Gosford Times 17th December 1915 Roy Pemberton a grandson of our PM, who has grown up amongst us, has enlisted and gone to camp. He has a cousin there already, and his uncle Percy, "one of the best, of former Creek boys," has been in Egypt with the A M C for the past six months. He joined in Western Australia, where he settled some 10 years ago.
Gosford Times 30th November 1916 There's a report going round that Syd Woodbury and Percy Davis have been invalided home, and will be back for Xmas. Good news for their home folk, if true. Roy Pemberton, who was wounded some weeks ago, is nearly alright again.
Gosford Times 8th February 1917 Particulars of poor Roy Pemberton's death have reached his people. His mate, writing, says "Roy and I had just taken shelter in a shell hole when a bullet struck my pal in the head and he was killed instantly."
Sydney Morning Herald 17th November 1917 pg. 11 PEMBERTON- In loving memory of Private Roy Pemberton, killed in action in France, November 14, 1916, aged 21 years O, God, grant us victory, That his young life was not given in vain. Inserted by his sincere friend, E M Woodbury
