Job Seminars Each month GLS offers students the opportunity to attend a free job seminar. Lots of our students want to work while they study but are not sure how to find a job in Australia. Students will learn how to find a job, to apply for a job, to make a resume and interview skills. These seminars give students the confidence to apply for and gain employment whilst in Australia. Many students have found jobs as a result of attending the GLS job seminars.

Preparing for IELTS Test I was a lucky guy to study at GLS. In my opinion, if I had enrolled in another language school, I couldn't have got 6.0 at last IELTS test. First of all, what helped me to prepare for IELTS test a lot was my great teachers in GLS, Ian, David, Jason, Jen, Lisa, and Mel. They always did their best for encouraging me when I was in pre-intermediate class. It was very helpful for me. Also, I should mention my foreign friends who I met in GLS. Many friends (from Arabic countries, Brazil, Japan, China, Germany, Portugal and Venezuela) gave me help to speak in English most of the time. I recommend this school I have been a student at GLS for a few weeks. It has been a good time. Teachers are very kind and funny, if you don’t understand they will always help you. You can make many good friends. There is a kitchen, you can use the microwave, and then you can play air hockey. The school was founded one year ago, so building is beautiful. Friday afternoon I have started my sixth week at GLS and it seems like the time has flown. I didn’t need much time to feel comfortable because the teachers and students are very lovely. Everyone is always up for a joke and everybody tries to help whenever they can. I especially enjoy the Friday afternoon

Confident speaking English I have been studying at GLS for about 10 weeks. I choose GLS because all of the school was clean, tidy and nice facilities. I cannot forget my first class. At that time I was very nervous, but all of the people in the class were concerned about me, in spite of my English skills not being good enough. I have become confident speaking English. GLS have many good teachers, students and staffs. The classes are small so I am able to speak English a lot in class. We have a variety of activities every Friday. Believe your intuition In fact, I don’t think my language ability is enough to say I’m good at English, but I definitely improved my capability of speaking, listening, writing and grammar in GLS. GLS has extremely kind teachers who always keep smiling when students ask questions, and some of those teachers come from different countries each of them adds to the culture at the school. Latest innovation teaching When I came to the Gold Coast, I was excited to find a good school and start studying English. I came to the Southport area and had a look at different schools, but one in particular caught my attention. This was Gold Coast Language Schools, which is located in Southport. I found this school by chance when I went to ask some information. I immediately had a good feeling about the place, the receptionist and all the other people. When I went out of the school, I told myself ‘This is the school where I want to study’. Finally, one month ago I started my IELTS preparation course at this school and am very happy with my teachers. I feel comfortable and confident to ask them about anything. Moreover, I realised that my English is really improving everyday because of them. They follow their students’ progress and want to help us to have a good approach to language acquisition. Because this school is really new, they are involved in the latest innovation teaching. I will attend the IELTS class for 6 more weeks and am glad because I have been having lots of fun.
