somewhere in France" in May 1917. A third son, Arthur (Dick) is also in the trenches on the Western Front. The above sad news was conveyed to the parents by Rev. A P Hanington, Rector of Wyong.
Gosford Times 8th November 1917 ROLL OF HONOR HENRY- In loving remembrance of our dear son, Private J W Henry, who died from wounds received in France on the 14th October, 1917. born at Kangaroo Valley in 1885. aged 32 years. Inserted by his sorrowing mother and father, brothers and sisters Greater love hath no man that that He lay down his life for a friend.
Gosford Times 13th June 1918 Mr John Henry has been notified that his third son is missing. His other two sons were killed in action some months ago. We all deeply sympathise with Mr and Mrs Henry and family in their sorrow.
