IELTS Preparation The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the most widely recognised English test in the world. It is accepted for entry into higher education and professional bodies, and for Australian visa applications. IELTS tests speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to provide scores from band 1 (non-user) to band 9 (expert user). Most Australian universities and higher education institutions require students to have an overall band score of between 6.0 and 7.5 to be eligible for entry. The IELTS test can be taken at the nearest test centre. In Sydney and Melbourne the test is taken at our own approved IELTS test centre. Results are released approximately two weeks after the test. A pre-course qualifying test is required to guarantee a place in this course.

Benefits of our IELTS Preparation course • This intensive course will help you maximise your IELTS score • We focus on all four key skill areas: speaking, listening, reading and writing • Test techniques are taught by experienced IELTS teachers • The course includes practice exam sessions

myStudy has three key elements:

Our online platforms also connect learners with teaching staff, classmates and other Navitas students internationally.

• myStudy activities — a series of activities to improve your listening, conversation, grammar and vocabulary. Students are encouraged to work on PCs in English

• myStudy profile — you answer questions about what you’d like to learn and receive advice and study tips to fit your profile

• myStudy space — a student social network with brains

myStudy conversation

myStudy movies

myStudy conversation is a good way to practise what you have learned in class together with other students. It’s also a good time to meet students from other classes. You can make mistakes in comfort, because myStudy conversation is for fluency practice.

myStudy movies helps you to develop listening skills, extend vocabulary, and listen to different accents by watching films. All movies have English sub-titles to help you understand.

The library or study rooms are good for quiet work, when you need to concentrate. They provide excellent opportunities for you to work on areas you find difficult, to look again at things studied in class, or to do homework.

myStudy language

myStudy computers

myStudy space

If you want extra practise with grammar and vocabulary you can do this in myStudy language. Teachers will provide advice before you decide what to study because there are a lot of choices!

There’s so much to do in English on the computer, but not everyone knows where to start. We guide you and advise you to keep it simple by looking at the software programs on the computer first.
