Gosford Times 18th January 1917 Private McManus, of Wyong, died at Durban while on the way to the front.

Gosford Times 25th January 1917 Mr J McManus, of Wyong, has received word that his son Private Ernest McManus, died from pneumonia on his way to England. Deceased was 24 years of age, and was a native of Mudgee district.
