The Black Bull Inn, Moulton From Railway Carriage To Popular North Yorkshire Inn Many years ago, my son and I visited Moulton, near Richmond, and enjoyed an excellent meal in a converted railway carriage. How times have changed as sadly, the carriage is no longer there, but fortunately, the Black Bull Inn still has a wonderful historic feel even after a full renovation with a stunning extension and a lovely out door area which has replaced it. I’ve read great reviews but decided to see for myself. “Was it still famous for its seafood”? On arrival with my wife, the manager and her staff were very welcoming and friendly and after we were shown to our table and presented with the menus, we had the opportunity to admire the surroundings. I was immediately impressed by the extraordinary ambience of the entire interior of the building and feel it would be a great venue to bring family and friends to celebrate special occasions. I selected a lovely French house red to accompany a delicious, fresh tomato soup with warm soda bread and butter, to start - a very good choice! My wife chose the soufflé which, in her words not mine was “light, fluffy and delicious”. The main was a medium rare sirloin steak and half a lobster which were both cooked to perfection. After tasting my wife’s seafood pancake with mornay sauce, which was fresh, rich and extremely tasty, I will definitely have to return. As for the puddings, well you will have to visit and try for yourself!

If you would like to enjoy a great culinary experience in pleasant surroundings then the Black Bull Inn is the place to be.

Life is about seeking out and then grabbing hold of the best opportunities possible. And education is often the key to doing just that. I’ve always been passionate about making a difference to the lifechances of young people, and with 13 years’ experience as a Secondary school English teacher in the Tees Valley, I am a big believer in the absolute power of a quality education. In my time as a teacher (a job I loved!), I began to recognise the increasing need for learning to be much more tailored to each individual. I’ve always very much adhered to the view that a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t work in education, but unfortunately, too many of our children are stuck with a system that doesn't work for them. I knew that there was a yearning need to plug this gap, in the shape of personalised one-to-one tuition where the learning pathway is tailored to suit the needs of every child. I was shocked to find that private tuition is a completely unregulated industry, so set-about making sure that every one of our tutors is fully compliant with all the checks that any parent would expect of a classroom teacher. With Signature Tuition our key aim is to ensure that we set the standard of professional integrity, delivering results in a way that fits each child’s needs: creating a unique, signature style of learning. More than anything, I love to see the results and the very real impact that spending one-on-one quality time on learning has – not just on exam results, but on confidence, self-esteem and happiness. Nothing beats that feeling of seeing somebody smile for the first time in their own ‘Eureka’ moment! From that point, I know they’ve ‘got it’ and my work is done! As I look towards beginning our next academic year, I’m hugely excited not only about our reach in the Tees Valley and our growth from specialising in English, but moving into science and maths tuition. The Story Of The Iconic Lexus LFA

Only 500 examples of the awesome Lexus LFA supercar were made in its short, two-year production span. When new, demand outstripped supply; and the same is true for pre-owned examples of our depreciation-proof modern classic. On the rare occasion when one does come up for sale, it is usually snapped up by appreciative enthusiasts. President and CEO of parent company Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), Akio Toyoda is a car enthusiast of the modern era. Unlike his grandfather Kiichiro, who started the company, or his father Shoichiro, he was never trained as an engineer but his passion shines through.

The first LFA prototypes were completed in June 2003, and chief engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi ensured that Akio Toyoda was always the first test driver. “He may not be an engineer,” Tanahashi commented, “but he knows what he likes and doesn’t like, and he is enthusiastic. Once he gets behind the wheel it’s hard to get him out; you have to show him the flag!” Chief test-driver Hiromu Naruse strongly believed that great cars are developed through road racing, the ultimate facility being Germany’s world famous 12.9mile Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit. Akio Toyoda was similarly enthralled by this challenging loop of 170 corners around the natural amphitheatre of the Eifel mountains, and with over 100 laps under his belt was already something of a Ring Meister. The LFA served as a catalyst to streamline engineering and

product development within Toyota Motor Corporation. It revolutionised the Toyota Production System, and empowered engineers and designers to think more creatively and forge closer cooperation with their colleagues in production. And what’s more, Lexus had developed a world-beating supercar that inspired people in new and exciting directions. On 14 December 2012, LFA production came to an end, five hundred cars had been built in two years, a production rate of one per day. The Lexus LFA has left a legacy like no other.
