Shapey is a UK based supplement company set up by two local young university graduates, Steven (Yarm) and Tom (Ingleby Barwick) with nothing to lose, the pair decided to invest their time and money into a business which appealed to both of them and their passions. They shared a mutual interest in health, nutrition and fitness. After graduating from Teesside University with First Class Honours degrees in Sports Science and Interactive Design, respectively, they wanted to put their skills and knowledge together to create a unique brand; Shapey. After conducting market research, the boys noticed the huge growth in females both using the gym and purchasing supplements to support their training. They also found that a limiting factor to women purchasing protein supplements was that the taste and texture simply weren't appealing to them.

Graeme who has already swam Loch Ness for JPC Community Farm last year, felt it was an opportunity not to be missed. His passion for the charity meant it was an easy decision to again support JPC Community Farm.

Graeme will only be wearing his ‘budgie smugglers’ ie. Speedos with no extra layering such as goose fat, so he’s trying to keep it as close as possible to the original recorded swims by the likes of Captain Matthew Webb back in 1875. The tide at this time of year is called either a spring or neap tide and this alters on a weekly basis but basically affects wind and wave break conditions, this can make it more difficult and more dangerous. Graeme has first slot and it can be taken between 20th to 27th of August. When we asked Graeme about the inspiration to do it again for JPC Community Farm, he said “ there have been times when I sit there in total

admiration of what Paul and Julie are doing for their son James and like my Loch Ness swim I wanted to put my feet in their shoes, even if it was only for a short while. I’m happy to admit that on numerous occasions during training I felt like giving up, something I still criticise myself for. Having seen Paul do his Ironman challenge and hearing him say exactly the same things made me feel much less critical of myself. So it’s with great pride I know I’m making a small contribution to a cause I hold very close to my heart”. Graeme went on to say “one of my proudest achievements isn’t raising funds although that’s still lovely, it was finding their first patron Stuart Myers, who I met at one of his motivational and inspirational speeches, and linked him with Paul and the rest is history”.

Gossip Magazine has had the pleasure to meet and interview a new upcoming band V12. V12 Consists of three permanent members: Carl Pemberton who plays the lead guitar and provides the vocals for the band, Jason, the bass guitarist providing the riffs, rhythms and humour to the group and Adam the drummer keeping everything in time. Carl will be known across Teesside from his days in the X Factor series 2 finals with his brother Andrew as the band Journey South. V12 started up as a trio five months ago when Jason and Carl decided to create a band for the enjoyment of making and performing music. But as with all bands a drummer was needed and scouted round for local talent and found Adam. Together they decided on their name V12. This comes from Jason's love of cars.

Over the last five months they have expanded their musical range they offer but have grown close as a unit and as good friends enjoying each rehearsal and performance. V12 are a band that currently sing covers of songs, and as people heard at the Cleveland show in Stewarts Park, they play them well. The band are not set one a single style, era or genre of music however they do favour playing acoustically. V12 play songs such as MR Brightside, Sweet child of mine, Bon Jovi U2 and a wide range of others and are always looking for more gigs. Perfect for Corporate events, weddings, parties and public events with their music selection tailored to suit what each client wants.

In five years time they aim to be out most weekend full of various bookings touring the UK. V12 are not limiting themselves to the local region of the North East but are available for jobs throughout the country. V12 are already making waves and taking on a lot of bookings and are next performing at the Rudds Arms, Middlesbrough on the 28th August and Gossip Magazine are certain we will be seeing plenty more from them in the future.

As a group, they love to meet up and enjoy playing. "It's who we are and what we enjoy doing. It's a job that doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t feel like a job and is very enjoyable" is what Jason said when asked why they do it. Music is something each member has been interested in from a young age and pursued as a passion which has led into their career path.

Parkway Community Bus Parkway Community Bus launch set to make big difference to isolated areas

A NEW free bus service which will provide a much-needed link from Stainton Village and surrounding areas to the Parkway, is to be trialled starting in July 2017.

The Parkway Community Bus will pick up at 10.30am from The Bluebell Acklam Road, Jack Simon Way (new housing estate “Upper Acklam”), Maltby Village, Thornton Village, Stainton Village, Hemlington Hall Road and Coulby Farm Way, arriving at the Parkway Centre for 11am.

Zoe France, Centre Manager at the Parkway explains: “Customers to the Parkway have been telling us how difficult it has been to get out of their villages to go shopping. As a shopping centre that sees itself as very much the heart of the community, we wanted to make a difference. Working with Gary Walton at G L Coaches, we have secured a 16-24 seater coach, which is
