Experienced teachers, with Cambridge ESOL CELTA, DELTA or equivalent specialised qualifications, will help you build your language skills so you can communicate successfully in English. A range of courses are available, lasting from 1 week to 52 weeks. The right course combination is easy to create; just refer to the course finder below and opposite. If you want to keep your options open, just let us know how long you would like to study in Australia and you can choose your courses when you arrive.*
Students are tested and placed in an appropriate course and level — from Elementary through to Advanced levels. IELTS Preparation The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is quickly becoming the most widely recognised English test in the world. It is accepted for entry into higher education and professional bodies, and for Australian visa applications.

IELTS tests speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to provide scores from band 1 (non-user) to band 9 (expert user). These scores are combined to provide an overall band score. Most English-speaking universities and higher education institutions require students to have an overall band score of between 6.0 and 7.5 to be eligible for entry.

Pearson Preparation PTE Academic The Pearson Test of English (PTE) (Academic) is a highly regarded English language proficiency test aimed at students intending to study at an Englishspeaking university or other academic institutions. It provides an accurate measure of international students’ communication skills in an academic context. The PTE (Academic) is aligned with the Common European Framework benchmark of English language ability and is endorsed by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC®). Accommodation Where will you live? Choosing the right place to live will help you enjoy your stay in Australia as much as possible. Each Navitas English centre has an accommodation service that can arrange accommodation to suit your needs. • Homestay: Navitas English has our own homestay placement officers who work directly with our homestay families. This is an affordable way to really experience an Australian lifestyle by living with a local family. You will have your own furnished room and meals will be provided by your host family. • On-campus: If you’re studying at Navitas English in Darwin, you can stay at International House Darwin (IHD). In this student residence you will have your own bedroom and shared bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities. For more details visit cdu.edu.au/ihd. • Independent: Navitas English has a great selection of independent accommodation options. We can
arrange backpacker, guesthouse, hostel, or hotel accommodation, as well as share houses and apartments, to suit most budgets. Accommodation options and costs will vary depending on which Navitas English centre you choose. • Accommodation in Singapore: Options include off-campus hostels and condominiums. Homestay fact file • We have a network of homestay families in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Darwin. • Half-board breakfast and dinner provided during the week with additional lunch on the weekend.
• Maximum 45 minutes travel time between your Navitas English centre and your homestay. • Your homestay bedroom will include a bed, wardrobe, desk, and reading light. • Single rooms or shared rooms for two students available. • Stay in a homestay for the duration of your studies, or stay a few weeks to settle in to Australia before looking for independent accommodation. • Homestay rents are calculated on a weekly basis. You can stay extra nights for an additional per-night fee. • Additional fees apply for students under 18 years. • Homestay family details will be sent approximately two to three weeks before you arrive in Australia. Tuition fees and flight details must be received in advance.
