Retained Interest

Maple Oaks to sell full possession of all animals being offered and shall retain 1/3 semen interest unless specified otherwise in the catalog.

Cattle will sell under the general Terms and Conditions as recommended by the Red Angus Association of America. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions on our website: www.MapleOaksRedAngus.com. Each animal becomes the risk of the Buyer as soon as sold, but it shall be the obligation of the Seller to see that animals are fed and cared for free of charge to Buyer, until loaded for shipment. Purchase of cattle insurance is recommended.

All animals are eligible for interstate shipment, except as otherwise announced. Interstate health papers will be furnished for each animal in accordance with prevailing State / Federal regulations.

Breeding Guarantee

All animals are guaranteed by the seller as outlined in the suggested Sale Terms & Conditions of the Red Angus Association including but not limited to points 8 and 10.

Breeding Soundness Exam

All bulls sell with a completed and passed breeding soundness exam (BSE). BSE will be completed by Ray Stegeman DVM, Osage Veterinary Clinic within 30 days of sale date.

MAPLE OAKS RED ANGUS Dear Friends, Welcome to our LIMITED RESERVE Red Angus Bull Sale! We are so proud and excited to share this select group of 18 month old Red Angus bulls with you! When we drive by our paddocks, this group puts a smile on our face every time. When you see them in person, you’ll understand why we are calling this group LIMITED RESERVE. Our breeding program puts a lot of emphasis on bull selection and how they pair with our maternal females. By design, you will see a lot of consistency in the bulls even though they come from a variety of sires and dams. The bulls you buy are backed by proven cow families which were natural or AI bred to exceptional sires, some of the greatest in the Red Angus breed. Our bulls are developed on pasture, where they will spend most of their lives, not pen raised. They run on large fescue pastures with rolling hills, creeks, rocks, cedars, oak trees, etc. They also receive fresh water, ADM AMP-T mineral, and Accuration. They get a lot of exercise to build muscle, their dispositions are great, are up on all vaccinations and have passed their soundness exams so they are ready to go to work for you! The foundation of our Maple Oaks herd continues to be our highly maternal females. We breed for structure, udder quality, and all the nurturing qualities that make a great cow. We have researched some of the greatest genetics available and have built a cowherd that continues to add value to our program and ultimately our customer’s. I remember seeing Red Box for the first time… he was a special bull capable of changing the breed. Red Box offspring are commanding serious dollars and rightfully so. We used Red Box as an outcross sire and bred Maple Oaks Prairie Lily, a Red CG on Target daughter, to him. He did not disappoint. 2998H is an “eye catcher”. All visitors gravitate to him immediately because of his color, proud look and tremendous presence. Super dark red in color, sound in his structure and hoof, clean fronted, long and straight in his spine and a beautiful extension in his front end. Quality and style run deep in this family tree. 2998H’s dam is a larger 6.5 framed dark red cow who boasts a whopping 106 MPPA. She weaned him off at 708 lbs on weaning date. Dark cherry red, square hipped, long and balanced describe 3169H. The dam of 3169H is a larger framed, very dark daughter of Red CG on Target 18T (MPPA 104). The 7169 family are special in that they are very angular and feminine in appearance, fertile as rabbits and make great mothers. FirePower 503H is a big, heavy boned, powerful bull … one of the tallest bulls in the offering. He started strong at 76lbs, weaned at 650 lbs and is not slowing down any. It would not surprise me if he is 1500 lbs on sale day. A few years back, we selected pick of the Champion Pen of Three females at the NWSS in Denver from fellow Missouri Red Angus breeder, Dan and Kelly Lacy, of Lacy’s Red Angus. This female was a daughter of Legacy 6097, a female we felt would add tremendous value to our program. We felt mating her to Flashback 6609D, which brings top 10 weaning weights and top to 15% YW EPDs, could be the ticket and he did not disappoint. Legacy 451H is a special bull! Beautiful disposition. 4132H is a nice, sound-made bull with a ton of look to him. He is dark red and travels well. His grand dam is the dam of the lot 2 Moonshine 0132H bull in the sale. We think a lot of this cow family and 0132B has produced some excellent herd bulls currently working in various programs. Not exactly sure why the CED and BW (+1.8) EPDs are so high as his dam has never missed, and raised 5 calves and only one has been over 74 lbs (74,74,80,67, and 73lbs respectively), and ideal weight even for heifers. Based on the EPDs however, 4132H is recommended for cows, especially if you are breeding commercial cattle where heterosis is involved. Recommended for cows and larger heifers. His dam has had 5 calves, only one heavier than 74 lbs and all have come unassisted.
