Applying to UCA is easy! Apply early to ensure the fullest consideration for scholarships and access to the housing application, financial aid information and registration for Summer Orientation & Academic Registration (SOAR).

Start your application process by visiting admissions.uca.edu/apply and use our convenient, secure application. Next, complete your admission file by submitting your official high school transcript and your immunization records showing two MMR shots. If you have less than a 3.0 high school grade-point average (GPA), also submit your ACT or SAT test scores.

17 ACT composite/930 SAT with a minimum 15 ACT/SAT equivalent required for all subject subscores

Earned college credit through AP, IB, or CLEP examinations?

Taking Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) courses is a sign you have what it takes to succeed as an undergraduate student. Send your scores to the Office of Admissions so you can get credit for your hard-work! UCA also grants credit for many College Board Advanced Placement (CLEP) examinations.

CONCURRENT CREDIT

Concurrent credit is college-level credit that can be earned within a high school setting. You can earn concurrent credit from multiple universities, depending on your high school’s partnerships. If you’ve earned college credit while in high school, please send official college transcript(s) from all credit awarding institutions to the Office of Admissions.

Students from contiguous statesLouisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, & Texaswill pay our in-state tuition rate. This means you’ll automatically be given in the in-state tuition and fee rate when you enroll at UCA - no residency requirements and no additional application needed.

*Out-of-state tuition and fees (15 hours) is $8,630 per semester if students do not reside in university housing.

If you’re from another US state or country, you can still receive in-state tuition when you live in university housing.

Financial Aid Aid & Scholarships

Here at UCA, we strive to provide a college education that’s affordable through competitive costs and financial aid support. In 2023, 97% of students qualified for some form of financial aid.

Our counselors in the Office of Student Financial Aid will support you through the financial aid process as you prepare to attend UCA. Your first step is to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at studentaid.gov. The code for UCA is 001092.

FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Apply as early as possible after the FAFSA opens in December for maximum consideration.

Arkansas students should also complete the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship application at sams.adhe.edu. Apply by July 1, 2024, so you don’t miss this opportunity!

All scholarships are highly competitive and awarded based on academic performance and available funds.

* Students must live in University housing to receive the housing award and therefore the annual total award.

† The Distinguished Scholarship requires a separate scholarship application process and will be competitively awarded to a limited number of students through a committee decision. Only recipients will be notified of awards.

HONORS COLLEGE

Honors education at UCA seeks to develop scholars whose values are shaped by inquiry and exploration. Our mission is to empower highly motivated students to transform themselves and their world.

Our students say Honors has made their transition to college easier by connecting with peers and faculty who care about their success, improving their grades by enhancing writing and critical thinking skills and providing a deeply rewarding educational experience. We have a variety of honors program opportunities available, including the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College and the University Scholars Program.

The Honors College provides the following opportunities for students:

In the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, we prepare students to be dynamic, compassionate and globally informed citizens through creativity, performance and scholarship. We want our students to make a positive difference in society and excel in their profession by applying the tools we give them in the classroom.

• Only Chinese, Religious Studies, and comprehensive Film Production degree programs in Arkansas.

COLLEGE OF business

With more than 1,300 undergraduate students, the College of Business is thriving. Our accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, or AACSB, proves our students get the best education possible. Only 5% of business schools have this designation worldwide! We maintain an innovative curriculum focused on the business world of today. Plus, students get handson experience by participating in practical business projects, internships and student professional organizations so they’re ready for their careers.

• CISA department secured an $84,000 software grant to offer a new “Simulation and Modeling in Data Analytics” course.

• UCA’s Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society Won First Place in International Competition.

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics gives students more hands-on opportunities than other school in the state. Supported by hands-on, minds-on learning our students are able to participate in authentic research, service learning, and outreach activities. Outside the classroom our students present papers at national and regional conferences, lead hands-on sessions for schools and others; work on civic, environmental and other projects; and participate in nationally competitive summer programs. As undergraduates our students begin building their professional resumes as soon as they begin their classes.

Originally known as the Arkansas State Teachers College, UCA was founded in 1907 to prepare teachers. It’s no surprise that our College of Education is Arkansas’ premier educator preparation college today. As a primary provider of health care professionals in Arkansas, our College of Health and Behavioral Sciences is making its mark on the lives of others. Students are engaged in an interprofessional educational environment through collaborative, interdisciplinary experiences. With the new Integrated Health Sciences Building, we have more than 80,000 square feet of state-of-the-art classrooms, clinic spaces and the Nabholz Center for Healthcare Simulation.

• First and longest history of Occupational and Physical Therapy education programs in Arkansas.

• One of the largest Nursing programs in the state, with small class sizes, affordable tuition and high certification and licensure rates.

Campus tours

Tours are available Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. when classes are in session. We also provide Spanish tours once a month throughout the academic year for our Spanish-speaking families. Reserve your spot on our website or by calling 1(800) 243-8245.

CLERY REPORT

UCA is committed to assisting all members of the UCA community in providing for their own safety and security. UCA’s Clery Annual Security & Fire Safety Report is prepared by the UCAPD. You may request a hard copy of the report by contacting the UCAPD at (501) 450-3111 or P.O. Box 4994, Conway, AR 72035. The report is available online at www.ucapd.org/go/cleryreport.

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety, including topics such as: crime prevention, fire safety, university police law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security and safety on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or properties owned or controlled by UCA; and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This notice is required by law and is provided by the University of Central Arkansas Police Department.
